The first time I met him was when he did my mom's surgery. I loved him. He was kind, caring, and compassionate. I knew he had to be my surgeon. The first time I met his head nurse I didn't care for her. She was really tough on my mom but now I see why. I like her now. His insurance people know what they are doing and got me approved on my first try. He has stressed to me the big need for a aftercare program and that I'm a patient of his for life. He has explained to me the risks and he has voiced his opinion on which surgery would be best for me and why but told me it would be left up to me. When I went in to see him he treated me with respect and didn't look down on me about my weight which a lot of people do. He has a very strong love for his job and it shows through not only his work but the way he treats his patients.
The folks in Dr. Denham's office are very warm and welcoming. They are thorough and they want to answer all of your questions and give you the full run-down of how drastically your life will change and the risks involved with surgery. He lets you know that he plans to stay involved in your life if you decide to go through with the surgery.
I have been to a few support groups and I have met many of his other patients and everyone is full of positive things to say about Dr. Denham.
My first impression of doctor Dennham, was that he is very comfortable with the procedures that he performs, he was direct and to the point and seems to know the questions I had on my mind. He answered each question that I asked and allowed me to ask as many questions as I liked. My impression of Dr, Denham hasn't changed yet because I haven't had but one meeting with him, but I have had dozen of appointments with different specialists that he has referred me to.rnThe office staff has been wonderful to me, I find this very important, when their going to be so involved in your journey. I don't have any complaints about my surgeon or his staff.rnMy journey has just started we slightly touched on aftercare, but I was given so much information on my procedure and advised of each step to take along this journey, which has made me very comfortable.rnDr. Denham was very comfortable in expalining the possible risk of surgery, but made me comfortable in letting me know why some of the risk are more common in some than others. I would rate my surgeon as very knowlegable in bariatric surgery.
First impression of Dr. Denham was that he was extremely professional and knowledgable. He was very confident and that was something I felt good about. His staff is excellent. He seemed to be very busy, (which is a good sign...not sure I'd want my husband to have a surgeon that had a lot of time on his hands..LOL). He addressed the risks of surgery honestly. We found that to be quite comforting. I will update this after my husbands surgery on 3/16/09.
i liked him alotrnI think he is an excellent surgeonrnHis office staff is very thorough and friendlyrnHe had the resident doctor release me from the hospital instead of himrnHe is a very good doctor and he came highly recommened from two of my other doctors from diffrent hospitalsrnEven before you have the surgery, the aftercare is highly emphasized and it is very structured..I am really impressed with the aftercarernAll risks of the surgery were addressed more than oncernI would highly recommend him to anyone loooking for a surgeon for WLSrnBedside manner & surgical competence were both greatrnrnThese are my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience.
I was referred by my nutritional psychologist to the doctor and went in for an initial visit. His staff were friendly and helpful. He didn't visit with me nearly as long as the RN did, but I was still at least 5 months away from possible surgery. rnrnThe bariatric coordinator is very helpful and informative and is the one who deals with all the before and after care.
