Saint Luke's Center for Surgical Weight Loss Bariatric Center
My first impression of him caring and honest. My feelings never changed. The office staff was the best that I have ever been treated at a Dr. office. There was nothing that I didn't like about Dr. Jones. If anyone is considering have the surgery and close to Monroe La I would use Dr. Jones they couldn't go wrong. He thinks aftercare is the most important thing. He has a great aftercare program. He was great about explaining the risks of surgery. Both are great!!!!
I called Dr. Prices office and talked to Sandy in November. I found out the information I needed to have and had the questionaire sent to my home. Dr. Price became a PPO Provider for B/C B/S in January of this year. I met with him January. He was very informative and he explained the risks and benefits of the surgery. He also told me this was a tool and not a miracle way to lose weight. I had recieved alot of information already and had my questions ready. He answered them with no problems. I wanted to know how many he had done, how many had problems and everything. He did not hesitate with any of the questions and I felt like he was very capable of doing the surgery. Following my surgery his daily visits were informative and his bed side manner was real good. My husband even seemed impressed with him and that takes alot. His staff were terrific and I highly recommend him.
Well, maybe he isn't 100% great but he sure hits around 99.99%. The moment I entered the nurse office I felt comfortable and excited. She explained so many things that I felt like a sponge. I then went to speak with the insurance person. She was very informative and kind. I then saw Dr. Price. My first thought...oh boy, he's younger than me! He was matter-of-fact and didn't tip toe around issues, straight forward with his presentation and confident in himself. He told me of the part I would have to play in the success of this surgery. There is a support group that meets monthly that I was invited to even before my surgery date was set. This made me feel that even though I was one of many patients they were still concerned about me. They got to work fast on sending information to my insurance company. The date is set for April Fools Day. I told him 'don't you dare show up with a cast on your arm'!
I am glad I had researched as much as I had. This site has been wonderful! I knew what questions to ask and felt comfrontable with Dr. Price's answers. The office staff was great! Dr. Price only sees patients twice a week so appointments are not lengthy. I would recommend Dr. Price to anyone wanting more information.
I had my appt on 1-9-03. I would like to say that Dr. Price and his staff are very helpful. They are very informative and Sandy Rials is truly the best. Having someone on the staff that has had the surgery really made me feel comfortable knowing that she understands how I am feeling. I would rate Dr. Price a 10 he makes sure that you understand all the risks involved along with the benefits of the surgery.
My impression is very positive. I work around Doctors and are very familiar with the 'very frank' discussions. You have to remember that he is a surgeon so cutting you wide open is not as big a deal to him as it is to you. He answered every question I could think of and I didn't feel rushed. Be prepared; take a list of questions. You will alway think of something after you leave. You are putting you life in his hands, so please take this seriously and quiz him thoroughly.
His staff was very helpful. You feel that they are working for you. I felt very comfortable talking with Sandy. She has been there, so she knows everything that you have ever felt. I feel very grateful to have met Sandy.
I WAS VERY INPRESSED WITH DR. PRICE AND MY HUSBAND ALSO LIKED HIM. I HAD MANY QUESTIONS AND HE WAS VERY PATIENT IN ANSWERING ALL MY QUESTIONS. HE WAS VERY FORTHCOMING ABOUT THE RISK AND SERIOUSNESS OF THIS PROCEEDURE. HE EXPLAINED ALSO THAT TO GET THE MAXIMUM BENEFITS THAT I MUST EXERCISE. HE SAID THIS PROCEEDURE WAS NO MIRACLE FOR WEIGHT LOSS THAT IT IS A TOOL TO HELP AID IN WEIGHT LOSS BUT THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DO MY PART (EXERCISE). HE HAS A WONDERFUL ASSET TO HIS PRACTICE, HER NAME IS SANDY. SHE CAN RELATE TO THE PATIENTS AND ANSWER ANY QUESTION. SHE HERSELF HAD THIS SURGERY 3 YEARS AGO AND IS A SUCCESS STORY THAT I AM LOOKING FORWARD TOO. ALL OF HIS STAFF WAS GREAT BUT SANDY IS A GODSEND. SHE IS THE ONE WHO CORRODINATES THE SUPPORTS GROUP. I WAS IMPRESSED THAT YOU HAVE ENDLESS SUPPORT BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY. I HAVE ONLY BEEN FOR MY CONSULT BUT I FELT LIKE I WILL BE IN WONDERFUL HANDS. I WILL CONTINUE TO UPDATE AND WILL LET YOU KNOW IF MY OPINION CHANGES OF DR. PRICE, SO FAR THUMBS UP!
staff is excellent call and talk to Sandy Rials(not sure of spelling)looking forward to meeting Dr. Price tomorrow 5/9/02
met Dr. Price yesterday very impressed with his informative yet frank discussions reguarding the surgery. Extremely satisfied as to the availability of surgery dates, I was pre-approved through another doctor and after meeting with Dr. Price and his staff on 5/9/02 I am having surgery on 5/23/02. His office staff was very helpful and courteous. He does stress the aftercare and his staff likes to see you go to the support meetings also. He explained the the procedure as well as the risks I feel pretty throughly. Looking forward to surgery day and can't wait for the results!!
6/2/02 post-op 10 days since surgery and doing fantastic lost 15 pound so far but none of the weight came off until 4 days after the surgery. I mowed my yard today on a riiding mower and have been back driving since 3 days after the surgery. Did some touch-up painting in my house 6 days after surgery. I feel fantastic. I was pretty sore the first 4 days, I had a laproscopic procedure, of course I spent 3 of those days in the hospital and made them take out the epedural for pain on evening # 2 as the narcotics in the epedural were making me nauseated every time they turned the pain medicine up or down. Went to just an oral for pain for that night and the following day and stayed on that for 2 more days after release from the hospital. For me the first 5 days immediately following the surgery were the worst but each day got 100% better than the day before. I am back to doing most everything I did before some pain in the incisions yet but not taking anything for it(so it's not that bad) still draing from the largest incision yet and have to keep that bandaged yet. I did notice a slight rash on my chest area but it is almost gone not sure if it was a reaction to the medicines or what. I go in tommorrow to have the staples removed.
