Wonderful, really stresses the need for aftercare and followup.will update later.
Dr Rupp is a very thorough surgeon. He will take the time to answer anything you need to know and does not beat around the bush. I had complete confidence in him and would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Rup has a great introductory session that is very supportive and informative. He and his staff are knowledgeable about the process, working with the various insurance companies, and working with patients. I am excited about my surgery (4/29/02) and working with Dr. Rupp on an outstanding recovery!

My first impression of Dr. Rupp is that he truely cares about fat people. He is not one of those Drs who blames everything on the fact that you need to lose weight. He is sympethetic to the plight of a fat person and the fact that we have tried over and over to lose weight and we just need a little help. I think his office staff is great they are very helpful and knowlegable about all you need to know. Joyce is very helpful. The thing I liked least about Dr. Rupp is that the wait is almost unbearable but as a Dr. I think he is worth the wait. His program is very complete, they don't just do the surgery and leave you hanging there are support groups and help afterwards. I am litteraly putting my life in this mans hands and I am sure I will come out fine. He is very upfront about the risks of the surgery, but he also lets you know about the risks if you don't have the surgery. His competence is amazing and his bedside manner is also wonderful. He makes you feel like an indivdual person instead of just a patient.

He was very knowledgible and told me what to expect in detail.. I just liked him more and more and trusted him more..Very helpful and extremely nice..There was nothing I didn't like..That he is very good at what he does..Very strongly..Yes he does, there is a support group meeting every month and there is also one once a week..He gave me a list of risks..I would rate him a 10..Both are very important to a better healthier you..

Dr. Rupp was very personable and knowledgable. As I apparently flew through the surgery with no complications, I have to commend his compentence (as I am over 600 lbs.) His office staff is competent and friendly and he does have a comprehensive aftercare program (which I'm happy for).

My first impression of Dr. Rupp was that he was a caring, straigh forward kind of guy who really does care about obese people. I had my pre-op appointment with Dr. Rupp on 1/24/01. I still really like him. He's so easy to talk with and has a good sense of humor.

Dr. Rupp is a very dedicated and confident surgeon.

My first impression was Dr. Rupp really knew his stuff. I was impressed with his knowledge and his prescence. He has great bed-side manner. I was very comfortable with him. His office staff has been excellent so far. They seem busy but attentive and I've never had to wait long periods of time for response. This is a good thing for me! He encourages after-care and asked me many questions to ensure in my mind and his I was prepared for the surgery. He did discuss risks. My surgery is on Jan. 21st....so my experience w/ Dr. Rupp is far from over! I'm very positive about his skill.

Impression is that he is the first the last and the best surgeon I could hope for.

I am more impressed with each meeting.

Dr Rupp inspires confidence in him and his abilities.
The office staff is helpful and pleasant. His nurse, JOYCE, runs the Lifeshapes program, and takes care of everything. She sets up the information meetings, and runs the aftercare group that is free.
,.Aftercare is a big deal with Dr Rupp and Joyce. They have published a very helpful booklt with allthe things YOU need to do, what THEY do, what to eat when, what to eat that has protein, fat, or whetever ele yu need, as well as talks about the risks. HE talks about the risks at the info meeting where he shows slides an talks about all the pertinent statistics. Very informative. You will leave feeling well informed., Goes over the particulars for yu at yur pre-op visit, about 4-5 dys before surgery.
Has not lost a patient yet. Only does open surgeries...'I like to look around.' Will do hernias, hiatal hernia, gall bladder and appys. Will call in a GYN for tubal ligations, hystrectomies, or anythng ese that needs to be done. Does a thorough visual check for cancer. Feels he needs room to work. Surgical competence nd bedside mannr were both great. Visits veryday in the hospital. When he comes to aftercare meetings, the whole room...maybe 75-00 people stand to applaud when he comes in the door. People who saw h8im on tv during my tv news shot about this surgry hve caled from all over the country baecause they heard from someone here about him, or the segment was taped and sent to them. They tell the office staff they liked him and what they saw, and want to come here for surgery.
