Dr. Baker means what he says, and you have to do what he wants you to do. It is for the best of your intrest. He will help you as long as you help yourself. He is a great guy. He is recognized by a lot of other doctors in the Little Rock area, they will recommend him. I haven't heard anything bad about him. I love his staff. They work very hard everyday to help every patient. He works very carefully in surgury. His office nurse Addie is the best nurse I have ever had and she is there every time I need her. Everybody I know says they would not use anybody else. Dr. Baker knows what he is doing and does great at it. Just attend one of his siminars. Don't bring a soft drink, he will tell you to throw it away. Sometimes it is hard to get some answers from Christy which dose all the insurance paperwork, because she is so busy but she will get back with you.
It was suggested I attend Dr. Baker's seminar to review my options. I arrived at his seminar expecting to hear same spill as another seminar I attended with of course the sucessful patients to show results. What I got was a very perfessional physician who starts out with who he was and his thoughts about the american people and being over weight, how he is involved with the government to show them why the Healthcare Industry could help, how I could also get involved and help, and all the reasons why I needed to think about this surgery I was considering. He talked about all the life changing things that needed to be considered. He talked about the progress after surgery and that it would not be an over nite success story. It would take hard work and determination by me to be successful. I was told how Dr. Baker was a very strict doctor. More or less it was his way or no way. I was scared to death when I went into my consult with him! I knew that I needed that but was I ready for him? When I left my visit I knew that I was going to be sucessful because I had the power standing beside me, that would be the will power of Dr. Baker for me to be sucessful. Dr. Baker and his staff are wonderful to work with. I myself have had no complications but with keeping in touch with others I know if I do you can reach him anytime and he will do what has to be done to make sure you are taken care off. In rating Dr. Baker from a 1 to 10, I would give him a 10+. I am so glad I attended his seminar and chose him to be my surgeron.
Had my pre-op visit with Dr Baker. He was so encouraging and nice. He really made me feel at ease. He seemed as excited as I am about this new phase in my life. I had heard that he was direct and would get on to people if they weren't making changes in their life to prepare for surgery. I have made changes, but was still nervous about meeting him. I really thought he was going to grill me and make me prove that I wanted the surgery. So many people had told me he'd do that. He didn't do that at all. He asked very good questions to make sure that I've thoroughly considered everything, but wasn't too direct or cold like I had expected. In fact, he was just the opposite. I feel very good about having him as my doctor, and really like him as a person.
My first impression of him was not a good one. He is \"in your face\", blunt and to the point. He was just plain mean in my eyes. After my surgery however, he was a pussy cat! I think he just wanted to make sure I wanted this, and would stick to the program. His office staff are EXTREMELY helpful, but very to the point. I could not have chosen a better doctor!
I'm very happy with Dr. Baker.
I went to meet Dr. Baker with the thought that he was going to be strict and stern, but to be honest, I did not get that feeling at all. I felt very comfortable talking with him, and listened to every word he said to me. rnMy second time I met him (to see how I was doing on the pre-op shakes) he was all cheers and compliments to me, about how well I was doing with the pre-op shakes. He definitly made me blush.rnHe was very caring towards me and saw me every day that I was in the hospital after surgery. When I woke from surgery he was the first person I saw and I felt that all was okay. rnHe has a very good aftercare program, and it is pretty much failsafe, if you just follow what the paperwork says and what he tells you, there is pretty much no room to fail at this. rnMy overall rating with Dr Baker is a 10+ He is an excellent surgeon and had a really great bedside manner. rnAll I can say to future patients is to be yourself, don't hide anything, be totally honest when you speak to him. I believe he truly cares about all of his patients. And he does have beautiful blue eyes!!rn
Dr. Baker can be described in one word \"intense\". I liked him, he was interested, attentive, and caring. rnHis office staff is great, a little disorganized, but great, very caring.rnHe talks a lot about post care...really wants you to excel. rnYes, he addressed all the risks.rn
My first impression of Dr. Baker is that he truly cares about obesity as an epidemic and helping obese individuals. That impression has stayed with me both times I have met him. His staff is very friendly in person. On the phone, they seem a little eager to get OFF the phone. (I understand that, they're busy.) I don't have anything that I dislike about him so far. Future patients should know that he is no-nonsense, direct and honest. (He has beautiful blue eyes too that almost hypnotize you if you look into them while he's talking to you. It's weird - I'm not kidding.) He really puts an emphasis on aftercare, even going so far as to say that he doesn't want you for a patient if you aren't going to do the aftercare. He does have a structured aftercare program that is really supportive. He is blunt about the risks of surgery in his seminars and in all the paperwork you have to sign. I would rate him a 10 out of 10. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are great.
My first impression of Dr. Baker was not very good, I thought his personality was very brusque and not friendly at all. But, during my stay in the hospital Dr. Baker was awesome...he was very friendly, answered any and all questions. He was also very congenial to my family and friends who were there with me, and answered all of their questions as well.rnrnHis office staff is just awesome, wonderful people...the only thing is they tend to be a bit unorganized and have problems staying on top of things unless encouraged frequently by patients.rnrnDr. Baker has STRICT instructions for his preop and postop patients, and his patients have been extremely successful following these plans! They really aren't that hard.rnrnOverall, I am extremely glad I chose Dr. Baker and would definitely reccommend him to anyone.
Dr Baker was soft spoken and to the point. I felt at frist like he knew what he was doing and explained it to me. Dr Baker is soft spoken which made it at times hard to hear him, he also seem to think you understand all the big medical words I had to ask him more then once what did he say which I think he felt like I was a dummy. Dr Baker seemed to not like it if you came into his office not pepared. You need to know before you see him that you need to have all the paper work done and have gone thru all the steps to his program.I really have not changed my impressions of him .Dr Baker is still the best surgeon. Dr Bakers office staff is another story. They seem to always be looking for things and seem to be over remled with thier work. They do not tell you that your frist visit will be an all day event and if you are going to do your per op the same day that takes a little while also. in all I spent 6 hours that day. They do try to work with you if you are coming in from some other place other than LR. which does make your day long. I just wished I knew that befor hand so I could have made plans for my kids. they do not returen your calls or emails on a timly manner. But when you do get a hold off them they are very nice and seem to be working on your case. Christy & Becky seem to care about you even if you are bugging them all day. If you are looking for a great surgeon then Dr Baker is the person you want. Just know that your frist visit is all day long and do not get the impression that the staff runs around with thier heads cut off, becuse under all the maddes there is a well ran office. Dr Baker makes you go to semiars and support groups and he has a great aftercare program. The support group is great and I cant wait until I get to stand up and state I have lost 50lbs or more Dr. Baker has made sure I understand all the risk and how to take care of myself after the surgery. I feel that he has made sure my husband and myself understood this was a life changing event and not a quick fix to my weight . I would say over all Dr. Baker is one of the best in his feild.
