Surgical Associates, S.C. Bariatric Center

the first impression was someone who wanted to help me get healthy and very open with answers. This impression has not changed.rnThe office staff @ that time was great the new staff is the same (he moved his office)rnAftercare is equal to the surgery.rnWhich is better bedside manner or surgical skill? I feel that both are outstanding. rnI will not be able to add a negative comment, As each person has different opinions on everything, as for me I will be thank fill on all he has done for me.

My first impression of Dr. Weiland was that he was very educated about bariatric surgery and he was very down to earth. The staff at Aspirus Hospital and Surgical Associates are awesome. They are ALL so helpful and smart. They stuck it out and helped me get my approval from insurance even though it took me 3 years to get it. The nutritionist and physical therapist are so helpful too. They are very specific about what they expect. Over all I am so happy I choose this hospital and Doctor! They are now a center of excellence and they deserve that.

This is my experience with Dr. Brebrick.rnrnDr. Brebrick is very nice, caring, and most importantly of all - a great surgeon. I had my surgery three weeks ago today. I am already down 18#'s, and off of blood pressure medicine.rnrnI had no problems with him at all. He is very knowledgeable, and explained everything I needed to know about before, and after rngastric by-pass surgery. rnrnI would rate him an 10 on a scale of 1-10.

My first impression of Dr Weiland was very calming to me. I have met him before as he did my sisters surgery and I also worked at the same hospital as him. He is an all around fun person. He made me feel very comfortable and he is very personable. His whole staff was so helpful from getting my surgery covered by insurance too post-op appointments one year after.

What can I say...I've never even had a broken bone nor have I been in the hospital for major surgery. This was a huge step for me as I was quite nervous but "Dr. Steve" went thru everything with me and helped me calm down. I knew exactly what was happening and his follow-ups in the hospital were great. He's extremely great to have as he talks to you on your level. He tells it like it is and I felt very comfortable with him. Thanks Dr. Weiland.

I met Dr. Steve Weiland at the recommendation of my family doctor after already making a decision to have my surgery with someone else. His matter-of-fact approach and honestly about the whole concept of WLS was what made me trust him with my surgery. He doesn't perform the surgery on just anyone. He does it only on someone who is really ready to do this and has tried everything else to be thin and healthy. His office staff is wonderful and very supportive. Although, Dr. Steve Weiland's personality can be strong and abrupt at times, he is an excellent surgeon who does his job well. His confidence is reassurring to say the least. His aftercare program has been made more intense since I have had surgery, since my mother-in-law has recently had the surgery with him. They do require that you follow up every 3 months with him for the first year and then every 6 months for the second and then every year after that.

My first impression of Dr. Weiland was that of someone who was very sure of himself and of the surgery he performs. He is very serious and matter-of-fact. Dr. Weiland has high expectations for his patients and expects them to cooperate fully. He makes that very clear. He stresses the dangers of the surgery and focuses greatly on aftercare. As far as his surgical competence, I'd give him a 10. I'm one who prefers a doctor who is a hand-holder and warm and fuzzy. Dr. Weiland is none of the above. However, when having the surgery, it's not his bedside manner that really counts. He is a great surgeon and knows his stuff! His office staff is great and was there for me every step of the way. I would highly recommend Dr. Weiland to anyone interested in having this surgery.
