First time I met Dr. Wilson was in a seminar. He was well spoken and very charismatic. I was excited to learn he offered the DS. I made my appointment the next morning, to get things started. The staff at UT Physicians are very impressive and so helpful with every single question. They made getting qualified for surgery alot less stressful than when I tried 5 years ago with another surgeon. rnDr. Wilson is a perfectionist and made sure I understood every detail of my surgery. rnI was his first DS patient and never once did I feel afraid that anything would go wrong. His track record with other bariatric surgeries and his confidence made me secure in my decision. His level of care for his patience is outstanding...even the nurses in the hospital raved about his exellence.rnHe is by far the best thing thats ever happened to me. rnHere I sit, 3 weeks after surgery and already my life has improved drastically. rnMy surgery weight was 395.rnI am at 372 as of this morning and my activity level is increasing more and more every day.rnI would rate Dr. Wilson 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, and a perfect 10.... he's the absolute best in my opinion, and I am extreamely lucky to have found him.

My first impression of Dr. Wilson was that he is very relaxed. He answered all of my questions and did not rush me. His office staff was also very nice to me. When you set up your appointment expect to wait, just remember that when it is your turn with him he will not rush you or make you feel like a number. He will give you the time you deserve. I feel safe going into surgery with him and his fellows.
Excellent doctor. Think he cared about what he was doing and was not trying to run me through like a cattle call. (He definately was not in it for the bucks). Since I was a self pay he offered to contact a VP at Memorial Hermann if I was going to have to stay an extra day when he found out the hospital wanted an extra $4k+ for each extra day. Didn't have to stay beyond scheduled 3 days.rn Surgery went as planned. I was up walking 4 hours after surgery and even walked up a flight of stairs on fist walk. Never needed any pain medication in the hospital and haven't even filled the prescription for pain meds after leaving.rn I would definately recommend him or Memorial Hermann Hospital (Houston Medical Center)`if you needed an opinion.rnrn
I first met Dr. Wilson on March 29, 2005. At that time I weighed 658 lbs and was bedridden. He and his staff were very curteous and helpful, but he explained to me that it was simply too dangerous for me to have surgery at that point. He said that I needed to get below 500 lbs. and regain mobility before it would be safe enough to operate. He perscribed an Optifast diet, which was approximately 1500 calories a day. I did use Optifast for awhile, but eventually moved to real food and counting calories, also at 1500 calories a day.rnThe next time I saw Dr. Wilson was at the mandatory informational meeting, which I believe that I went to in February 2006. By that point I was under 500 lbs. and still losing. He recognized me and seemed genuinely delighted to see me. (I doubt he thought he would ever see me again.) rnHe did my Lap RNY on May 22, 2006 and I have done beautifully. I have had no complications whatsoever. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Wilson and I would recommend him to anyone looking into WLS.
