Obesity Surgery Center of LA Bariatric Center

When I first called Dr. Keith Chung's office to set up a date I knew that I had finally found the right doctor for me. The staff at his office answered all of my questions over the phone, before I had even been to the office. On the day of my first visit, my husband and I left our house in Hammond and drove the 175 miles to the Lake Charles office we had a lot of time to talk and to write down several questions that we both had for the doctor. rnWhen we arrive at the office I met Darla; Dr. Chung's office guru who handles all, she had all of my info ready for me to fill out. We waited about 10 minutes and was called into the back, where I was weighed and all my vitals’ were taken, I was then put into Dr. Chugs’ office and his Assistant came into the office and explained everything to my husband and I. The Doctor then came into the office and met with me and my husband. He was the kindest, down to earth person that I had ever met. He was very informative about the whole procedure and the after care that I would need. We were in his office for about 35 min and we set a date for April 4th 2008.rnI am now 21 days out and I have lost a total of 28lbs. I would do this all over again with Dr. Chung. The staff at the hospital was so very nice and saw to my every need. All together on a scale of 1- 10, I would give him and his staff a 15. rnThank you, Dr. Chung very much for giving me a chance to enjoy my life at a normal size weight. I was out of work for 2 weeks and have not had any problems since. rn

Dr. Chung was very easy to talk to. He made sure I didn't have any questions, and took his time explaining things. His staff is excellent. Every time I'd think of a question, it was no problem to call and just immediately get an answer. They want you to be as informed as possible about this surgery and all your options. They encourage internet research. Dr. Chung really believes in this surgery. rnrnI go for my first follow-up appointment on 4-23-08. But Dr. Chung came highly recommended to me by my PCP, and one thing I've heard is that he is totally devoted to his patients and their after-care. I will post more on that when I've experienced it first-hand.rn

Dr. Chung and his staff were very helpful. They seem to be totally sincere about their patients and their needs. Not sure about the surgery or aftercare yet but will update after surgery.

Dr. Chung has taken GREAT care of me. He and his staff are WONDERFUL! Always willing to help and I know they are there for me and want me to be successful. He emphasizes after care and support for his patients. I appreciate the support groups and monthly newsletters. Dr. Chung has changed my life for the better. I am very happy with my doctor and his staff. HE IS A MIRACLE WORKER!!!!!!!!!!!GOD BLESS HIM! GOD BLESS HIS STAFF!rnI would highly recommend everyone to go see Dr. Chung and his staff. My first impression of Dr. Chung is that he is a very caring doctor and he was very professional with his explanations and choices of the different procedures available to me as his patient. After making my choice Dr. Chung and his staff put the ball in motion and handled everything, insurance, pre-op and all the other details that needed to be done and it was all explained to me very clearly. After the surgery Dr. Chung was there to check on me at least twice a day and he has a great bedside manner. Dr. Chung will not leave town until after his last patient is recovering at home. I did have some complication to my surgery after I was home but his staff and Dr. Shimer the Dr. on call was terrific in handling my complications. Dr. Chung was right there for me on his return and would check on me continuously through-out my recovery. I could not have asked for a better doctor he is a highly motivated professional and I would recommend him to anyone.

So far he seems great. I will have to let you know more after surgery.

Dr. Chung is a very caring, concerned and wonderful surgeon. His bedside manner is incredible and he puts you at ease very quickly. His staff is great as well. I am very thankful he was my surgeon.

Dr Chung was very down to earth at the seminar. He explained everything in detail and patiently took ALL the many questions everyone had. I believe he is very knowledgeable and experienced in WLS and is eager to help all those struggling with these issues. He does his surgeries at Woman and Children in Lake Charles, La. They made me feel so comfortable. They had a gown that was actually too big for me(can ya believe that) and a wider chair to sit in.....I think this is so important. It shows how well prepared they are to take care of WLS patients. I think Dr Chung had a big part in this because he wants his patients as comfortable as possible.

I attended Dr. Chung's seminar on 08/10/07 and was thoroughly impressed. He addressed all of the questions with ease and was very informative. I was really impressed by the fact that he has a support group that he attends as well. My consultation appointment was on 08/20/07. Dr. Chung addressed all of my concerns and made sure that all of my questions were answered. He also encourages spousal support which is very imporant to me.
