I am in the last stages of my pre-op testing and clearance with Dr. jean-Pierre, and I must say the process has gone a lot smoother than I expected. The entire staff of WCBS is extremely committed to their mission, and quite honestly, it almost feels like a small family. I always get the feeling they are genuinely concerned about me, and I am not just another nameless patient. Dr. Jean-Pierre is very thorough, and frank about expectations, and possibilities surrounding my procedure (DS). Most importantly I do not feel patronized when I ask questions. I do not know if it is just the medical profession, but some of my other Dr’s can be quite condescending when I ask questions. Dr. JP is understanding and patient.
The office staff is friendly, professional, and pro-active, and everyone takes their time to make sure you understand the process and expectations. One thing I am very satisfied with is that they set very reasonable and realistic expectations. If I had my choice, I would have had the surgery the same day I went to the seminar. Unfortunately, it does not work that way and there are several variables that need to be considered prior to surgery. Now, that I am at the end of pre-op process I can say that I definitely know what I am getting into, and I think that is one of the main tenets of Dr. JP and WCBS: patient advocacy and support.
I am going to preclude this with the disclosure that prior to becoming a patient of WCBS, most of my other docs were Wellstar affiliated, and I was able to complete all my pre-op consultations in two weeks. Dee is very detailed when she sits down and goes over your responsibilities in the process, but it is clear that that patient holds the responsibility of making sure the requirements are met.
WCBS has exceeded my expectations and I recommend them without reservation.

Dr Jean-Pierre was very kind and well versed in the VSG procedure...he is also tri-lingual which made my husband and myself understand the pros and cons with any surgery that and the support and educational information provided by his staff in my long journey makes me secure in promoting this Wellstar team!!

He was absolutely wonderful! His bedside manner is fabulous and he makes you feel comfortable right from the start! So friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Menachery talks to you like a normal person and not like a doctor, if that makes sense. He loves what he does and it shows. He is very straight forward and to the point. Aftercare is an absolute must for him. I have to go to appointments at certain intervals after surgery. He really emphasizes excercise and will get on you if you don't, which I think is great. I honestly haven't had a bad experience with him. There was a mix up with my surgery time though and I showed up at the hospital at 5am and didn't have surgery until 11am but it was fine. It gave me time to talk to my family before surgery and I liked that.
