I had my surgery on June 26, 2008 and Dr. V was the greatest. He was prompt, honest , candid and made me feel relaxed. His bedside manner is the greatest. He is the man! The office staff is also so great. Stephanie and Annie were my worse nightmares, but I will never forget them and will always be greatful for their help. The nutritionist also helped me loose 31 pounds before surgery. When I walked in the door, starting at the front desk, I was made to feel as part of the family. I am very greatful!

I haven't talk to my surgeon face to face in his office, but I met him in one of the seminars he gave about the surgery. It seems that he's very proud of what he does. Very responsible and that he care of what I think or ned to know. Doesn't seem like his doing everything just for the money, instead of helping you out. His office staff are really nice and so far so good. I have my 1srt interview with him tomorrow and I'll let you know how I felt about him a 100%.
Dr. V is the best out there in my book! He is a caring doctor with a wonderful personality. I would recommend him to any and everyone considering surgery. The first time I met him I knew that he knew what he was talking about and was all about his patient's health. He has an equally awesome staff that held my hand through the entire process and still calls to check on me. Even the way that they have things set up is organized so that the patient will understand EVERYTHING right from the beginning. There is an informational seminar that one has to attend before even being considered. In this seminar the surgeries are explained and a slideshow presented. Although I had questions and was not sure, I knew after attending that I wanted the lapband. After the seminar things move kinda fast...as everyone knows there are tests, tests and more tests but all worth it. They handle everything in their office and maintain professionalism through the entire procedure. I would not have had my surgery performed by anyone else. If you are considering surgery, consider Dr. V. He really is THE BEST!
Dr. Voellinger is the sole surgeon on staff at Southeast Bariatrics in Charlotte, NC. (www.southeastbariatrics.com) His practice performs LapBand, RNY, DS and VSG. Dr. V is very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have. He is Southern, has a dry sense of humor and absolutely loves his work. His office staff is also very knowledgeable. There are at least three of his former patients on staff there. The pre and post-surgical care is phenomenal. The office operates its own Yahoo forum for patient support. In addition, they host monthly WLS support meetings that are free for any WLS patient (not just patients of Dr V).
Great first impression; I really liked his patient focused approach and his comprehensive WLS programs. He blew me away when he handed me a printed lap-band \"fill\" schedule that stated that his patients did not have to have an appointment for a needed fill, as they were available every Monday 3-6 in clinic. That means he really cares that his lap-band patients are sucussful and that he will be there for them . . . I sure liked that. rnrnFar exceeded my first lap-band sugeon. The removal and replacement was a breeze for me but in OR over 2.5 hours then to recovery. He was so gentle that I have zero bruises, no pain meds needed, and only soreness the day after...he is good. When there is a cancelation by others, his office has called 2 times for sooner fill opportunities; meaning they are keeping close review as to who is ready for a fill and who is not...I am so overwhelmed at the patient focus of his entire pratices.
