Surgical Services of Sedalia Bariatric Center

Just talked to them on 10/18/02 they seem very nice. I am faxing info letter tommorrow for them to start pre approval process. I have heard from others on this site that he is a very good doctor.

So far I am very pleased with myu Surgeon. He is well informed about this surgery and passes this on to you. He is very direct and point blank pulls no punches. I like someone who wont hee haw around. I feel comfortable with the fact he will help me become a better functioning person for myself and family.

My first impression of Dr. Hornbostel was his caring attitude to overweight men and women. He has a very compassionate heart to the plight of the overweight, not only for our health but for the self esteem and respect that we so deserve. He was very informative about the different options available to us as we study and choose which type of WLS will meet our needs best.

I have not met one on one with Dr Hornbostel yet but I have attended one of his informational seminars. I got the impression that he is very knowledgeable. He has not done a great number of the lap RNY's but I felt very comfortable with him. I have an initial consult with him on 09-23-02 so I will add more when I actually have a chance to speak with him.

Now that I am Post-Op, I feel I can comment here on Dr. Hornbostel. On a scale of one to ten, I'd rate Dr. Hornbostel's surgical skills a ten. When I first decided to have this surgery, I visited him and he explained everything to me in great detail, to include what I would have to deal with after surgery and how I would have to eat for the rest of my life.

He has continued to answer my questions and have found him to be very open, kind and compassionate, just what you need after surgery. I just can't say enough for his skill and talent as a surgeon. After surgery he made sure everything was done right and 1 week post-op I am in no pain, and am feeling great. I would recommend him to anyone.

I was also impressed by his office staff who were very professional, and except for a small problem with the person that works with insurance issues, I feel they represent him well.

4-29-02 1ST CONSULT. WAS GOING FOR LAP SURGERY THEN HE TOLD ME ABOUT A NEW SURGERY THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE DOING ADJUSTABLE LAP BAND. THAT SOUNDED SAFER AND TOLD HIM THAT WAS FINE WITH ME. TOLD HIM TO PROCEED WITH PROCESS. IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER AND HAVE A TENITIVE DATE OF SEPTEMBER 30TH SURE HOPE IT HAPPENS THIS TIME. HE IS A VERY NICE AND INFORMITIVE PERSON NURSE IS EXCELLENT. AND EVEN CALLS YOU BACK RIGHT AWAY. THE OFFICE HELP WAS OK STILL TRYING TO GET THE HOSPITAL APPROVAL DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.OTHER THAN THAT OFFICE VERY CLEAN AND NEAT AND I HAVE CONFIDNECE IN HIM ALSOI WOULD RATED HIM A 9.5

Very gentlemanly and courteous. Very friendly in a quiet way. Staff is mostly very nice and knowledgeable. I am an LPN who has taken care of his patients for years and hold the highest respect for his skills. Though he is new at doing RNY's for the purpose of weight loss, he has done numerous ones for other reasons and he has my complete confidence. He has been my surgeon for other problems and is completely professional and skillful, as well as caring and concerned for his patients! He does emphasize after-care and does this procedure laprascopically. He has a very dry sense of humor and seems stiff, though he is NOT. I rate him an easy 10 out of 10! There is one nurse who seems to disapprove of wls and made me quite uncomfortable. Otherwise the other nurses are supportive and friendly.
