Dr. Voellinger is the sole surgeon on staff at Southeast Bariatrics in Charlotte, NC. (www.southeastbariatrics.com) His practice performs LapBand, RNY, DS and VSG. Dr. V is very knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have. He is Southern, has a dry sense of humor and absolutely loves his work. His office staff is also very knowledgeable. There are at least three of his former patients on staff there. The pre and post-surgical care is phenomenal. The office operates its own Yahoo forum for patient support. In addition, they host monthly WLS support meetings that are free for any WLS patient (not just patients of Dr V).

Dr V was great

Great first impression; I really liked his patient focused approach and his comprehensive WLS programs. He blew me away when he handed me a printed lap-band \"fill\" schedule that stated that his patients did not have to have an appointment for a needed fill, as they were available every Monday 3-6 in clinic. That means he really cares that his lap-band patients are sucussful and that he will be there for them . . . I sure liked that. rnrnFar exceeded my first lap-band sugeon. The removal and replacement was a breeze for me but in OR over 2.5 hours then to recovery. He was so gentle that I have zero bruises, no pain meds needed, and only soreness the day after...he is good. When there is a cancelation by others, his office has called 2 times for sooner fill opportunities; meaning they are keeping close review as to who is ready for a fill and who is not...I am so overwhelmed at the patient focus of his entire pratices.

I cant say enough good things about him. his staff is made up of several bariatric patients. They take pride in keeping you on track, but it is still up to you.

Dr. V is likeable, approachable, professional, and focused. His staff are caring and kind. Aftercare is especially important in this practice which is one of the reasons I chose Dr. V. He was up front about the risks of surgery and spoke clearly and carefully about each area of our discussion. At this point, prior to surgery, I would recommend him highly.

My first impression of Dr.V was he seems to be a very nice doctor. He told me everything I needed to know about the surgery as well as life after surgery. All I can say is Dr. V is the BEST! The staff is wonderful! I can call or email them at anytime and they would be there for me. They are the best staff ever.

Dr. David Voellinger iof Southeast Bariatrics in Charlotte, NC is the surgeon who performed my my revision surgery. My original surgeon moved out of state andDr. Voellinger took over many of her patients. I sought his help after she had left NC and I started experiencing problems. rnrnHis knowledge of all types of WLS is commanding. He is very empathetic, has a good sense of humor----really cares about his patients. He is very thorough in the pre-op tests and instructions. He also has a structured after-surgery program, which my first surgeon didn't have. rnrnDr. V's office staff is comprehensive and wonderful--he has nutritionist, psychologist, and exercise physiologist all within his office. His recods and medical staff (Kim, Steffney, and Dawn) are excellent. The entire outfit has been very easy to work with--all calls promptly returned, etc. rn

Dr V. is a wonderful man, especially for being in the field that he is in. I've had several meetings with him and all have been pleasant. My first impression was that he will take care of me. He did my moms surgery as well. Office visits were great, it was dealing with some over the phone. I was the one calling in for information on where we were. Had my chest x-rays faxed three times, no one knew where they were. At least that is what was told to me. Had lab work done in May of 2006. Did not know that they had not received them until February 2007. Ironic isn't it???? Anyway overall I think I'm in very good hands..... I am finally scheduled for surgery on APRIL 16TH 2007!!!!!!!!! I'M SO VERY EXCITED ON THE BEGINNING OF THE REST OF MY LIFE.rnrnLOLrnMELODY 03/21/2007rnrnP.S. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE, IT MAY NOT BE YOURS

Dr V. was excellent. We did develop a leak but he went right back in the next day and fixed it. He was very caring & concerned. He & his surgeon's assistant & nurse came by every day to check in on me. I was very impressed at all the attention I received from their office. I was in the hospital for about 7 days but they even continued to call me at home to follow-up with me. I am 3 & 1/2 months out and they still keep up with me. Their whole office treats you like family!
