Dr. Lowe is very comfortable to talk to and has a GREAT personality. He's not afraid to crack a joke back at you! He's very informative and is concerned you know all the risk, beneifits and consequences. Dr. Lowe has a strong, secure handshake and a genuine smile. I knew from the handshake I had finally found the right surgeon for me.
My first impression of Dr. Lowe was a good one. He came in the room and made me feel very welcome. He took the time and answered all of my questions and I didn't feel rushed like I sometimes do at other doctor's offices. He was very polite and a strong christian man. I really respected him and he respected me. He made it very clear all of the risk involved but he made me feel like he was going to take excellent care of me. I would rate him overall 9 based on my first impression.
Dr. Lowe was AMAZING. My process went really quickly, and he calmed every single one of my fears. Being so young, I was very scared in the hospital and he mad everything completely better. My first impression of him was just great, he was soft spoken and very calming. Also, he made me feel very confidenct in him because of how easily he answered my questions. His office staff was amazing, we spoke to several other offices first and when we got in touch with his office we had NO doubt that it was the place for us. His liquid diet prepares you for the after part of the surgery and he seems very concerned with after-care. I would recommend Dr. Lowe to ANYONE over any other Doctor or Surgeon I've seen in my whole life. He not only felt like my Doctor/Surgeon but he felt like a friend. There is honestly not ONE negative thing I could think to say about him.
I saw Dr. Lowe at the WLS seminar at Presbyterian Hospital. Something about him struck both my husband and I because he seemed so personable and careful with his answers. I called to schedule my first appointment with the office and was scheduled to see Patti Shue who is his PA. She was great and answered all my questions. She then stated which surgeon have you chosen. I stated Dr. Lowe. She said..well let me go get him so you can meet him. He came in and was just as nice and easy to talk to as I expected. He stated he was there for me for long term care and was ready to help me get started. I will update my comments as time goes on but so far I know Dr. Lowe is the right Dr. for me.
I got to meet my surgeon. His name is Dr. Lowe. He is really nice. He listened to all my questions and answered them without using
"Doctorese." You know the foreign language
only doctors understand! I really enjoyed our visit and look forward to seeing him again for my official pre-op meeting. The nurse that came in to speak with me was very nice as well. I felt as if I had known them both for awhile instead of just having met them.
So far I haven't met him or talked to him yet. He did e-mail me right back after I e-mailed him and told me to call and make a appointment to come and see him. I did that today and my first appointment to see him is November 9th at 12:30. I will let you know everything and how I feel about him and all after my appointment.
I did get a chance to meet Dr. Carl Lowe and my first impression was he had a kind, warm greeting and friendly talk. He was svery nice and talk calming to me. He told me he dealt with Medicaid before so he knows what Medicaid was looking for and what they would and wouldn't take. He was very honest and kind-hearted when he explained everything to me.
The only negative thing there was with my whole experience was the treatment I received from one of the office staff at their office. I can't remeber her name but she has resigned. Dr Lowe was disappointed with me when I came back for my pre-op visit because I had gained 15 lbs.. I explained to him that I had gone to all of my favorites restaurants and held back nothing. I vendicated myself by showing up at the Hospital on the day of surgery with my weight down 27 lbs by following the two week liquid diet regimen that he requires to the letter.
