Relatively quiet, efficient, very thorough with pre-testing and aftercare. Stresses importance of continuing with support groups/counseling after surgery and also follow-up with the dietitian. Very upfront about surgical risks. The OR nurse told me he is one of the best laparoscopic surgeons that she has worked with (all over the country). Overall, a positive experience.

Dr. Pohl is the greatest! We were required to attend an informaiton seminar and go through a battery of tests prior to even having a consultation with him. He has a wonderful bed side manner. He is very support even through my initial issues with reflux. All the staff at his office are very accommodating. I don't have any dislikes regarding Dr. Pohl, his care, or his facility. They are very thorough and professional. There is a support group that meets every Thursday evening. At his seminoar he address both pros and cons of both Gastric bypass and Lap band surgery. I would rate him, his facility, pre and postoperative care, and after programs with the highest ranking possible. I have been truly happy with my decision and the care I am receiving.

05/26/2006rnToday I just had my first consult with Dr. Pohl. I find he has a little bit of a sense of humor. I like that. I found him to be very direct and informative. I am looking forward to be working with him. rnrnrn

My Doctor is so sweet to me. I couldn't believe how therow he was. every test, every, meeting, every phone call. I have been in this prosess for almost 3 years. rnrnit was 11th grade when my mother first said. \"Jessica we have to do something about this honey or it will be too late.\" too late rang in my ears. I then went on line and looked up WLS. i found so much info i was scared. there was words i didn't know at all. but going into the manditory seminar in november at Roger Willums I became scareder still. i was the only 17 year old sitting and trying to make sence of all of it. in fact i was the only one under 30 there. I'm legeally blin d and have many learning problems. but i sat back for two hours and listened then I asked many questions. Pohl seemed to understand my difficulty and afterwood he said. \"How about I explain all this at our appointment. so you understand better?\" I smiled and mom spook with him. Dad wheeled around in him wheelchair and talked with many other people. rnrnWhen I finally had my first appointment with him in march. i had turned 18 in febuary and glad to have a great deal of testing done. Pohl spent time explaining that i was better off with the LAP-BANDing. so he gave me a website to look it up and learn more and said we'd make a choice next time. rnrnI agreed on the BANDing. but Pohl has been great to me. now i'm hoping to every star in the sky that he'll take good care of me turday oct 17!rnrn

Quiet man with a subtle sense of humor who makes you feel comfortable. Willing to answer questions. Information packet is extremely detailed about process. Lots of tests as part of his protocol to ensure successful procedure for you and him.

Dr. Pohl Rocks.. he is great.. He is straight forward about WLS and what you need to do and why. Has a good support group that all are encouraged to attend. He also encourages you to follow up with your dietician. I found Dr Pohl to be very knowledgable and he has good bedside manners.

'Dr. Pohl and his staff are wonderful. They are a well oiled organization and extremely professional. The only bad thing is sometimes they run a little late

My first meeting with Dr Pohl was at his mandatory weightlose meeting at Roger Williams Hospital. He stayed there for over and hour answering everyone Questions.rnMy impression of Dr Pohl and his staff always has been that he cares about his patients.rnI never felt rushed by him or Jeremy.rnHe always listen to what you have to say.rnI sure he has heard the same questions over and over by all his patient but he seemed to be put off by my questions.

My first impression of Dr.Pohl was he was very business like.He kind of made me nervous. He likes to be make sure this is what you really want.He does not tell you it is an easy way to loose weight. I found overtime he is very honest, has a great sense of humor and the nurses think he is wonderful. This says a lot for a Dr. Dr. Pohl puts in a long day. He was in to see me at 6 a.m. everyday after surgery. He never made me feel like in was in a hurry. He answered any questions that I had.I was up the first night after surgery. I cannot say enough about DR.Pohl. He is very much into helping his pt.s There is a support group that he tells you about. He is aware of some of the web sites. He is a very caring person.
