My first Impression was that he was very nice. He has GORGEOUS eyes...LOL
He seemed very understanding & Professional.
They were all very nice. Most of them are "little sisters" so they have been through it and know how you feel!
He puts VERY stront emphasis on aftercare!!!
Yes he has a structered aftercare program.
He was straight forward and to the point. I LIKED THAT!!
On a scale from one to 10 he would be a 10!
both

I LOVE Dr. Bellanger! Every visit before the surgery and especially after the surgery made me more positive that I had made the perfect choice in surgeons. He was always upfront and honest. He never made me feel rushed or foolosh for asking questions and for the first time in a LONG time, I felt I was important and not being ridiculed due to my weight.

my first impression of dr. blake is hes young but very proffesional, he was very honest very knowelegable. his staff is so very friendly, every one on his staff has had some type of weight surgery. they all take their time with you, your not in and out in no time, to me that means alot that they take their time, very thro, very caring his staff is new weight they are out of texas and now setting up in baton rouge. their office and hosiptal is set up for the obese, large chairs, large couches and etc. they have a great aftercare program its a 2 year program. every one of my questions were answered and then some. new weigh even fights your appeals, everything. i feel really great about all of this i guess mainly because of the staff, the doctor and the atmosphere there. thanks dr. blake and new weigh.

I was very impressed with his honesty on how many procedures he had done and how many patients he had lost. I first met him in March 2002 and then again in December as my insurance changed and covers this type of surgery. His office staff was great and now he is associated with Neweigh which is wonderful. His being so young sort or scared me. I was having doubts about him being my surgeon because he had not done as many of these as the doctors in New Orleans. I have found out that the reason was that the hospital he was doing it at did not have the equipment for severly overweight people Cat scan etc. which did in fact have something to do with the 2 deaths. He quit surgery there and was in the process of working with them to upgrade the equipment to handle the obese when Vista hospital and NeWeigh came into play. Vista will have state of the art equipment and will be a baratric hospital only. I met with the nutrienst and she went over the aftercare program Dr. Bellanger has implemented. I am very confident now in his abilities. I think for me surgical competence is better for me than bedside manner but ofcourse I have the type of personality I can handle any types. I love people and have been in banking and have come across all types so if he just does his job to the best of his ability we will get along great. I went to see my family doctor and he recommended him highly.

I like Dr. Bellanger because he is honest plus friendly. So far my impression of him is the same. I'll let you know after the surgery.
What can I say about his office workers....they work. Ashley is very outgoing, friendly, and over worked.
Dr. Bellanger likes people to attend the first Tuesday of the month meetings. He says that is where you can get encouraged and learn from other people that have had the surgery.

Dr. Bellanger is very professional. His office staff is very nice. He has done many surgeries in the Baton Rouge area. He emphasizes it is a life-time commitment to lose the weight even though you have a tool now to use to help you. He has a very methodical and layed out plan for aftercare. He is very thorough doctor overall. I haven't have had my surgery yet, but others says he has great surgical competence and bedside manner.

I have to date meet Dr. Bellanger, on two occasions. My impression is that he is very intrested in helping you resolve your weight loss issue. He was up-front with the risk's of the WLS and the benefits. He was patient with my questions and very thoughtful in his answers. He emphasized that this is a major surgery with risk up to and inculding death. He explained his track record very openly and the fact that he has only been preforming the WLS for the past two and half years. I am however, continuing to research the WLS and Dr. Bellanger; so I can make the best decesion for my health.
Before, I make the final go/no-go decesion regarding the WLS, Dr. Bellanger and his staff, must earn my trust and confidence. I hope that I will find an answer to my prayer's!

Dr. Bellanger is a young, friendly, and willing to listen to you and answer any of your questions. His office is always in a rush, always busy, but they are friendly and will answer any questions, too. The office staff will give you the e-mail address and voice mail if you think of something to ask when the office is closed. At your first visit you will fill out information and then you will be advised to attend a meeting with other people that have been thru the surgery and some waiting to have the surgery. This is really a treat because you get to hear all the good/bad things and you'll be able to hear about who lost how much. You will be given a stack of information about the surgery and the do's and don'ts. Dr. Bellanger will tell you of the risks and answer your questions. He is honest with his answers.
I will get back to you after the surgery and let you know the rest of the story.
