I DID NOT MEET DR. DENNING UNTIL THE MORNING OF THE SURGERY AS THE PRE OP DUTY IS TAKEN CARE OF BY THE V.A.M.C. SURGEONS BUT HE WAS VERY WELL ATONED TO HIS DUTIES AND NICE TO TALK WITH.
I haven't meet with Dr Denning , he doing my surgery at the Huntington Veteran hospital, there i have meet with a Dr Canterbury. I have talk with a few vet that had it done there and they all said how good the staff at the hospital was and that Dr Denning was great also .My date is tue 12-21-04 i let you know later
DR. DENNING WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HIS STAFF WAS WONDERFUL!!! I FELT THAT HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER COULDN'T BE BEAT. I WOULD RECOMMEND DR. DENNING TO ANYONE CONTEMPLATING WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY. I DID HAVE MINOR LUNG COMPLICATIONS FOLLOWING MY SURGERY DUE TO BEING INTUBATED, BUT THAT IS REALLY THE ONLY NEGATIVE THAT I EXPERIENCED.
My first Impression of Dr Denning was that he was very friendly but quit man that knew what he was doing. He also didnt have any problems with answering any of my questions and took time to explain things that I didnt understand. I also cant say enough about his staff they are very friendly and always willing to help. I would recommend that anyone in the Huntington, WV area who is considering weight loss surgery to contact his office.
The only thing I know to say about Dr Denning is that I think he's great! He is very professional and yet a very friendly and personable man. He cares very deeply for his patients and spends times with each one to answer any questions.
If I ever have to have surgery for anything ever again I wouldn't hesitate to return to Dr Denning!
His office staff is great too!
Dr. Denning was very professional and very informative about the surgery and riks involved. Was very nice and even took time one evening to come in and check on me after the surgery, alot of doctors leave that up to the resident doctor's. Made me feel very comfortable and confident about the surgery.
My overall rating for Dr. Denning on a scale of 1 to 10 would have to be 20 he is very professional and caring about his pateints.
I had my consultation with Dr. Denning this week. He was very nice and answered my questions very competently. I had met him at a seminar before and my opinion of him hasn't changed since then. I believe him to be a good physician in his field. He is the Chief of Surgery at Cabell-Huntington Hospital at Marshall University. I feel confident that I made a good choice.
He didn't spend to much time in the room with me. Explained the surgery, checked my vitals and left. I know that he's an excellent surgeon so the fact that he didn't spend a lot of time one on one with me didn't bother me. He does his thing and out the door he goes, what doctor don't? Can't really say much about his bedside manner because I didn't spend enough time with him to form that type of opinion, he is quiet though, however, bedside manner doesn't make you a good surgeon. This wouldn't be the first surgery he's done on me or my family, so we all know him. His office staff is friendly and helpful. They do have a structured aftercare program and encourage that you join the support group. Surprisingly he didn't address the risks of the surgery, he did give me a booklet that did, but I didn't ask either, I already know. I would have to rate him as a great surgeon I hope we have a good (long term) surgeon/patient relationship.
I have known Dr. Denning for many years, having worked at Cabell Huntington Hospital for 10 years, taking care of his patients, and later working in his office. As a nurse, I knew what kind of surgeon he was, that's why I picked him to do my surgery. He has operated on many of the nurses and other employees at the hospital. I also work with Dr. Charles Goldman who is also a great surgeon. We have a structured program that is great. We answer all surgical questions. I personally did not have any post op problems. I did have a wait getting my Mt State Blue Cross Blue Sheild approval, almost 4 months. The office and the hospital are now working together to try and get all of the insurance approvals done more quickly...please be patient with us.....I know what it's like to have to wait on this surgery. I would have this done again in a heart beat. It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
