USC Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
I thought Dr. Crookes was just wonderful, he has a very hectic work schedual and if very kind and loving.
I still love him and am amazed he can still show so much happiness for me and my accomplishment.
His office staff does everything within their power to get messeges to him and to work your appointments around your schedual.
I liked everything about him.
I have regularly schedualed follow-up appointments with him and keep them.
Yes he has a great aftercare program which includes a nutritionalist you can see everytime you have an appointment.
He told me of all the risks and wether he thought I would be a good candidate for the surgery, I have seen him deny people who have greater risk factors.
I love him, and thank God for bringing him into my life.
Both are great, I have no complaints.
My first impression of Dr Crookes was he was delightful and friendly. When I got to know him, my impression broadened to include highly skilled surgeon, very professional, with a human touch. There really isn't anything I don't like about Dr Crookes. Future patients should know that he is a genuine caring healer. He cares about each of his patients, and does his absolute best for each and everyone of them.He stresses aftercare. Dr Crookes himself is always someone to look forward to ;Dr Crookes never makes you feel rushed or hurried. Overall Dr Crookes is a fabulous surgeon, with a wonderful record, and an exquisite bedside manner.
My first impression was of a little Irish man that looked so kind. He turned out to be kind and very humerous. The office staff are very nice and helpful. My surgery went very well and Dr. Crookes explained everything before hand and so did his assistant Maria. They tell you all the risks. There is no doubt about what you are about to go through. He also came in to see me every day after surgery and has a wonderful bedside manner.I went for my three week check and saw the dietician at the same time. He has a very structured aftercare program.
He is a wonderful man and surgeon and I would highly recomend him to anyone.
I first met Dr. Katkhouda about a year before my surgery. The meeting was to the point, a list of thing to follow for pre op and I was told to lose about 20 pounds. I was vey disappointed and felt kind of let down, I did notice he was very busy. I looked into another place for the surgery and was about make a appointment when I realized I was being very impatient and petty. It has taken me awhile to get to the weight I am today and I thought Dr Katkhouda could in one day cure it all. Well I put my self pity aside lost the 20 pounds and waited 10 months for that call from Dr Katkhoudas office to come. I thank myself for having the patients to wait for the best.
Dr Katkhouda is the best and sweetest Dr. I received visits from him and his Fellows 2 to 3 time a day while I had my 2 day stay. I could not have had better care from USC hospital staff to Dr Katkhouda amd his staff. At my 14 days after visit Dr Katkhouda was most sweet and kind and took the time to go over more info I needed. I feel he is the BEST and well worth the wait.... He is just amazing.
I've seen Dr. K only once during the initial consultation. He was nice and get to the point. I heard from other patients that he has no bedside manner, however, his surgical competence is very high. His office staff seems to be nice and helpful. I prefer a surgeon with high surgical competence than having great bedside manner. All I care about is safe, safe and safe.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. CROOKES WAS THAT HE SEEMED TO BE A HONEST,CARING MAN AND THAT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME. HIS OFFICE IS VERY BUSY AND SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO GET THROUGH TO THEM AND FOR THEM TO FOLLOW UP ON THINGS. ONCE YOU GET GOING EVERYTHING MOVES VERY QUICKLY, AFTER SURGERY DR. CROOKES WAS VERY GOOD AT LETTING MY HUSBAND KNOW ALL THE DETAILS AND HE WAS ALSO VERY GOOD ABOUT COMING IN TO SEE ME EACH DAY AND WORKING WITH ME TO GET ME OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AND HOME. HE DID SURGERY ON FRIDAY THE 14TH. OF JAN. AND I WAS RELEASE TO GO HOME ON MONDAY THE 17TH. DR. HAS ME COMING IN ON THE 2ND. OF FEB. FOR MY 3 WEEK FOLLOW-UP VISIT AND THEY ALSO HAD ME SEE MY PRIMARY DOCTORS JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER SURGERY SO THAT HE CAN FOLLOW UP ON ME ALSO SINCE I LIVE SO FAR AWAY FROM DR. CROOKES. THE DR. MADE SURE I UNDERDSTOOD THE RISKS OF SURGERY AND WHAT KIND OF SURGERY HE HAD SELECTED FOR ME AND WHY HE CHOSE THE RNY. I FOUND THAT DR CROOKES WAS NOT ONLY VERY SURGICALLY COMPENTENT BUT HIS BED SIDE MANNER WAS GREAT AND BOTH OF THOSE WERE IMPORTANT TO ME. AS FOR RATING HIM, I DO NOT THINK THAT YOU COULD ASK FOR ANY BETTER DOCTOR.
Only met the dr. once before surgery and he was having a bad day. I had full confidence in him from what I learned at his seminar. His staff is the best and very helpfull. My surgery was scheduled on a Monday, however it didn't happen because of other priorty surgeries. Dr. offered to let me stay at the hospital overnight at no cost to my insurance knowing that I lived 2 1/2 hrs. away. It was the worse rain season we were having in California. Dr. Katkhouda is a wonderful surgeon and is highly recommended. It took me a year from the time I went to his seminar to finally get a scheduled surgery date. But the wait was worth it. The only thing that I had wished in all this is that I had actually seen the Dr. at least once more before my surgery date. I had forgotten what he looked like until he came to see me in pre-op room.
DR K,
Was very personal and open with me. From the ver begining it was obvious that I was confused and scared. He and his staff were comforting.
His nurse gave me an email address that she actually responded to right away.
Dr. K and his partners (other surgeons @usc
held a seminar with films, talks and facts. Open questions from the floor were all responded to and I gained a very clear knowledge of what was goin on.
I Love Dr. K and Maria
