He has a very positive attitude and I like him very much. So far my opinion has not changed.
His staff is very busy but always has time to help with problems and answer questions, even if they have to call you back in the evening to accomplish that task..
I work in a surgical recovery room , in one of the hospitals he operates in. I see his patients but most of all I have talked to the girls who are in the OR with him. The feed back from them has made my decision very easy. I feel quite comfortable with knowing that I will be in good hands no matter what problems may arise.
He has much emphases on after care...He say once you have the surgery you are his patient for life..I like the fact he will see me through anything that comes up in the future.
He tells you up front what things could possible go wrong and lets you decide if you really what to do this.I think he is great!
To me both are very important...I feel competency is top priority. But if you can't talk you your surgeon or don't want to because he is antisocial! What good is it. I myself know I would avoid any confrontations with him if I could not stand to talk to him!
10/17/01 - I went to Dr B's meeting with my Mom & Dad. We were impressed with the amount of information he gave us. He stresses the importance of following his manual(aka: Bonanni's Bible)for maximum successful wt loss. He's right about that.
Surgery date:03/20/02.~~~
08/02/02- I had surgery in March. As of today I am down 96lbs! I went from always feeling sluggish to having tons of energy. Thank you Dr Bonnani (you cutie!)

Dr. Bonanni is a sweet, non-judgemental, caring person. His office staff is the same. Dr. Bonanni puts you through just about every test there is with blood work, Cardiologists, Lung Specialists, etc. But it's good he does, first of all he knows what the insurance companies look for for approval, second he wants to be sure you are 100% safe for surgery. So far I have all good to say about him. UPDATE--I am now post-op and I have to say Dr. Bonanni is just the greatest. He has the bedside manner of a saint. He was there at the hospital at least twice a day to see me. I was discharged on a Friday, and he called me on Sunday Night!!! to see how I was doing. What a wonderful human being.
I attended two informative meetings a few
months ago. One was with Dr. Bonanni and
the other was conducted by another doctor.
I was considering the other doctor, but, after attending Dr. Bonanni's meeting I changed my mind! Not only was he most informative and personable, he took the time to answer all questions posted to him by the many who were in attendance. He has a very caring attitude and puts you thru many varied tests in order to be 100% sure you qualify for this surgical procedure. He emphasize's how this procedure is "just a tool" and that if you use it properly it will change your life forever...But, it will be a challenge. He does not candy coat it!! As for his staff, I have found them to be pleasant & Paula is most informative as she has had this procedure done. On a scale of 1-10...I give Dr. Bonanni a 10 and his staff a 9. I am looking forward to working with them in the future.
I am now 3 weeks post-op and can honestly say I have never experienced such wonderful
bedside manner, care, concern & skill as Dr. Bonanni has! He is without a doubt one of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is the kind of person you can sit down & talk to like a best friend. THANKS FOR BEING THERE DOC!!
dr bonanni is a great, kind and courteous person.his staff is just as great.i met dr bonanni in the beginning of march 2002.he was honest right off the back with me.i was able to ask him anything and and he answered me as honest as he could.he explained the procedure very thouroughly to me.he also ordered me to go to other doctors to make sure that everything is ok so i can get the clerance i need.he also explained what test would be performed with the other doctors.
I met with Dr. Bonanni on February 28, 2002. He is a very nice and caring doctor. He answered all of my questions in detail.
The staff at his office is great. They now all of the tests that you need to take for the insurance company to approve. The office handled all of the phone calls and paper work. They couldn't be nicer.
I liked Dr. Bonnani from the moment I met him. Recently, I was admitted to the hospital with what was diagnosed as a gall bladder problem. I spent 7 very stressful days wondering what would happen. Would I have to have my gall bladder removed and postpone my gastric bypass surgery. Dr. Bonnani was there for me the entire time. I was finally diagnosed with gall stones and severe ulcers. I am now being treated for both and my surgery will go on as scheduled. The Dr. and his staff have been very supportive. Paula Beam is the program coordinator for this surgery and the Dr.'s very 1st laproscopic. She can relate to everything I am going thru. The detail that they have provided me with regarding the surgery itself, my recovery period, my diet, nutrition, complications, etc. is very thorough. I believe that they have done all they can to prepare me for this. The rest is up to me. I will see the Dr. regularly after my surgery and can contact him or Paula at any time. They have been fantastic! Just make sure that you ask all your questions and receive satisfactory answers. If you don't understand something, don't move on to another question. Have the Dr. explain it again and again if necessary. Dr. Bonnani is very busy and doesn't remember every detail about every patient. But if you ask him, I believe he will answer any questions you may have.
I have not met DR. Bonnani yet however when I called for information regarding the surgery, the staff were extremely nice and helpful. I will update after meeting him on Nov.28th 2001.
1/31/02 I finally got to meet with Dr. Bonnani. He was very nice ,personable, and informative. He took the time to answer my questions and yet was very forth coming with the risks as well as the benefits of having the surgery. I felt very confident with him and know he will take good care of me. I would rate him as a 10.
Dr. B is very personable and easy to talk to. He explained all the risks as well as the benefits of the surgery. His office staff is good and always makes time to talk to me. Dr. B has a brand new aftercare program which seems to be very good, the meeting are informative and helpful. Overall, I would rate Dr. B and his staff as a 10. Hopefully, after the surgery I will not change my mind!
