Dr. Smith has been wonderful throughout the whole process and continues to be there for all his patients - I see him once a year but he is always available to me by phone if I have questions or problems about anything no matter how silly they may be. His staff is wonderful (sometimes they don't return calls as quickly as we would like them to but they are busy too). Ratings? Just do a little research --He is definitely top rated-Bedside manner - tops - Dr. Smith on a Scale of 1 to 10 -- I'd say 15!!!!! rnrnMy first appointment was April 4, 2003 - He is wonderful. I have not experienced any problems with insurance or with the scheduling of surgery (it did take a while, but no problem really). I look forward to having my surgery and begining a new life.

Dr. Smith has a complete education program in place to make sure his patients have every chance at success. His office staff and assistants from Wellstar (Kennestone Hospital) are all pleasant and helpful. Dr. Smith himself was respectful, polite and answered all my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. He has a wonderful reputation as a surgeon and I felt sure I was in very good hands.rnrnThe support groups his office offers are the best in this area in my opinion. rnrnThe only negative I can offer up, is that his office seemed hard to reach before the surgery, and I was a little concerned as to what would happen if I did need them in an emergency. However, I discovered after the surgery when I needed help that the responses were immediate and I got the help I needed right away.

Dr. Smith is very thorough in teaching his patients what they are in for before surgery & in getting all test results in before final approval for surgery is given. He has taken great care to make sure I fully understood what I was getting into & what life style changes would be necessary to make the most of the surgery. I was made aware of the risks of the surgery beforehand as well.rnrnHis office staff kept me up to date on the progress of everything being done as my surgery date grew closer & encouraged me in getting the necessary approvals, consults & clearances.rnrnDr. Smith is very soft spoken & gentle. His care is evident & his expertize in the field is nationally renound. I could not have asked for a better surgeon & so thankful He & his staff were able to work with me in getting approved for the surgery.rnrnI would highly recommend Dr. Smith to anyone looking for an excellent & very caring surgeon & support staff.

I've only spoken to Dr. Smith on the phone thus far. My first impression was really good. He is so calm and I find that reassuring and calming to me. I have confidence in his abilities, and we even discussed their Center of Excellence status. It sounded as if he respected me because I chose him partly because of that reason. He was very thorough when we talked about the surgery, and he patiently answered all my questions even though I'm sure he had others patients to see or talk with.rnrnSince surgery, I can say that I do absolutely adore Dr. Smith! He came to check on me twice a day for the entire time I was in the hospital - something NO other surgeon I've ever had. He is not the most talkative guy ever, but then that's ok with me. I like his quiet nature. I am very thankful that he is my surgeon.

Dr. Dennis Smith has a calming spirit about him. Trust was never an issue. Doctors and nurses say he is the best and love having him do procedures at their hospital. One of the best things about him and his staff is that they are totally efficient. Every i is dotted and every t is crossed. That is probably where the peace comes from. They want journey to be all about you and your success.

Dr. Smith and all of his staff are very nice. He attended the informational seminar and did a very informative presentation including a video of the actual surgery. He is a gentle, kind person. Dee, the barriatric coordinator was on top of things when getting me ready for surgery. He has a close relationship with a nurse and nutritionist who did an indept educational seminar before surgery. I am now five weeks post surgery and all of the staff have been helpful to me. The pre surgery education element was outstanding. I have felt totally confident with Dr. Smith and his staff.

My first impression of Dr. Smith was...\"wow he's quiet, and very serious.\" Over time, we warmed up to eachother and he seemed to relax a little. The staff is very helpful and curteous and will jump through hoops for you as long as you handle your part. Dr. Smith is very big on after care, so if there are any potential patients that are reading this should know before they make this commitment. If you are not serious about change, dont bother stopping at his office! Over all, working with Dr. Smith has been a pleasant experience and I would use him again if I had to do it over.

Dr. Smith is a wonderful surgeon! He's thorough, knowledgable, skilled, and very kind. I think I was most impressed as I went through all my pre-op/pre-admission testing and paperwork. Everytime someone say that Dr. Smith was my surgeon, they ALL would say, \"Oh, he's SO good and very particular about his patients.\" He covered every detail, answered every question and his pre-op requirements were very important to a successful outcome.

Dr. Smith did my VSG surgery at WellStar Kennestone in Marietta, Georgia, near Atlanta, which is a Center of Excellence. I cannot recommend him more highly. Not only is he everything I was seeking in a surgeon: methodical, meticulous and skilled, but he also surrounds himself with the same in his staff and those he works with in surgery. Sue Wood, the hospital coordinator, was so amazing and had so much knowledge and experience as she has been through weight loss surgery herself. The dietician, Cheryl Forbus, was so thorough at making everyone understand the necessary dietary changes and vitamin protocol. They have so many informational sessions and support groups that it is a very all-encompassing program meant to enable us to succeed. An interesting tidbit about Dr. Smith is that his undergraduate degree was in chemical engineering and he not only uses triple row titanium staples but also clips to ensure no leaks, and then follows this with a fibrin sealant glue. I felt very safe and in good hands throughout the entire journey.
