Dr. Carroll was very interested in my well-being from the get-go. My initial consultation with him was about an hour and a half long. He explained all of my options for WLS and drew diagrams showing what each one would do to my body and the TRUE statistics of each surgery. We decided to go with the Lap-Band due to my personal medical history.

He and his staff have been there for me the entire time. He is caring and kind. I had a complication from the anesthesia and had to be put into ICU. He came and checked on me at least two times. When I was put into a private room, he came and talked to me for about an hour about what had gone on and what I was to expect.

I would recommend him to anyone in Mississippi. He is a wonderful doctor who truly understands the fear and loathing I felt for my body. Luckily, we are beginning to change those feelings.

My first impression of Dr. Carroll was that he is a man of "few words". Over time he seemed to loosen up (or did I?) It seems after a couple, maybe three visits he talks a little more. His office staff has been so very accommodating. They have all just been wonderful. He is very detailed with his information and doesn't mind at all answering as many questions as you may have. He has a very good aftercare program with frequent follow up visits. The wait in his office can be slightly long but he is well worth it. I do believe that his great skills as a surgeon and his belief in what he is doing has been the key to my success with the LAP Band. I give Dr. Carroll and his staff a 10!!

Upon first meeting Dr. Carroll, he seems not to be comfortable around people. Even my 13 year old daughter picked up on that. But after 3 visits with him, he's become more comfortable with me, and I with him. He's always been very professional, but be prepared for a wait. He's extremely busy with too many patients and too little time. But he's worth it!
He's one of only a handful of surgeons who do the lap-band surgery, and he urges his patients to have it done instead of a bypass. He feels the bypass is simply too dangerous, when you can get the same results with fewer complications and risks. I'm happy to have found Dr. Carroll and his very nice staff; they've been an invaluable help to me!

I am a nurse (casemanager) at Baprist and found out thru the internet that dr carroll was one of the few md's in jackson that do the lap band--I madean appt and then waited to see him. His ofice staff have always bent he nicest and will answer the many questions that I have had. My insurance didn't pay at all due to and "exclusion statement" from the employer, but I perservered thru Vocational rehab. Dr Carroll accepted this "pidly"sum for the surgery and the aftercare--he has always been professional, and caring as does his wife, Dr Heath. I was only the 2nd pt to have the lap band done at Baptist hospial and dr carroll was vey patient with the staff durig this learning process. During his first visit, he covered all the differnt kinds of bariatric surgery and why the band would be the best for me. He also told me of the risks and then since I am an RN, helped me to understand how these would be prevented. I also found out from surgical staff, hospital staff, and othere surgeons that Dr Crrolll is young be very experienced and a verrrry good surgeon (told to me by a surgeon who I really respect). His sences of humor is pretty dry and he is always very professional, yet very caring. He willl always tell people that he is not in Bariatric Surgery for the money, but for the people who need his help.
