I came to Dr. Sowemimo 2 1/2 years ago and went to a seminar at Centrastate Medical Center. Had the lap band in Sept of 2011, it was a smooth and pleasant transition into weight loss. My main reason for getting the procedure was to better control my diabetes. Within on week of the surgery, my diabetes came into control and stopped taking all my medications. I have since lost about 60lbs and look and feel better than I have in years. I'm 76 yrs old.

Dr. Sowemimo and his staff were all excellent and attended to all my needs before and after surgery. I would highly recommend this practice!

Dr. Seun is a fantastic doctor/surgeon and an even more wonderful person. I was a Lap Band to Sleeve revision and at first was very skeptical of a second procedure. After he explained the pros and cons, he made a clear case that the benefits completely outweighed the risks and he was right!

3 months after my Surgery, I feel better than ever before and am down 45lbs and almost at my thinnest weight and for sure, at my healthiest. He and his office have been there to answer and questions or concerns and are always very helpful. This was the best decision I could have made for myself and I have him to thank.

just in for a visit with Dr. Seun today. 16 more pounds lost since my August visit. In a size sixteen pants. Real excited about the next visit. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery on 10/21/2013. Post surgery I did not experience nausea or any discomfort that couldn't be managed with Tylenol.

I had my Gastric Sleeve surgery on 10/21/13. In a week I have lost 20lbs! I owe this all to first, God, my husband and family, and lastly Dr. Seun Sowemimo and the wornderful staff at Central Jersey Bariatrics. Dr. Seun has a very comprehensive bariatric program that consists of more education, nutrition, than pushing surgery. The information meeting and support groups were so rich with information and compassion. Dr. Seun was straight forward and caring. My entire process leading up to the actual surgery day was a smooth transition. I recommend Dr. Seun and CJ Bariatrics to anyone.

In May 2011, I attended a class of Dr. Seun He was pleasant and very informative of the different surgeries. When I attended his seminar I was weighing at 340 pounds (huge). I had sleep apnea, Diabetes and High blood pressure. A good friend from HUD gave me the web address and informed me to look into the surgery.

His office staff was/is plesant and kind. My surgery was performed in Sept. 2012; a year and a month later I have lost 135 pounds and weighing 205 pounds today, Oct. 2013 and feel great, look great; if I may say so my self. (yes, I am blowing my own HORN!!! (smile) Thank GOD, for Dr. Seun. Anyone who is thinking of having this surgery; I give Dr. Seun a 10+ and will refer friends to his office. I've been a patient of Dr. Seun's since 2010 when I decided to take control of my obesity and have Lap Band surgery. After struggling to reach my weight loss goals, with Dr. Seun's support and encouragement, I had a revision surgery in February of 2013. Although I was skeptical at first, I can now say there was no better decision. Today, 7 months post op, I am down 90 lbs.! A goal I thought was only a dream. When I think about the weight I have lost, I can't help but think about carrying a 20 pound bag of dog food. Carrying a 20 lb bag of dog food isn't easy. When I think that I had nearly five 20 lb dog food bags that I was carrying 24/7, it leaves me in awe of where I am today. Today I find myself working out 5 days a week. I am training for a 5k! I am in single digit clothing sizes!! I was able to buy my dream wedding dress that I get to wear in June. These are all things I am blessed to be experiencing. I thank Dr. Seun for giving me the tools I needed to change my life for the best!!! The experience is truly life changing and I couldn't ask for a more supportive, genuine, and truly caring doctor by my side. Seeing Dr. Seun is more than a doctor's appointment, it sitting down and talking with a friend. Dr. Seun and staff, thank you for all you have done!

Anyone looking into having bariatric surgery should attend Dr. Sowemimo's seminar. He goes into great detail of each of the possible procedures and gives you time to ask questions. I had a good feeling about going into my consult with "Dr. Seun" and by then, felt comfortable with a decision to do the vertical sleeve gastrectomy.
The office staff was warm and friendly. Dr. Seun has a comforting way about him, that he will make sure everything will go well, but still made sure I understood the risks.
Leading up to my surgery, I saw all of the required specialists to get clearance for my surgery and also with Dr. Seun.
The day of my procedure, Dr. Seun met me in pre-op to make sure I was ok and also to see if I had any other questions for him.
The surgery, and post-surgery, both were exactly as Dr. Seun explained. Within a week I felt great, and by 2 weeks, I felt like I could do anything!
I had a great experience with Dr. Seun and his staff and would rate my experience a 10 out of 10! I have already referred him to two of my friends!
So far, I am down 73 pounds in just over 4 months!
I strongly urge people looking to have bariatric surgery, to see Dr. Seun!

Its been almost 8 months since my surgery. I feel wonderful. This was one of the best decision I did for myself. I have the support of my family and I have a great doctor helping me. I lost 90 pounds.

I had my gastric bypass surgery on January 31, 2010. That morning of the surgery I weighed 223lbs today I weigh 123lbs. When I first started on this journey I was a diabetic on 4 needles and 7 pills a day, today I am only on vitamins. Dr Seun did a fantastic job, I am so happy being down to a normal size. In the beginning it was a little hard to keep food down but today even though I still cannot eat a lot it feels like I have eaten a huge meal.

My life really has not changed, I still go out to dinner with my family, I will order a meal knowing that I will not eat but a few bites but it keeps me feeling like I am still living a normal life.

When I see family members and class mates that I have not seen in years they do not recognize me. To me I look the same only a smaller version.

I know some people who really need to have the surgery but is very afraid. No matter how much of a success that they see my surgery was they are still afraid. I feel like I have added 10 plus years to my life and I am loving the way that I feel and look. Thanks Dr. Seun.
