David Chengelis Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
I am really glad I chose Dr. Chengelis. He is a very nice and down to earth guy. He explained the procedure with me and another woman and then saw each of us by ourselves. He seems to be very understanding and is very willing to help and answer any questions you may have. I would rate him a 10 on a scale for 1-10. His office staff is very freindly and helpful.
Dr. Chegelis was / is fantastic. I felt very confident and comfortable with him from the beginning. He had excellent bedside manner and made you feel like a person instead of just another surgery. He strongly emphasizes follow up care for best results and so he can continue to learn and grow as a surgeon. He thoroughly addressed the potential risks of the surgery. When I encountered some minor complications he immediately addressed them. My only complaint is I always have to wait a long time at my appointments. I guess if this is due to him spending quality time with his patients...its worth it. Overall, I would strongly recommend Dr. Chengelis to anyone who is considering lap RNY!
I think Dr. Chengelis and his nursing staff were wonderful. Very compassionate, helpful and reassuring. I liked that they showed great concern about me and my well being. He gave time for you to ask questions, explained the surgery and the risks in detail. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Chengelis and his staff and was very satisifed.
Great guy very personable
none
very helpful, his scheduling person has had the surgery and is very understanding
There really was nothing I disliked about him
He is very caring
yes
We met as a class for 2 hours with an instruction section and then a question and answer session. Hand outs included. The after care program was also included prior with the nutritionist
9.5
Both great, I may be biased because I didn't have any complications but my overall experience was very good
Dr. Chengelis was very informative and caring. He was very thourough in letting me know what to expect. His Nurse has also had the surgery, and he trained with Dr. Krause.
I think he was great, caring and concerned and when I didn't feel up to leaving the hospital on thursday he delayed my discharge to Friday when I felt much better. His aftercare program stresses follow up visits with him and the Wt. Loss Center in Royal Oak with the doctor and nutritionist.
Overall would rate him A++ and recommend him to anyone considering surgery at Beaumont Hospital. I considered one of the WLS speciality hospitals but felt that since that was all they were doing even tho they had the expertise (Maybe) they would be more like an assembly line. The only bad thing was the hospital sent a skinny mini wheel chair to take me to my car on discharge.
I found Dr. Chengelis to be informative and well versed in the surgery. He took his time and answered all of our questions. He was very reassuring in the pre-op room and visited me every day in the hospital, never rushing, always taking his time. He was very professional and he did a great job, I have had no problems since my surgery. Post-op he has been great. I would strongly recommend him, in fact he did my fathers hernia surgery a few weeks ago. I have done my after care with Beaumont Weight Loss Center, they are wonderful.
First impression was he was very nice and knowledgeable. Went over all the risks, procedures, etc in a group then met with him individualy. He seemed very interested in me as a person and not just another surgery case. Office staff Karen was very nice and she called me the very next day with my surgery date!!!!
I loved him ... he didn't rush me in my consult I felt like he would have spent the entire day with me if I requested.
My impression didn't change I have a great feeling from meeting him and those in his office.
I thought he was wonderful and have full faith in his abilities. I just can't wait for the day to come.
He addressed all the risks and explained all the aftercare.
I rate him 100%.
