* What was your first impression of him/her?
Very professional, clean-cut, and intelligent!
* How did your impression change over time?
Has not changed.
* How would you describe his/her office staff?
Obviously, not everyone will be friendly at every moment of the day, but 98% of the staff have been wonderful to work with on a monthly basis. They all seem to take pride and care in their work.
* What did you like least about him/her?
He seemed rushed, but it was understandable.
* What should future patients know about him/her?
To feel comfortable and that you are in good hands!
* How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
Have not taken those steps on my journey yet.
* How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
Since I do my "homework" I know the risks of the surgery, but Dr. Chand was very thorough and is confident my surgery will be a success.
* How would you rate him/her overall?
9.5/10
* Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
Both are great, but since it is my life in the surgeons hands I feel surgical competence overrides just a little bit. I can handle rude bedside manner more than putting my life in the hands of an unsuccessful surgeon!
I have to say I couldn't have gotten any luckier than to have Dr.Chand! Not only is he one of the best surgeons, he is compassionate and caring.
Dr.Chand took the time to explain everything to me prior to surgery so that any questions I had were truthfully answered. The whole team at the Cleveland Clinic took great care of me before and after my surgery.I have talked to many people who didn't have the counseling and support I did through the clinic and they were not able to stay on track.
The hardest part of the surgery was dealing with the pain after the surgery and how long it took to heal. This was my own experience and others may not have had this.I'm not a great believer in pain meds.
The success of this surgery is the ability to make healthier choices after surgery that will enable you to stay on track and make better choices. I would highly recommend Dr.Chand and the Cleveland Clinic to anyone wanting to get a start on a healthier lifestyle.
Dr. Chand and the entire staff in the bariatric unit at Cleveland Clinic have been extremely supportive and very professional in all aspects. I am pleased with my experience and am being closely monitored post surgery. I had adhesions from 4 previous surgeries and a doctor in Youngstown, Ohio refused to work with me but Dr. Chand took the extra step and worked with me safely and thoroughly. I am a number one fan of my surgeon as well as the entire Cleveland Clinic, where every step of my care was handled with expertise.
After meeting Dr. Chand for the first time I knew that he was a great doctor. His bed side manner is awesome! At my appointment prior to surgery Dr. Chand answered all of my questions and or concerns. He made me feel excited and calm. rnrnrnI recomend the Cleveland Clinic and Dr. Chand to anyone who is looking for a Doctor.
I found Dr. Bipan Chand of the Cleveland Clinic to be an excellent surgeron with an excellent bedside manner. He and his staff visited me daily while I was in the hospital. He came highly recommended by CCHS staff and I am grateful and fortunate that I had him as my surgeon. I feel his experience and expertise are why my progress and results have been so positive. It sometimes takes awhile to see Dr. Chand but it is worth the wait and his fellows are quite knowledgable and friendly as well. (I loved Dr. Mikhail). I have also found Dr. Chand to be quite thorough. If a test needs to be done, he will always err on the side of caution and order it. Again, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Chand. Anyone having him for a surgeon is definitely fortunate.
I liked Dr. Chand from from my first visit. He was very upfront about everything. His office staff is wonderful. The scheduling is a little crazy at times but afterall it is the cc. Sometimes the wait was a little long. I would not have wanted any other surgeon to have taken care of me. I live in another state so I had to stay in Cleveland for a week but it was well worth it to have Dr Chand as my surgeon. He was very careful to address the issues of my lung disease and for me to stay on track with my aftercare. I would rate dr chand a 99 out of 100. (nobody is perfect)lol He had a great bedside manner and his competence was well above the regular standard of care. Thank you dr chand--I can honestly say that I would trust him to operate on my family without a moment of hesitation.......and Ruth is an awsome asset.
My first impression was that he was very attractive...But the main thing was that he does his job well. I asked some people at the hospital and they had nothing but great reviews to say about him. rnrnThe staff at the hospital (Cleveland Clinic) are wonderful and very supportive. They seem to have very good attitudes which is a good thing to have while working with people like me who are going through a 'brand new' life change.rnrnAfter my surgery on 5/5/08 I will come back and give you more info. If you have any for me contact me on my page 'BeautyQueen'. Thanks......
The first time I met Dr Chand was in a meet that we had to go to when we were excepted into the program.. he was very soft spoken and very calm! My first face to face meeting with him will be on March 14th. rnrnMarch 14th was a long time ago LOL... but Dr Chand was a cutie.. LOL very calm, easy going.. he knew what we were talking about when we discussed my RSD ... he wanted a sleep test done.. I thought it was kind of funny but I said ok.. I never had a problem sleeping .. but sure enough I have sleep apena... and he knew it.. (what a smart man!) His staff is A++++ rnThere is never a time that I call up that they are not courteous... and always pleasant .... I am never a bother at all... and I am educated in what will happen before the surgery and after as well... nothing is left out. rnrnI am going to see Dr Chand for the Second time on April 23rd this is only the second time I have seen him since I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I know he has tired his best to get this surgery cleared with my insurance co. so I trust him. I have heard many nice things about him, so we shall see when I go next week. I am hoping that they will go along with what I need done before the surgery in order to keep my RSD calmed down so it won't flare up.
