David Thomas Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. David Thomas, a native Texan, attended undergraduate school at the University of Texas at San Antonio and went on to earn his MD degree from Texas Tech-School of Medicine. After completing his residency in general surgery at Keesler Medical Center in Mississippi, he became a staff surgeon for the US Air Force. His professional affiliations are with the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery, and Air Force Clinical Surgeons. Dr. Thomas enjoys being a bariatric surgeon because he has the ability to change people’s lives in a dramatic and meaningful way. His philosophy of care is that each patient is unique and deserves a unique approach to weight loss. Dr. Thomas is committed to helping his patients find a weight loss solution that helps them achieve their personal goals. His commitment is evident not only in the attention he gives his patients, but to his family as well. Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, especially when it involves his favorite hobby: fishing off the coast of Texas.
