My first impression of Dr. Gadaleta was that he was a no nonsense person. His purpose on our first meeting was to let me know exactly what I was in store for and didn't pull any punches. After my surgery I discovered that Dr. Gadaleta had a sense of humor which is very important. However, I kept telling myself that this didn't matter. I didn't choose him for his personality but for his skill.

Dr. Gadaleta has a terrific staff. They are always accessible and available to answer questions.

Dr. Gadaleta's program includes nutritional guidance as well as pre and post op support groups.

Overall I would recommend Dr. Gadaleta to anyone who is considering this surgery and in fact I have.

My first impression of Dr. Gadaleta was a good one. He made me feel confident in his ability's as a bariatric surgeon.

The office staff at Dr. Gadaleta's office worked in helping me get all of my pretesting done quickly. I began June 3, 2004 at his consultation and finished all prestesting on July 9th. The support team of Dr's that I used for my pretesting were also very good. They got all of my paper work in very quickly.

I did a background check on my surgical team and found that Dr. Gadaleta has been a practicing surgeon for the past 19 years. He began specializing in bariatric medicine about 8 years ago. He had only good things said about him in my report.

These are my own personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements of what other people may experience.

confidant, compedent, typical demeana for a bariatric surgeon.
He has shown concern for me and has attempted to use non evasive treatments for
my current situation. He will always call back.
Office staff cold & indifferent after surgical complications.
I felt he was somewhat evasive in explaining the extent of my post op complications.
Since I had surgical problems It would be hard to reccomend him to perform this surgery.
unknown.
The risks were addressed almost as a disclaimer.
I feel he will do his very best for his patients.
Surgical competence.

Dr. Gadaleta is a great sergeon. He did my father about 8 years ago when the sergery was new and he took good care of him. Dominick is very family personal and is a funny guy. My mom and i agree that he looks very good in a sute.
If there was any questions that you needed to know he would tell you everything strate out. there was no pampering the answer to make it sound better.
The only thing that i can say i did not like was that i never got to talk to him durning my prosses but his secratery is the best. If there is anything you need she is the lady.
I feel that he was the best choice for me for the sergery and i feel that the other doctor in the office DR. Gelman is a great pair. they have a great record working together and that also puts peopele at ease when they know both doctors work very well togther its like a PBJ sandwitch.

I liked him at first impression. He was straight forward and knowlegable. The procedure went well and I had little pain. A complication came after surgery and it had nothing to do with the procedure. Dr Gadaleta was there for me when I needed him. He even postponed a day off to check on my condition. I highly recommend him if you live in the NYC area.I look forward to the new path I am entering. There is careful monitoring of me after the surgery. Contact me if you have any questions.

My first impression of him was that he was very professional. My impression stills reamins the same.Since this office is so very busy, his office staff, have limited time to spend with each patient. You may have to call back a few times to have all your questions answered but they will get answered.
His emphasis on aftercare is very strict. He wants to make sure that you are as serious as he is.He will assist you in finding a doctor if you relocate to another city/state.His future patients should know that they will be in good hands but must have patience when dealing with his staff. Although he did cover all of the risks of the surgery, it is YOUR job to fully research and make that final decision. My opinion is surgical competence and bedside manner MUST work hand in hand in order for a medical professional to be given a great rating overall.

Dr. Gadaleta was all business at my initial appointment. I was hoping he was friendly but he was all business he explained everything to me his opinion on the type of surgery I should have and his reasons why he recommended open surgery for me. My next appointment is on March 27th I'll what he says then. The person who recommended him to me say's once you have the surgery he is like your best friend. Kind and caring. I'll let you know. Dr. Gadaleta strongly recommends aftercare and has support groups in his office every month.

Dr. Gadaleta saved my life! Yeah I read stuff about his bedside mannor, but I don't see what people are talking about. I think he is truly understanding about morbidly obease people, and cares enough to explain in detail the pros-and cons. I think If you are lucky enough to have Dr. Gadaleta perform your surgery you will be as grateful as I am. Yvonne is also wonderful she takeS care of everything that leads up to the actual date. This my friends is a winning team, you are sure to succeed with the help of Dr. Gadaleta, and Yvonne.

He is a surgeon so I expected him to clear and to the point. He was exactly that, but over all, he is a real wonderful man. He just wants to help us get cured of our disease of obesity. The office staff seemed a bit preoccupied on the phone but once I was in the office I realized they have 8 Dr.s there and I understood!! As soon as I got there, everything was great! Don't be thrown off by Dr. Gadaleta's business like way, he is a surgeon, and a very established one at that. He has been on the commitee for the FDA approval of this surgery, not to mention numerous television appearances. He's in this to help us! He wil tell you about the risks of the surgery in a clear but caring manner, but also reassures you that he is trained thoroughly in bariatric surgery and knows how to fix any problems that could possibly arise! At my presurgical visit he warmed up even more and now that I am post op and I have seen him many times in the past month I can certainly say he is totally caring. He has made me feel so at ease about anything and everything I was worried about. I can't wait to go back in a 2 weeks to see how I did!!

I was nervous about meeting Dr Gadaleta after reading reviews on this site. People described him as cold, and having no bedside manor. I really liked. He very straight foward.I wanted the best best surgeon, his personality really was not that important to me. He was very highly recommeded by a friend of mine who is an MD. He was very informative. Gave me all the info on my surgery, the risks, complications.Stressed the omportance fo aftercare. His office is quite busy, so you do have to wait. Bring somethin to read. I think he is an excellent surgeon. Im very glad I went with him. I would highly reccomend him.
