simply the best. what more can i say the best

I've known Dr. Tiesenga for many years, bc I did contract nursing at many of the hospitals he works in. His patients love him and he is very concerned with their wellbeing. I had Bariatric surgery on 10/8 with Dr. T, and I've had no complications what so ever. He did a leak test the next morning post op, and even kept me an extra night to make sure my pain was controlled, and I was able to tolerate liquids. I like him very much, and I attend the monthly support group meetings. He expects a lot out of his patients, and compliance is key :) id recommend him to my friends, family, and colleagues.

Dr. Tiesenga and the staff are great! They do their best to make you feel comfortable. Dr. Tiesenga is brief in his meetings with you until you come in for your pre-op consultation. He has a great sense of humor! When he asked me if I ever had any abdominal surgeries I told him I had 3 c-sections. He looked at me and said" Well, this time you don't get a baby!! I would highly recommend him to anyone considering surgery!

Met with the surgeon Dr. Tiesenga today. It was very brief. He looked over my records. He asked me did I have a C-Section, I told him no. He then asked which surgery I was interested in. I told him only the VSG. I asked him what size Bougie did he use and he said the 40 french. He asked did I have any other question and I said no because I had talked to him previously about the number of VSG's he had done. He then asked me when I wanted it done and I said as soon as possible. I informed him that I had been reseaching this surgery for years. He said that I would do great. He then called in his patient cordinator and she handle the rest of the appointment.

Great so far. I've had some problems with having to jump through hoops with all the post operative testing. I've also had conflicts in what the dietican has told me and what the doctors nurse has told me. Had a drop in blood sugar on my first night to 65.

Hi, My name is Vianca and I had my Lapband surgey on 12/15/2009 with Dr, Frederick Tiesenga in Elmwood Park, Illinois. I have been losing from 9 to 12 pound every 6 weeks. I am at 100 pounds lost in a moatter of months.

I follow my diet that Dr. Tiesenga gave and I workout 5 times a week for 30 mintues. It took me about 3 ajustments to get to a prefect fit. Now I feel great I eat healthy and I even leave food on plate.
Let me tell you I thought that that I was not cablae of doing that leaving food on my plate but I proved myself wrong. I was a coke freak. I dont take any type of drugs but soda was my drug. Its been six months that I have not had a drink of soda and it feels great.

I was wearing a size 28 in pants 6 months ago and now i am wearing a sixe 14. Never did I think I was going to be that size again. In shrit I was a 4x and now I am a size 14. My surgey weight was 295 pounds and now I weight 198 pounds.

I have no regets on haveing the lapband surgey. This has been the best thing for me. I LOVE IT!!!!

The one thing that I must do is Thank Dr. Fredrick Tiesenga. Dr. T saved my life. I had no future and I was ashamed to be me. He has been very supportive in my journey. I must say that the day of my surgey I was very scared but he gave me confort words. He told me no need to worry you are going to be okay and courage is not absence of fear. Those words to me gave me a whole outlook of what was going to happen. I asked him will you be there when I wake up he said yes and sure enough his voice was the first voice I hread upon awakeing. That was a voice of an angel. Every appointment I have with him he encourges me so much and he makes me proud of me. YOU ARE THE BEST DR. TIESENGA. The staff at the doctor office is great. Ceilca make you feel like family I love her dearly she was also a form of support for me.

I did it! Best decision ever!! Great Dr. tiesenga, great hospital, and great nurses! Only 1 problem...what I can eat when I went home. Dr. Tiesenga said one thing and the dietary nurse said something different. I was so confused I called my regular dr. and he said "let the surgeon operate and the dietary nurse tell you what you can eat." So I am following what she said. I feel great! I am down 21 pounds in only a few weeks.

Wish I had more contact with MD prior to surgeryrne. He is ahead of his class and cutting edge! Preforms SILS procedure. Which I like! rnf. Patients well being. rng. Somewhatrnh. Yes he informed me in person and in a information packetrni. I would rate him and his group and 9 out of 10rnj. Both are great!

I have nothing bad to say at this point. I am almost 4weeks post op. He is careful almost to a fault. He not only keeps his pts overnight but we all go to ICU as a precaution. I haven't had a fill yet, and am still on liquids. I'm on willpower, starting to get hard. Overall I am very happy with him. The bariatric coordinator leavea alot to be desired. I think all bariatric surgeons shouls have someone who has been through this working with the patients.
