He was very claming, made me feel comfortable and didn't made a remark on how bad it is to be heavy , but let me know there is help. Every time I see him I feel more comfortable. He lets you know he really cares about you as a person and he is there for you. His staff is just as wonderful. I have given his name and number to many of my firends and they know I must like him because I don't like doctors. When ever you have a question and you call they will not push your call away they will answer you. I would rate Dr.Tishler and his staff and everyone at Hartford Hospital Bliss 8 all wonderful, caring, loving, and they a A # 1 100++++++ rn THANK YOU DR. TISHLER
I first saw Dr. Tishler the end of January 2006 at his informational seminar, I was very impressed with his knowledge and his feelings towards his patients.rnWhen I saw him in his office the first time the staff treated me with respect and were very upbeat about everything. They are all very understanding and know the answers that you need. rnHe addressed all of the issues, preop care, post op care, the risks and the outcomes.rnOne of the things that made me really feel confident was the way he treated me once when I broke down in his office. He was very caring and human!!rnWhen I did the \"Walk from Obesity\" he was there to cheer on his patients with his family and they walked the entire walk.rnHis \"team\" at Hartford Hospital was the best also. The nurses, techs and OR staff were very caring and compassionate.
My first impression of Dr. Tishler was that he was very knowlegable in his area of surgery, bariatric surgery. After my second visit, my impression was the same and I had all trust in him to do my surgery. His office staff is just as wonderful as he is. Nina Arnold, the Bariatric Nurse Coordinator, was very compassionate and helped out through the process. Both Dr. Tishler and Nina came to visit me in the hospital room after my surgery which I thought was very nice and showed that they care about each and every patient. Future patients should know that Hartford Hospital is the placed to go for a comfortable process and very caring staff. Dr. Tishler has a structured aftercare program set up where each patient sees him on an interval schedule of 2 weeks, 2 months, 5 months, 9 months, 1 year, and I believe 18 months, but he is always available for appointments in between if needed. The risks of surgery were specifically given and he made sure the risks were understood and that there was a real chance for any of these complications to happen. He didn't sugar coat anything, but made me feel comfortable that I was in good hands. I am 100% satisfied with Dr. Tishler and would recommend him to anyone seeking a bariatric surgeion. His surgical competence and beside manner are both terrific!
Dr Tishler is an amazing man! I interviewed several surgeons before and after him, and I knew the second I met him that he was the one. Not only was he compassionate, he was by far the most patient doctor that I interviewed. Nina Arnold, his assistant, was so organized. I have to say the whole experience from start to finish was amazing and as stressful as all the pre op testing was, I have to say I did not get overwhelmed thanks to Nina!!! Dr Tishler performed my surgery on May 8, 2006 and I have nothing but thanks and praise for the job he did! He and Nina are a 10 in my book!
FROM THE BEGINING I THOUGHT THAT DR. TISHLER WAS GREAT! VERY NICE BED SIDE MANNER. I THOUGHT THAT HE WAS VERY HONEST WITH ME ABOUT EVERY QUESTION THAT I ASKED HIM. DR. TISHLER AND HIS NURSE NINA ARNOLD BOTH ARE JUST EECELLENT AT WHAT THEY DO THE BEST I WOULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN ANYONE ELSE TO HAVE THIS SURGERY WITH. FUTURE PT SHOULD KNOW THAT WE CAN BE VERY COMFORTABLE AROUND HIM NOTHING TO HIDE HE UNDERSTANDS AND HAS MANY PT WHO ARE SMALLER AND BIGGER THEN YOU. DR. TISHLER DOES HAVE A STRUCTURED BEFORE AND AFTERCARE PROGRAM FOR HIS PT TO FOLLOW. BOTH THE DR. AND NINA WILL TALK TO YOU ABOUT ALL THE RISK OF SURGERY . ON AN OVERALL SCALE I WOULD RATE DR TISHLER A 100 HE WAS GREAT I WOULD SELL HIM TO MY FAT DOG IS I COULD HE IS GREAT VERY NICE , BOTH HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER ARE BOTH GREAT THANKS TO MRS. TISHLER FOR LETTING HIM BE A BIG PART OF MY LIFE. AFTER ONE YEAR OF SURGERY I DID HAVE A SMALL PIECE OF SCAR TISSUE AND NEEDED TO GO BACK INTO SURGERY AGAIN WITH DR T. HOWEVER I STILL HAD NO PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN TO SEE HIM MANY TIMES FOR MY FOLLOW UP VISITS AND HAVE SENT FRIENDS TO SEE HIM AS WELL AS MY HUSBAND SO LIKE I HAVE SAID BEFORE IN A NUTSHELL HE IS THE BEST WOULD NOT TRADE HIM IN FOR THE NOTHING IN THE WORLDrnSHELENE
My first impression of Dr. Tishler was that he was a nice guy but didn't look the same in his pic online. I know it's silly but true. He was very informational as far as the procedure goes and didn't hold anything back at all. Which i really liked, don't beat around the bush, with my life, ya know. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. I have to see him again on the fourth of August and I will update then, still waiting on insurance approval and a surgery date.
I am a patient of Dr. Tishler and I also work with him in the operating room. i am his surgical Technologist. I have been working with him since he has started at Hartford Hospital and I am definitely happy that I decided to have my surgery with him instead of going elsewhere. He is a great surgeon. Take that from someone who knows first hand. I just started coming on this website so I don't have any pics up yet. I hope to keep coming to this website.
I had my consultation with Dr. Tishler last Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006. I found him to be down to earth, compassionate, and most of all quite honest. I felt as though he really had my best interests in his heart and not just ready to say "yea you're a candidate", and just looking to perform another surgery. If he was just looking to perform a surgery, which he said he considers Bypass a real challenge and he loves these challanges, he wouldn't have asked me to consider a lap band. Dr. Tishler is rather new to our area, having come to Hartford Hospital to set up their Bariatric program in 2004. There is not much info about him on the OH site but my research showed that he was doing bariatric surgery in Alabama and was specializing in the laparoscopic procedures. He is originally from CT, having gone to local schools before medical school in Chicago, and is also currently an Assistant Professor at UCONN medical school.
His Bariatric Nurse, Nina, is a real peach to work with. She answers e-mails in a promt manner as well as phone calls. She is very professional and doesn't treat you like a number, rather like a special person. She is also very caring and supportive.
Dr. Tishler might not have a ton of surgeries under his belt like some of the other doctors in CT have, and a whole slew of testimonials from patients on the OH site, but my gut instinct told me to go with him. Besides, because he is rather new, the wait between the group session and to meet with him personally after, is a lot shorter.
