I felt that Dr. Nease was very personable. He came in and took the time to talk to me after making a special appointment in the evening to see me since I was traveling from far out of the area. Gave me all my surgical options and I chose the Gastric Bypass. Between Marla, Cynthia and Kim -- they were the greatest. I previously had read all the positive comments from other patients about this program and was skeptical because there were no negative comments -- and after having surgery myself I can honestly say that I don't have one either. I would rate Dr. Nease with an A-PLUS!
My first impression of Dr. Nease was very good. He was very knowledegable and reassuring. After three months working with him my impression is the same. Staff is very friendly and extremely supportive. During the informational seminar he explained the pros and cons of all the surgeries available and left no question unanswered. Very detail oriented.
Dr. Nease is very informed, knows what he's doing, helpful in any questions or apprehensions I had. Assured me that everything would turn out as planned.
Aftercare as far as diet/exerices/does/dont's and all aftercare were carefully explained by Kim Do. I have followed their advise to the letter. Very helpful in weight loss
I rate this Dr. and program an A+ He visited with me throughout my time in the hospital and he responds to any question I have right away - to this day. Bedside manner is excellent and surgical competence is above excellent.
I knew Dr. Nease was special after the first time I met with him. We talked for two hours and during that time he talked with me about why he chose Bariatrics and to do only Bariatric surgery. His dad had been obese and so Dr. Nease understands what it's like to live with this condition. I felt as though he specializes in Bariatrics to help people - not for the $. In fact, I had initially met with a different Dr. in Orange County however, after meeting with Dr. Nease I switched. Dr. Nease emphasized the risks of surgery, explained leakes and the procedures he used to ensure minimum post-op complications.
His office staff is also very nice.
The aftercare program is very thorough and I would advise anyone to use the following eating techniques post-op.
Don't rush or eat too quickly.
Pay attention to your body, chew well and slow down when eating.
Don't take big bites.
This surgery is so worth it - the results far outweigh the initial fear of surgery.
Dr. Nease has a great aftercare program. Our support groups are helpful and we have a great time.
Overall, the staff is great, I had no problems during the entire experience.
I'm just sad to learn that insurance isn't more supportive of the surgery. They pay such a small amount.
Before I met Dr. Nease at the Informational seminar, I was very confused and didn't really know what to expect about the surgery.
His seminar turned out to be very educational and after listening to him, he made me aware of all the risks and I was completely confident that he was the one I wanted to do my surgery. He explains everything in detail and was very thorough. I had done ALOT of research about other the surgery and other Drs., but because he explained everything so well - I was ready!
This has nothing to do with anything, but he's also very cute :-) He thoroughly explained all the risks!!!!!!!
In fact, his whole staff are wonderful people. They will bend over backwards to get me anything I need or I can talk with someone everytime I've called.
If you are seeking a surgeon go directly to this Center!!! Because of the ease I felt from the time I went to the seminar until now...four months later the entire process has gone without one complication.
And now I'm experiencing the superior aftercare process. We are welcome to visit often. There are two support groups, but because I live a distance I am not able to attend. In the post-op class I was informed about how to eat (tiny bites, chew slowly). Each phase of the eating process was broken down into segments which made everything simple to remember. Kim Do, the Program Director, also emphasized which foods were best to eat for maximum nutrition - protein, protein, protein.
My overall experience has been tremendous! I would do it 3x again and again. I feel so much better physically, mentally and emotionally. Better than I imagined.
From the very instant I saw Dr. Nease I felt confident that I had found the surgeon for me. During the Informational seminar he was very thorough about the risks involved with surgery and was took alot of time to answer questions - explaining everything in detail. He was also very friendly which put me at ease.
I attended the seminar four months ago and am now one month post-op. My entire experience has been positive. Everyone in the office is extremely informed and has been sympathetic and understanding anytime I've called.
If anyone is looking for a surgeon I highly recommend Dr. Nease. Email me if you'd like detailed information.
The aftercare program is structured. Kim informs us about everything we are to do post-op with regard to eating - suggests a meal plan to follow. They call me often to see how I'm doing which makes me feel so good. There are also two support groups each month.
My overall experience was excellent. Dr. Nease is very surgically competent and has a bedside manner which made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of.
I had heard from a friend about the program and that the doctor does the laparoscopic surgery. He explained EVERYTHING about the procedure to me. I feel inside like he was to be the one for me because I had met a few other doctors before Dr. Nease but my impression of them was not the same. Dr. Nease is a very nice person but more importantly, experienced! They did a perfect job with the education and made me feel comfortable that I could actually do this. I started out very apprehensive until I talked with the doctor, he answered all my questions and there were quite a few.
I had a very good impression after my first meeting with Dr. Nease at the Carnie Wilson event earlier this year and I had a chance to talk with him further at a smaller lecture that was much more informative. He had a sense of confidence and his knowledge and expertise made me feel comfortable. His staff has given me excellent and quality service. They're not only friendly but the follow-up care is great too. I liked Dr. Nease's extensive medical background especially in weight loss surgery and the personal interest and care that he shows for each of his patients. Yes, I would recommend him highly to other people who are thinking about having this surgery.
I met Dr. Nease at a seminar and he was down to earth and approachable. His office was so responsive and quick to return my calls and very nice. I really feel Dr. Nease cares about his patients and makes sure you really are an appropriate candidate for this type of surgery. He also put up with me bringing my parents and family in to talk with him because they were not convinced I should be having surgery. The doctor talked to them for nearly 2 hours and in the end they felt better about my decision. I was told this was not a quick fix, and that surgery does not equal weight loss (doctor's motto). The classes I had to go to before and after surgery were very beneficial. I've already recommended Dr. Nease to others that don't have other options to lose weight. Even my dad is a convert now and recommending surgery. I was considering going to Mexico because of the cash rates but am so thankful that I didn't do it. I don't believe I would have received the same care and support as I did from Dr. Nease.
He was very personable, informative and approachable. Dr. Nease treats you like a patient and not a number. I could call him directly at any time. His office was also extremely helpful, especially with insurance issues. Even after surgery, Dr. Nease is just as available to his patients. Since nothing is perfect, I give a 9-1/2 for my overall rating of my experience. Yes, I would recommend Dr. Nease for those considering this surgery.
First Impression was good - very personable man, caring, supportive, has a sense of humor. Tells it like it is. This is still my opinion one month later. He was very sensitive to my disability as I am a left leg amputee.
Dr. Nease's staff is great! Very informative, helpful, easy to reach anytime with questions unlike other places we called.
I would highly recommend him.
Yes, I have been advised on the importance of exercise and making sure I eat the foods that were recommended.
Very comprehensive in advising the pre-surgery risks.
Excellent surgeon.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner are of equal importance to me. Dr. Nease's surgical competence was outstanding as he was able to do my surgery laparoscopicly.
