Wow, this has been a journey. Dr. Chauhan had repaired a hernia in Jan of 2018. Then, recently I under went a sleeve gastronomy, more hernia repairs, and removal of adhesions from my small Intestines. I could not ask for a better experience that Dr. Chauhan and his team provided. He has a great bedside manner! You feel that he knows you and that he really cares. I am about three weeks out and feeling great.
Dr chauhan saved my life. I had a sleeve 4 years ago ot as I thought that was what was done. I ended up with my stomach all twisted up bad and idle hernia that was bad. I had erosion and damage to my esphosgus bad from acid. Now i am feeling great and very thankful for dr chauhan and his whole staff they r amazing. Xoxo
My life has been forever changed by Dr. Chauhan! I was so nervous about the surgery, and knew this was a very last resort. I went to every appointment anxious and with more questions, and within a few short moments he was able to help me feel calm, and answer every single one of my questions. I would not have trusted anyone else to do this surgery but him. I look forward to seeing him at every appointment, and know my questions will be answered. There are not enough words to describe my outstanding experience so far.
I had Bariatric surgery back in 2015 where the sleeve was performed through Rose Medical Center which failed A little over two years ago was referred to University Dr. Chauhan I meet with him and about a 2nd surgery that needed to be perform due to the failure of the sleeve I had back in 2015. He took measures that no other doctor I think would have done considering the situation and the circumstances not to mention a second needed surgery He took the necessary measures to see that I would get back into good health. My sleep was converted to a gastric bypass which he performed and did a fantastic job not only did he care about me as a patient but he also cared about the well-being of my health and my future. He didn’t perform the surgery on me because it was just something to do he performed the surgery on me that I needed and took great care of me keeping me informed of the Before and after and does a great job at calling and following up with me about my health my weight loss and what to look for it in the near future I’d recommend this doctor to anyone Who is considering gastric bypass. I feel safe with my DR. He’s the best DR I’ve meet.
Let me just say I love this man!!!! He has changed my life with this gastric sleeve. I struggled with H-Pylori for 10 years and nothing was helping my miserable symptoms plus I had gained almost 100 lbs during this time. After my surgery my stomach bacteria is gone. My pain has dissipated and my excess weight is coming off. I have my life back. I love love love UC Health for recommending me for the weight loss surgery and introducing me to DR. CHAUHAN. Hes so funny and down to earth. He has made sure I'm back to normal and noth myself and my husband are beyond d grateful. I can't thank him enough. My dietitian Denise Carruth is amazing as well. I couldn't be this happy without them.
I want to begin this review by saying that Dr. Chauhan has completely turned my life around!! I had been struggling with my health the past 10 years and was beginning feel like there was no hope for me. I had a debilatating cough and was aspirating acid into my lungs due to my issues with acid reflux. When I came to Dr. Chauhan I had already had two Nissan wraps to address the acid reflux issues. I also was suffering from slow gastric emptying and a hiatal hernia. Dr. Chauhan worked with my thorasic surgeon to undo my Nissan wrap and fix the hiatal hernia. Dr. Chauhan performed a gastric bypass on me to fix the slow gasric emptying and correct the acid reflux issues. Dr. Chauhan is a remarkable surgeon and my recovery has been very easy. I traveled from Georgia to have my surgery with Dr. Chauhan. I rented a home in Denver for a month so that I could recover and be close to my doctors before returning to Georgia. I feel so blessed to have had Dr. Chauhan as my doctor and will always be one of his biggest fans. Dr. Chauhan is one of the kindest men you will ever encounter. You can rest easy if you have Dr. Chauhan in your corner and know you are getting the best medical care available!!
I simply can not say enough about Dr C. I've suffered almost 50 years with a hiatal hernia, to some degree or another. As I entered my 60s it became unbearable and the quality of my life had deteriorated. I had Kaiser insurance 4 years ago and they performed a partial and then a full Nissan Wrap. Neither worked to pull my stomach out of my esophagus. I then changed jobs and had new insurance. I went to a " specialist " that determined my stomach emptied too slowly, due to damage to the Vegas Nerve from the Nissan Wrap. He felt this would solve the problem and prescribed medication that had potentially dangerous an irreversible side effects. I said no thanks. I gave up hope until I changed jobs and got new insurance and was able to See UC Health. With a referral to Dr Chauhan, my life had hope again that I could stop waking up every night with stomach acid in my lungs and nasal passages. Even though I didn't have surgery for weight loss, it has been a wonderful side effect. He was kind, reassuring, and took a lot of time drawing pictures for me of my insides and what he was going to do and what to expect. I had surgery in August, have lost almost 25 pounds and will be grateful the rest of my life for this amazing and kind man who entered my life. I now sleep through the night, have no more pain, and feel wonderful again. Thank you, Dr C.
I had a RNY in Feb of 2017 by another Surgeon that was then revised 5 times by that surgeon as well as another with no success. I was unable to process any foods and was throwing up 30-35 times daily. After serveral ER visits, I was prescribed to go on TPN to add nutrition directly into my bloodstream through a PICC line. My throwing up was reduced to about 7 times a day then through medication, I was down to 1-3 times a day throwing up. I was on TPN for nearly a year and was referred to Dr Akshay Chauhan, After several visits for testing and endoscopy's, he scheduled and performed my Reversal Surgery which was completed in Oct 2018. I've not thrown up as of this review and feel like I have my life back thanks to Dr Chauhan.

Dr. Chauhan has been the kindest man and doctor in his field. He has taken good care of me thru the process of my hiatal hernia, gallbladder removal, and recovery. Because I live so far away its been difficult to come to Denver, however he has made a difference in my health. I wouldn't trust another doctor touching my Gastric Bypass issues and recovery. I fully recommend this doctor above any doctor in our State!!!!!
In the beginning my experience was a little rocky but with the encouragement for my surgeon and just barely reaching my goals to qualify for my surgery I must say doctor Chauhan. Was the most patient and kind surgeon I have ever met he did a wonderful job not just with my surgery but with keeping me focused on the task at hand I highly recommend him for any bariatric surgery especially if you are very doubtful not only of yourself but of the procedure he gave me great clarity and understanding of what I was about to endure and it's been a great experience that's far and I am proud to say that I am 40 lbs down for my surgery wait and I am only 4 days away from being a month out I would also like to take time out to thank him for being so kind and understanding.
