North Shore Surgical Specialists Bariatric Center
Dr. Gadaleta is an amazing man. Although I just had my surgery, I thank him immensely for helping me change my life forever. Looking forward to the new me. His staff is the best....Yvonne and Carol take care of everything. They are so organized. rnrnI actually look forward to going to the office for my follow-ups. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is considering bariatric surgery.
My first impression of Dr Gadaleta is that he knows his stuff. He is very professional and no nonsense, which is great for me. After my second meeting with him he warmed up and I got to see him SMILE. He answered EVERY single one of my questions patiently and with great understanding. He is very serious about the seriousness of any WLS and the pre and aftercare that is required to get YOUR desired results.
His staff, although very busy, is very helpful and extremely professional. Yvonne, the coordinator is a really nice lady, who while maintaining her professional distance, is very supportive and caring for one as a person.
I am extremely happy with Dr Gadaleta and would choose him again and will recommend him highly.
Dr. Gellman is the first doctor that I choose from this site. After I called his office and they told me that I needed a referral from my family doctor, I was not sure that I would be able to use him. But after my Insurance company referred me to him I knew that he was the right one. He explained everything that was going to happen and toled me in detail what I had to do and how long everything was going to take. I have referred a friend of mine who wants to have the surgey. Dr. Gellman strongly emphasize aftercare. I have to see him now on a quartly bases. He has support group meeting on the 1st of every month. These meeting are for before and after surgey. I give me an overall rating of a 100%.
My first impression of Dr. Gadaleta was that he was trying to dicourage me from having the surgery, but the truth hurts he tells you that it is dangerous and that you have to be comited to having the surgery and following the after care instuctions and you should do ok.Yvonne is the ladie that sets thing up, she makes sure you dot your I's and cross your T's and is a great help, she always gives you a return call.I have not had the surgery at this time but have a date and waiting for the Insurance Co. to do there part, I have a lot of confidence in Dr. Gadaleta and his staff.
Dr. Gadaleta is great. He explained everything to me in detail with all the possible complications. I thought he was very friendly with a great smile. His staff was very nice as well. Yvonne is very helpful with everything. I got my surgery approved and did absolutley nothing. I liked that he made me go for all of those annoying tests, it showed me that he does not want any suprises on the table. So far the only thing that I did not like was I forgot my pocketbook at work when i went for the appointment and they charged me an extra $5.00. There should be a one time courtesy.
You meet with the bariatric coordinator first,Yvonne, she asks which surgery your interested in. Then, takes your info like weight and height. Briefs you on the surgery.Next you go meet the surgeon who again talks about the same thing. Gives you a list off all the tests you have to get done. After getting all of them done you meet them again for a 2nd appt and go over everything and get a sugery date. And thats it!!!!!! I only met Dr. Gellman twice, I hardly know him. He seems nice and He came highly recommended. I know he is a family man, he mad me feel comfortable and it was a casual conversation. I liked him. The hospital they are affiliated with is one of the best in the country. The office and staff is very large, its not just a bariatric office they do many things, everyone is rushing. I felt rushed, not personal. Its like this is what you have to do and thats it. Yes, they went over all the risks, pros and cons of both Lap-Band and Gastric Bypass. I havent had the surgery yet, but he is supposed to be one of the best!!!! We shall see.
I had my surgery and so far so good, I still like him. Not much to say,People say he is great, they have a wonderful reputation, I havent seen anything yet to wow about except my surgery went well and Im doing good. He does not do my fills, I have to go to a radiologist.
FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS THAT HE WAS A BIT RESERVED BUT I GUESS WE ALL ARE AT FIRST ...OVERTIME AND ESPECIALLY AFTER THE SURGERY HE ALSMOST SEEMED ELATED WHEN HE GREETS YOU AND VERY SINCERE ABOUT YOUR PROGRESS .I TRULY AM BLESSED THAT I CHOSE HIM AS MY SURGEON. HIS STAFF WAS BIT TO BE DESIRED BUT YOU MANAGE TO WORK WITH THEM AND THE MORE YOU SMOOZE THE BETTER OFF YOU ARE AND WILL GET THINGS DONE, MY FAVORITE AND MOST CONSIDERATE OF HIS STAFF WAS CAROL SHE WAS VERY WARM AND HELPFUL...YOU YOURSELF HAVE TO DO MOST OF THE LEG WORK AND MAKE SURE YOU TOUCH BASE WITH THEM AS FAR AS IF ALL YOUR PAPERWORK IS IN ORDER .MEANING EVERY 3 MOS YOU MUST GET COPIES OF YOUR DOCTORS NOTES AND SEND IT TO THE SURGEONS OFFICE OR FAX THEM, THEN YOU MUST FOLLOW UP TO MAKE SURE THEY RECEIVED THEM AND THAT EVERYTHING THAT SHOULD BE WRITTEN IN THOSE DR'S NOTES ARE CLEAR AND IN ORDER.WHAT AN ORDEAL THIS WAS FOR ME, I TOOK IT FOR GRANTED THAT THEY RECEIVED THIS IFORMATION AND THAT THE DR'S NOTES WERE GOOD,APPARENTLY 6 MOS IN I GET NOTIFIED TAHT MY DOCTOR HASN'T REALLY WRITTEN MUCH EXCEPT MY WEIGHT AND REGULAR STATS..WE HAD TO GET THE DOCTOR TO EXPAND AND BE MORE EXPLICIT AND WRITE DOWN WHAT SORT OF DIET I WS FOLLOWING IN ORDER FOR THESE NOTES TO BE SENT TO THE INSURANCE COMAPNY FOR APPROVAL..SO MY ADVISE IS TO KEEP ON TOP OF BOTH DOCTORS TO MAKE SURE ALL YOUR PAPERWORK IS IN ORDER...
AFTERCARE IS A MUST AND MY SURGEONS OFFICE HAS A MEETING EVERY 2ND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH I WILL BE ATTENDING MY FIRST MEETING NEXT MONTH, I'LL EXPAND MORE ON THAT LATER ON.
I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM AND HIS PARTNER LARRY GELLMAN THEY ARE BOTH GREAT!!! AND HIS SURGICAL COMPETENCE SO FAR IS GREAT:)
