St. David’s Bariatric Center Bariatric Center

The Southwest Bariatric Surgeons Center is one of the best healthcare facilities I have visited and definitely deserves to be recognized for all they do. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful, the surgeons are very knowledgeable and experienced, and the facility overall is just amazing.
I have to give recognition to my own surgeon, Dr. Romeo Lainez, who has truly been a great surgeon and has done the best job imaginable when it comes to my health and needs. He is friendly, will address all questions and concerns you may have, takes the time to really listen to you and makes sure you are taken care of in any emergency. He performed both my gastric sleeve surgery and repaired a hernia I had and did an amazing job! I can honestly say that I have much faith in him and he has gained my complete trust and respect as a surgeon.
I am absolutely impressed with Dr.Lainez and the entire Southwest Bariatric team/staff and I am glad I made the choice to come here for my procedures. Thank you again for everything you all do and a big thanks to Dr. Lainez for being such an amazing physician!

My first impression of Dr. Longoria was positive. He has an excellent bedside manner tempered with a straightforwardness that is extremely refreshing. He was thorough in his education about the various surgeries available to me and how I might respond to each one. My opinion of him has continued to be positive through preop and surgery. I felt I was in good hands and never once questioned my decision to choose him as my WLS surgeon and look forward to a lifetime doctor/patient relationship with him.
I see him in the new office in Round Rock and the staff there seems confused/flustered most of the time. They're sweet, but honestly I had to not only tell the receptionist that they had the wrong surgery on my chart but she had never heard the term RNY/roux-en-Y. I was not happy about standing in the waiting room with others waiting saying "I'm here for bariatric surgery!" Paperwork really should have been completed in the back of the office in privacy. Scheduling surgery was a little flustered as well, but did eventually work itself out after a couple of weeks and after that there were no more hiccups. *Update: On my first postop visit the receptionist recognized me right away and check-in was a breeze.
The nutritionist and the exercise therapist are both super and I look forward to working with them more in the future.
Overall a strongly positive experience.

First impression was positive. Took the time to answer my questions and did not make me feel as if there were any \"stupid questions.\" Spoke straight forward and did not patronize. The office staff were pleasant and friendly. rnrnNegative aspect - appointment seemed a bit rushed; however, this could be due to the fact that I don't have many questions involving the surgery as several family members have already had the procedure. I have also had only one meeting thus far. Will update after following meeting.

My first impression was comfortable, he pointed out to me that he was young and I was free to choose a more senior experienced partner in the group. I pondered on the matter for a week or two and determined that I felt comfortable having him as my Surgeon. On second visit, I continued to feel good about my choice. Post Surgery, I am still satisfied that this young man is gifted.
