I absolutely love Dr. Gonzales. He really cares about his patients, and did an amazing job on my surgery. I recommend him to everyone!

I can't say enough great things about Dr Cavazos and his staff. The office is professional, responsive and truly caring. I actually dealt with more than one different doctors prior to my surgery and no one else had the time, patience and compassion that was witnessed at the TX Center for Medical and Surgical Weight Loss.

After surgery, Dr. C met with me promptly every morning to discuss vitals and next steps. I would recommend the practice to anyone seriously interested in medical / surgical weight loss.

Dr Cavazos is a master craftsman as a surgeon and a truly caring doctor. His practice is a holistic approach to weight loss and weight loss surgery. They manage pre-operative non-surgical weight loss. His aftercare and maintenance programs are comprehensive and include an internal medicine physician, nutritionist, exercise physiologist, and mental health support. The program has well attended monthly patients support groups. Dr Cavazos was the key to my victory over morbid obesity and the associated health problems. He saved my life. He changed my life. You won’t find a better Bariatric Surgeon anywhere.

Dr. John Pilcher is the consummate professional. He has been attentive, caring and efficient. His office staff have also been caring. I have no complaints about anyone in the office. The aftercare problem has been entirely my fault as I keep forgetting my appointments. They have been exceptionally nice to me despite my failing.I would highly recommend Dr. Pilcher to anyone needing a highly competent and caring doctor.

I loved Dr Gonzalez as soon as I met him. And was never disapointed at all in my first impression. He is very kind, honest, explains things well. When I first went to Dr Gonzalez, he was with Innova, and to me... they leave much to be desired. Alot of incompetence. He's since changed offices and is now with WeightWise. I really dont know much about their staff and how they handle initial patience and how well they do with getting it all together to get the surgery going. I suggest to anyone having surgery, dont depend on staff members to care enough to make a ton of follow up calls to the insurance. No one cares more about your care than YOU DO. I made all the calls my self, asking if they recieved this and that, what else was needed.. and calling the Drs office asking if this was sent and did you do that. be active in your own care!rnrnDr Gonzalez made sure I was aware of the risks of surgery, as well as the risks for my life and health with out surgery. rnrnHe is an outstanding Dr. And a great person. A+ all the way! rnrnWith Dr Gonzalez, both his competence, and bedside manner were great. I couldn't have asked for better.

Dr Pilcher comes highly recommended from many doctors here in San Antonio. From what I was told and later found out for myself after meeting with him, is that he is one of the best bariatric doctors in the country. He is very well mannered, well educated doctor that holds high standards for himself, his surgical team and his patients.rnrnThough contact with him is somewhat limited throughout the 3 month weigh ins required by insurance, I did receive alot of information from him and his staff during this timeframe.rnrnDr Pilcher requires his patients to strictly adhere to and meet all criteria and goals he sets prior to surgery. He does this for the benefit of the patient. He has emphasized that meeting these goals will help me in my recovery process as well as with the actual surgery.rnrnNow I have to say this about New Dimensions Weight Loss...The staff is extrremely freindly and outgoing, but unfortunatly I must admit, at least in my case, they were completely unorganized and out of sync with my entire process. There seemed to be a lack of competence and communication with my account.rnrnIn Feb 2008 I was told by a patient advocate that I was all done and we just needed to submit everything to insurance. Two days later, I' told I need another weigh in for March and be cleared by a phsychologist. rnrnI was floored and very upset. Their in house mental health person gave me a thumbs up in Dec 2007, but she made one small note in my file that sent up a red flag. The problem was nobody told about this until March 2008. I fought them hard on this and finally, their new shrink agreed to meet me on the spot and gave me the all clear.rnrnAll told, they put just about every roadblock that the insurance hadn't already done. I was suprised that a doctor with this standing hand this kind of staff supporting his patients. Great people, just not great at what they were doing.rnrnBut on the other hand, when I brought an issue they overlooked they did a pretty good job and trying to fix it. It just happened too often. rnrnAt our final pre op meeting April 10, 2008 Dr Pilcher directed me to his top office person and she was extremely apologetic and understanding of my frustration level. We talked in a very calm, personal tone meant to give me a forum to vent my disatisfaction with the whole process and for her to gather information she could use to better train the entire staff on providing a more acceptable patient experience.rnrnOverall, I'd give the staff a generous C-. As for the Dr Pilcher, well, if I post here post op he gets an A+, if you never hear from me again, I gotta go with a D-, with a heavy grading curve.rnrnI'd rather have a top notch doctor while I'm on the table, than the best receptionist in town.rnrnAnd as advised, these are just my personal impressions based on my personal experience and in no advising anyone to seek out this center or doctor nor am I advising anyone to avoid this center or doctor.

My first impression of him was OMG, he is so handsome! My impression never changed. He is still handsome...but all play aside he answered my questions for me and checked on me when I had to go to the hospital for dehydration. He kind of told me in a nice way that I needed to get on track or else.....rnrnHis office staff was cordial. Can't find anything negative to say about him. I would recommend him to others. His emphasis on aftercare is on point. He prepares you for the future. He pointed out the good and the bad rn(risk). I would rate his overall performance as a 10. The surgical competence and bedside manner are both great...WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING!rnrnTawmika Racheal Proctor-EzimakornHouston
