What can I say about Dr. Wernsing.. Very Informative, & Professional.. The office staff were very efficient.. No COMPLAINTS!!!!! Dr. Wernsing is a NO NONSENSE doctor.. He wants to make sure that his patience fully understand what it is that he/she is about to embark upon. He THOROUGHLY STRESSES that the surgery is a TOOL. No compalints.. I would rate him 10+++

He is very soft spoken, and very easy to talk to. The office staff is great not to mention they have very over size seating that are comfortable and a large screen tv in the waitng room. Trust me this is a great Dr. and hocpital.

Dr. Wernsing is a wonderful person! He thoroughly explained all aspects of surgery and answered my questions completely and honestly. His staff is unbelieveable! The program coordinator (Carrie Buckley) is wonderful. She walks you through start to finish and is always there to answer your questions. His assistant (Cindy) is great! She too was available to assist with insurance problems, making appointments for pre-tests, etc. Finally, his nutritionist (Jim Henry) - let me tell you that Jim rocks! He's young and he understands everything. He can tell you what vitamins not to take with others, how to make your protein shakes better, what supplements are better than others and much, much more.

Dr. Wernsing has a very structured program. If you follow through everything they instruct you to do, you will have a pleasant experience before, during and after surgery. This is a wonderful program and I would recommend it to anyone out there who is considering surgery. You will not be disappointed with this program - it's top notch and worth the trip over the bridge!

Overall, I'm extrememly pleased with Dr. Wernsing and his entire staff! I would give them a billion stars and recommend them to everyone out there!!!

Dr. Wernsing is very personable and knowledgable. I have been veery blessed to find such a nice and competant surgeon. All my questions befooore surgery and prior to surgery hae been answered in detail and in words that I can understand and relate to. I am still able to call his office and get questions answered by either himself or his staff. Dr. Wrrnsing and the Bariatricc team stress the importance of support before during and after and I find that the support group meetings are helpful and beneficial to my recovery both physically and mentally. Its important to have that support from others in the same situation. I freely give out Dr. Wernssing's name and number and highly recommend him to others contemplating surgery.

Dr Wernsing is a great fella.Very quiet and easygoing-I enjoyed all of the conversations and appts we had.
Felt he was extremely knowledgeable in this field and provided tons of information to me.He was very straightforward and honest about all the aspects of this surgery and I was very thankful for that.
I feel very fortunate to have such a great surgeon who I trust(and have trusted)with my life.

I first met with Dr. Wernsing on July 20, 2005. It was my inital appointment. There were about 5 or 6 of us that met as a group with the Nurse Practitioner and Dr Wernsing. After they both described the insurance part of it, how long it would take, and answered any questions, they took us back one at a time. First to the NP to discuss insurance and anything to do with my medical file and then to Dr. Wernsing who discussed medical problems and what typ eof surgery would be best. He then answered any personal questions that I had. He is a very nice doctor with excellent bedside manner, but is not one to beat around the bush and I like that. He gets straight to the point and listens to your concerns. He is a younger Dr. Older than me probably but he is an excellent doctor what I have observed so far. He knows his stuff so to speak. He went over the risks throughly! His office staff was nice, but then again I did not have much contact with any of them really. He really didn't emphasize aftercare at this point, but this was only the inital visit. i will see him once more before surgery. There was not anything that i didn't like about Dr. Wernsing, but then again I have only seen him once. I would rate him a 10 out of 10 so far and would recommend him to anyone that needed the surgery. I will post more as a find out more about him.

My first impression of Dr. Wernsing was that he was a little reserved but as I got to know him, I realized that this wasn't the case at all -- he's really normal, makes good conversation and in between that, manages to educate you about this extraordinary thing you are undertaking. He's very down to earth ---I feel like I can ask him anything and even when I don't expect him to know the inormation (like something about a post-op food) he usually surprises me with the answer (his nurse, Cindy, seems to know EVERYTHING though, so I'm never worried about getting the right info during my visits.) The only negative thing I have to say is the administrative staff can be rather terse, which was a little off-putting until I got used to it. I did however, like the efficiency of the office staff. Everything is very organized.
Dr. Wernsing is smart (that's very obvious) but more that that, he seems to really care and worry about his patients. And be warned: He WILL follow up with you post-op re: your diet/exercise, etc. so you'd better know your stuff. He doesn't let you get away with too much or make too many excuses. (I know--I tried!)
I would definitely recommend him.
