My first visit with Dr. Toder provided me with the confidence that I had chosen the right physician. She is professional, detailed, and has the experience required. She provided me options, her recommendation and the appropriate rationale, and told me no matter what procedure I chose she would support me 100%.

My first impression of Dr. Today was that she was a no-nonsense kind of doctor. She wasn't about to tell me what I wanted to hear and that's really a good thing. I went to her wanted LapBand Surgery, but she felt that I weighed too much and didn't have the will power to be successful with the surgery. She did say that if I was to lose some more weight and prove her wrong, she would consider it. I liked that she was honest with me and wasn't about to compromise her concerns just to make a buck as I was fully paid by my insurance company. Instead, she told me what she thought was a good fit for me which was Lap Gastric Bypass Surgery. I did my research and decided to go with her recommendation and I couldn't be happier with the results! I would rate her as a 10 as I've found excellent communication and after care with her and her program as well as a wonderful surgery experience!

I liked Dr. Toder from the minute I met her. She is a very confident, straight forward person. Listening to her speak, I knew she was very well informed, and took what she did seriously. The whole Bariatric Program at EMMC is fabulous. Each department is knowledgable, professional and respectful of the patients. They are a very 'well oiled machine'. I felt confident in my care. rnDr. Toder is very serious about what she does, and expects the same from her patients. She expects that you will do as you are told, and follow all instructions appropriatly. I feel she holds the patient very responsible for their success - as it should be. rnOne wonderful thing to note in addition is, I have a history of severe reaction to anesthesia and was very concerned with nausea and vomiting post-op. Not only did she actually address this, she provided me with some alternative treatments (Sea Band wrist bands and a patch for behind the ear) in addition to the medication. I can't say how much this mattered to me. It is huge - and it worked! I didn't get sick. I am so grateful to Dr. Toder for respecting her patients and her gift as a surgeon. I would highly refer to her anyone - even if you have to travel to Bangor, Maine. She is worth it.

I like Dr. Toder. She is down to earth and honest. My impression from day 1 has not changed. I have been very happy under her care and hope she sticks around for a long time to come. Also she offers the least expensive fills of any surgeon I know.

Dr. Toder knows her stuff! I am so glad I decided to have her for my surgeon. She really cares about what happens to you. rnrnThe office staff are great, I have never felt like I was shoved out the door like other places. When some things needed to be done asap, they were done asap, with no questions asked, just a smile. rnrnNo question: I would recommend Dr. Toder as #1 choice for surgeon if you decide to have bariatric surgery. rnrn

My first impression of Dr.Toder was that she was real. Wasn't going to tell me what I needed to hear but that facts. She didn't have that holierthan though attitude most surgeons have (I'm a nurse I deal with those kinds all the time). It was like sitting down and having a conversation with any regular person.rnShe was very informative regarding the procedure and the reasons I might be able to have Lap and the reasons I might end up with open. She shots straight from the hip no cottelingbut that works for me.rnAs far as what's better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both. my answer is give me somebody who knows what there doing inside of me anyday then if he/she sits on the bed and pats me on the hand to tell me everything is going to be just fine.

Dr. Toder is an excellent surgeon. She is very straightforward and up front with her questions and concerns, and it is important to be frank with her, as well. She almost didn't do my surgery because I had gained some weight, but thanks Goodness, she went ahead with it. I later let her know how devastating it would have been for me if she had cancelled my surgery, and that the fact that I had gained weight was not an indication that I was not ready for the surgery or did not take it seriously. It had gotten to the point that no matter how hard I tried, I could not maintain weight loss - that's why I was in this position in the first place!rnDr. Toder is very pleased with my progress and my weight loss. I don't think there's a better bariatric surgeon out there than Michelle Toder.

Dr. Toder is very knowledgeable about bariatric surgery. My impression of her is that she is very up front and to the point, which is a quality I appreciate in a doctor. She was very caring and understanding, and was willing to answer any questions that I had. I did not feel rushed during my appointments. Also, her staff is very kind and she never seems to be running behind on her appointment times.
