My first visit with Dr. Kramer went very well. My husband was with me and he is a little skeptical about this surgery. Dr. Kramer was great at making sure we understood all that the surgery includes. I am so thankful to have such a capable doctor so close to home! Plus his office staff is very nice when I call...
Dr. Kramer has an awesome support group that meets EVERY Monday night, that seems pretty incredible to me. That is sacrificing alot of time.
I haven't had my surgery yet but so far I am comfortable with Dr. Kramer and I am ready to trust him completely to do my surgery.Dr. Kramer is the most kindest Dr. I have ever met,and his personlity is great. The first time I met him was at the Group Support Meetings that he has.He acts more like your friend than a Doc.He makes sure you are aware of the risks involved as much as the rewards are of having this WLS procedure. When I went for my first consultation with him I wasn't all nervous like I usually am with most of my other Dr's.He goes over everything very well, when I left the office I was well informed of what's ahead. His staff are very nice to work with ,they are there to do everything to make this journey as smooth as possible....These are my personal opinons and the impressions I recieved with my office visit and Group Support Meetings.
I had surgery on May 28th,2003 with Dr Andrew Kramer. I had done alot of research about the surgery itself and then was faced with finding a surgeon. I looked in Tennesse( where i live), Florida ( where I'm from) and Georgia. The more I researched, the more I kept hearing about this wonderful surgeon- Dr Kramer. I saw he was in Lebanon, Va and thought there was no way my insurance would provide coverage. I let it go for a few months and one day I was checking our insurance book, looked up Virginia and saw Dr. Kramer was on our list of providers! I met with Dr Kramer and immediatly knew I was in the right place. He and his staff treat everyone with total respect and take time to answer any questions. He is a very skilled surgeon, warm and funny, and he truly cares about his patients. He has a great aftercare program and has support meetings once a week. Anyone considering the surgery- should definitly talk to Dr Kramer. He's the absolute best!
Dr. Kramer was very friendly and informative about the surgery and made me feel comfortable and at ease.
I was more confident about Dr. Kramer doing the surgery. He was very caring and helpful.
The office staff was very friendly and didn't mind me asking questons i.e. where the office was to have the tests made. Very nice on the phone too.
There was nothing least to like about him. He was always kind and considerate of my feelings.
Patients should know, in my opinion, that Dr. Kramer is one of the finest surgeons I have met. He is there for you 24/7. I'm sure there are other surgeons that are great but in my area of Virginia he was the best for me.
Dr. Kramer told me everything I should know about aftercare and if I should have a question, just call his office and he will give me the answer. Also he has a meeting once a week to keep everyone there informed of everything.
Dr. Kramer told me of the risks at the first meeting and then it was me decision whether or not to have the surgery. He didn't try to talk me into having the surgery nor did he try to talk me out of it. It was completely my decision.
I have nothing bad to say about Dr.Kramer as he is one of the finest surgeons in my area that I know of. I would rate him excellent.
To me surgical competence is better but bedside manner is also good for the patient as it makes them feel more confident, comfortable and that the surgeon really cares.
All of the above statements are my impressions only from my experiences. Each person must make their own impressions from their own experiences.
My first impression of Dr. Kramer was very positive. He took the time to explain everything, the risks and benefits, and answered all my questions. I only trusted him more as my surgery date grew closer. His staff is wonderful. They are very understanding and patient. Sitting in the waiting room is like a support group meeting. Dr. K. has a great aftercare program, and he's very candid about what will happen if you don't follow his suggestions. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are great. He is just the nicest doctor!!!! Would do it again if he were the surgeon!!!
I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS FOR ABOUT 18 MONTHS AND HAVE ALWAYS PUT LEBANON AND DR. KRAMER OUT OF MY MIND, SIMPLY BECAUSE I COULD NOT GRASP THE FACT THAT THIS KIND OF THING COULD BE DONE RIGHT IN SUCH A SMALL TOWN. I FINALLY GAVE IN AND CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT, NO PROBLEM.
MY HUSBAND WENT WITH ME TO MEET DR. KRAMER WE WERE TRREATED WITH RESPECT FROM THE WORD GO, THAT IS OFTEN NOT THE CASE IN DOCTORS OFFICES.
DR. KRAMER WAS POLITE AND SEEMED RATHER FORTHRIGHT -- NO SUGAR COATING-- VERY IMPORTANT. HE ADDRESSED MY CONCERNS AS WELL AS THOSE OF MY HUSBAND BY TALKING WITH US BOTH. THAT WAS SO NICE, IT OFTEN IS NOT THE CASE. I THINK I WILL BE PLEASED WITH MY CHOICE.
My first impression of Dr. Kramer was that he is in the business of WLS for all the right reasons....he seems to have all the bases covered, as far as pre-testing and getting to know his patients as individuals. I was also a little wary about the size of the hospital where he perfoms his surgeries (Russell County Medical Center), because it seems so small, but he seems so thorough and competent thus far, that I'm no longer worried about that. I also like the fact that he's in such close contact with the support groups (both in-person and online) that are made up of his current and former patients....everyone really seems to like him!! He was also very good about addressing the risks of the surgery, and about answering my questions.
When I first Met Dr. Kramer I thought he was very assertive, but then he began to warm up and he is so very nice and funny too. I think that he likes to stick to business but he has a very warm side to him. His office staff is extremely friendly especially Kathy who helped me set up my appointments. He really has a good aftercare support group where he is there and we can ask questions. He was very honest about the risks of the surgery and also the risks of being obese.
So far I would reccomend him to anyone.
I meet Dr. Krammer for the first time 2-14-03. I was very impressed with his knowledge of obesity and his attitude toward obese people. I was also impressed with the efficient and producive manor in which I was assigned an appointment and the fact that I was seen at my appointment time!
I had been on a waiting list for over a year with another surgeon. When I was told that I had at least another 6 months to go before I would be given an appointment I began searching the internet for another surgeon. That is when I found Dr. Krammer.
I was given an appointment the same day I called for just two weeks away. Needless to say, I was very impressed.
Dr. Krammer described in detail the risks associated with the surgery. He provided me with a manual that describes the dos and don'ts for the surgery and after surgery care. He requires his patients to attend support-informational meetings on Monday nights before and after surgery.
