Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center

I have had a great experience with my surgeon. He is a very competent surgeon with a great bedside manner. While in the hospital, he stopped by everyday and even called each night to check up on me. I would highly recommend Dr. G and his staff to anyone.
My hospital stay wasn't such a great experience. I'm a very independent person but the day after surgery, I needed some assistance. I was very weak and unsteady on my feet. The day after surgery, I was put into a chair early morning and left there till about 5. The nurse started to bathe me and in the middle had to leave. I sat there for 45 min before she returned to finish. It took 1.5 hrs to get nausea meds and 2 hrs to get pain meds. After I was up and moving, things were fine (since I was capable to doing things for myself). While this was my personal experience, I would do it all over again because of my surgeon. I would just be more educated about the situation.

Dr. G is a wonderful surgeon! He's in the practice out of the Abington Hospital with Dr. Bonani. rnrnFrom the start, Dr. G was very nice, courteous and answered ALL of my questions, no matter how insignificant they might have been. rnrnHe's a great motivator too, and at every visit so far has been totally great. My mother even liked him when she had to speak to him after my surgery was completed. She remarked at what a wonderful doctor he seems to be.rnrnAnyone going to the Abington Memorial Institute for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and is giving the option of going with Dr. B. or Dr. G, both are wonderful. My experience is that I do not regret for one moment opting for Dr. G and having my surgery a bit sooner than having to wait a while for Dr. B.rnrnDr. G. Rocks! :)
