Dr. White just moved to Roanoke, VA from NYC,NY and I am glad he did. He is very informative and helpful...very honest and has a great sense of humor. He is really there to help you get healthy and wants a followup for at least 5 years. So far I am very impressed with him.
Dr. White is a very committed surgeon and he is very strict. If he wants you to lose weight, you had better or he will not commit to do the surgery! I am down to the wire on the surgery (Dec 16) and he is still wanting me to lose weight before then. He wants me to lose 6 pounds that I have gained over Thanksgiving or he will cancel surgery...

I've only met with Dr. White once. He actually did start in Bronx, NY but he just recently moved here where I live in Roanoke, VA. He has been said to be "the BEST". He is very professional and is very careful to only take patients who are totally committed to the program. He will NOT take on a patient with a BMI over 60, and if you smoke (which I do not), you MUST QUIT BEFORE SURGERY. Also..he says you MUST exercise 30 minutes a day from the moment he meets with you and each day thereafter..this is because he wants to help prevent a pulmonary embolism (the number one cause of post op death)..I think all of this makes him a great choice for a surgeon because he IS so careful..

I was very pleased with Dr. White. He is not in NY anymore but instead he is in Roanoke, VA. He seems to be compassionate and really know what he is doing. He strongly emphasizes aftercare for 5 years prior to surgery.

I don't want to give my opinion on my doctor.
