My 1st impression was that he is tall and I thought he might be a typical cocky surgeon type. But then he sat down and was relaxed and very down-to-earth.
He remains the most approachable doctor I have ever met and it is an honor to be one of his patients. He also has a wonderful sense of humor.

The thing I like the least, is that he is not in Columbus. But, he is well worth the drive.

Future patients should know that his skill is only matched by the amount he cares for his patients.

Aftercare is very important to Dr. Curry, just as important as the surgery itself. There are scheduled follow up visits and support group meetings. Plus, he is accessible all of the time through his website, patient portal, Obesity Help, his office, and the hospital.

Dr. Curry is very good at explaining the entire procedure and letting you know exactly what the risks of having, and not having, the surgery are.

Dr. Curry is more than excellent. He is a gifted surgeon and a special person. WLS is lucky to have him.

Puts your mind at ease about WLS, explains benefits without making you feel like he's trying to "sell" you something.

My husband and I liked Dr. C. from the minute we met him. He was very informative, very honest and genuinely enthusiastic about what he does. You could tell he is passionate with his work. He answered all of my questions without hesitation and I am well informed about the risks of surgery. He stressed the fact that he will always be my bariatric Dr. and I will see him regularly after surgery. More frequently in the beginning and then yearly. He also emphasized how important after care is. He has a great bedside manner which is a rarity these days and I wouldn't dream of letting anyone else operate on me. There were times that I needed an answer to something and was surprised to get either a call from Dr. Curry or an email from him and I'm preop! I know how busy he must be so it is obvious he takes the time to help all of his patients no matter what stage of the process you are in. His main office moved even though he retained privileges at Deaconess and luckily he's still in Cincinnati. When I first heard he was "moving" I had made my mind up that I would follow him wherever he went - even out of state! We absolutely love him and I know I will be in good hands.

I VISITED WITH DR. CURRY TODAY. FINALLY MENT THE DR THAT I READ SO MUCH ABOUT ON THE MESSAGEBORADS.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS THAT HE WAS IMPRESSIONABLE. I WAS AT EASE WITH HIM RIGHT AWAY. I REALIZED THAT I WAS TALKING TO A TRUE PROFFESSOINAL. HE GAVE US A MINI SEMMIAR WITH VIZUAL AID. I COULD SEE WHAT IS DONE WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT SURGERYS. VERY INTERESTING. I WAS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND VERY EASILY WHAT WAS GOING TO BE DONE DURING SURGERY AND THE RISKS.
I FOUND THAT DR CURRY ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I'D HAD AND WONDERED ABOUT. QUESTIONS THAT I'VE SEEN ON THE MESSAGEBORADS. LIKE, "WHY NO SODA"? WHY YOU DON'T LOSS ALOT OF WEIGHT IN THE BEGINING WITH THE LAP BAND. HE EXPLAINED, AS THE STOMACH ADJUST AND HEALS. AND HE CAN START THE FILLS. YOU THEN START TO DEVLOPE THE POOCH. THRU THE FILLS. AFTER AFEW MONTHS. YOUR WEIGHT LOST IS THE SAME AMOUNT AS DIFFERENT WLS.
AS FAR AS THE STAFF? THEY WERE REALLY HELPFUL. ELAINE WENT ABOVE THE CALL. SHE KNEW THAT I WAS FROM OUT OF TOWN. SO WHILE I WAS THERE. SHE DID EVERYTHING SHE COULD FOR ME TO MEET EVERYONE. EVEN THO THE STAFF PEOPLE WHERE BUSY. EVERYONE OF THEM TOOK A MIN OUT TO MEET ME AND TELL ME WHAT THEY DO IN MY RECOVERY. I LOOK FORWARD TO TALKING WITH THEM LATER.
AS FOR DEACONESS HOSPITAL. THEY WERE REAL PROFFESSIONAL IT SEEMS LIKE A REAL NICE PLACE. I'LL NO MORE ABOUT THE CARE AFTER SURGERY. BUT I WAS IMPRESSED ENOUGH. THAT I HAD SIGNED TO HAVE MY SURGERY DONE WITH DR CURRY AT DEACONESS HOSPITAL.
ON THIS FOURM IT SAYS. TO ALSO WRITE ABOUT ANY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE THAT I MIGHT OF HAD SO OTHER READERS COULD GET A TRUE EVAL. BUT THERE TRUELY WASN'T ANY AT THIS TIME. IF I DID HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING. IT WOULD BE THAT THE PRICES IN THE GIFT SHOP WHERE OVER PRICED! LOL.
BUT ALL IN ALL I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THE DR THAT I PICKED. I COULD HAVE GONE TO A DR CLOSE BY. BUT WHEN YOU GET A REPUTION LIKE DR CURRY HAS. I'D LIKE TO HAVE THE BEST WORK ON ME. EVEN IF IT IS TWO AND HALF HOUR DRIVE FOR ME.

AWESOME! The most workable accessable physician that i have ever met!

The more time I spend with Dr. Curry, the more I love him! He always goes the extra mile. I sent him an email at 8:00pm on Dec. 26th, he responded at 10:00pm that very night! He always responds to email. Three weeks ago I called on a Friday to have an unfill done, he was working a half day that day and still managed to fit me in!

He is extremely busy and I know that he rushes, but he never makes me feel rushed.

I wish all my doctors were like him. Maybe I'd go more often....

If you're considering him as your surgeon you wont be dissapointed. I've not met anyone who has a bad thing to say about him.

Dr. Curry is very nice and very knowlegable! I liked him when I met him during the seminar, and liked him even better the more I got to know him.

Just a few days ago I realized I was having trouble, and he was quick to respond. I was in to see him the next day for a small unfill. He answered my questions and was able to calm me down. (I was so worried about the unfill not being a good thing.)

Dr. C is very high tech, and I love that! It showed me that he is committed to having the most up to date information.

I give him an A+ in both bedside manner and skills.

I have not even met Dr. Curry and I am already inpressed with him. The fact that he takes the time to get online and talk with people (even if there not his patients) is mind blowing. There diffenitly needs to be more Dr.'s like him. And his office staff couldn't be any nicer. They go out of there way to help you regardless if your their patient or not. I can't wait to met them personally. I have a really good feeling about this journey knowing that they are the ones that will be taking care of me.
