1) I think Dr. Vohra is a quite but very friendly man. He cares more then 100% about his paitents.

2) My impression is still the same.
3) His office staff Peggy, Mary, Danielle and Gabe are the greatest people you can work with. They are there for you anytime and anyday. They also make your family feel very comfortable.

4) Nothing
5) Just that I don't think there isn't another dr. or staff you can trust and feel good about.

6) 100%
7) Yes.
8) He gets u to go to a meeting first so you can know all bout the surgry and then you meet with him in his office. There are also monthly meetings you go to and they are fun and inspireding.

9) 1-10 I give him a 15.
10) Both Great.

Before my first meeting with Dr. Vohra, I asked a few other doctors in the area about him, and got only extremely positive feedback.
Dr. Vohra himself has a very good connection with his patients. He gets to know you on a higher level than you might expect, he is caring, attentive and seems to be greatly in tune with each of his patients.
Dr. Vohra's staff is excellent, also. I have nothing but good things to say about them. Very thorough, very kind.
Dr. Vohra is the head of Laparoscopic Surgery at South Nassau Community Hospital in Oceanside, and like I said, I have heard from other doctors that he is the absolute best surgeon to have perform the roux en y laparascopically.
Aftercare is highly emphasized by Dr. Vohra's team. Follow up visits post op are supplemented with a monthly support group meeting at the hospital.
All possible risks were well addressed by Dr. Vohra and his staff.
How would I rate Dr. Vohra? On a scale of one to ten, a ten.
Both surgical competence and bedside manner are outstanding.

I was very impressed with Dr. Vohra. I attended an "educational" conducted by a nurse from his staff. She was very well informed and explained the entire procedure and aftercare. I also attended a support group. I was surprised to see the ENTIRE staff at the group meeting: dietician, physician's assistant, Dr. Vohra himself, his nurse and his office assistant. I then had the consultation visit with Dr. Vohra at his office. Again, it was mandatory that I meet with ALL of his staff one by one during this appointment. I am presently in the process of having the numerous tests required by Dr. Vohra. The scheduling of the appointments is a bit tedious, especially if you work. It is difficult to get appointments early in the morning or late in the evening. But most of the doctors recommended by Dr. Vohra to perform the tests, were "courteous" to Dr. Vohra's patients and scheduled the appointments in a timely manner. I think it would be so much more helpful if they could just check you into a hospital and perform ALL the necessary tests at one time. Or, since hospital room cost is a factor, have a section of these doctors all at one site. Dr. Vohra has a structured aftercare program. As I am still pre-op, I am not too familiar with the program. I do know that you MUST meet with the dietician and you MUST have an exercise plan.

Dr Vohra is a wonderful man. More than that,
the staff put me completely at ease. I can't
say enough about them. Aftercare and more
important: BEFORE CARE is in place & running
smoothly thanks to the efforts of a great
back up staff. Even Dr Vohra himself
stressed the importance of the staff.
Thank you, Steve!!!! And any pre ops from
NY, please email me to find out more about
this most excellent Dr and staff
**********************DR Vohra is the head of lap surgery at South Nassau Hospitol. This obesity surgery is a new project there and Dr Vohra and his staff seem up for the challenge!
I found out about Dr Vohra through a friend and I am well into the process that we all must go through to change our lives.
South Nassau Hospitol is committed to this project. There is a part of the hospital dedicated to the surgery. Big gowns, chairs without sides in every office they have sent me to.
Big wheelchairs and everything! Special kudos
to Mary Kramer, R.N. for her fabulous support
and her "can do" attitude! Now Dr Vohra has done about 15 surgeries and was recently trained by Dr Wittgrove, the surgeon who did Carnie's operation.
He is extremely thorough and caring. Aftercare is in
place and running already. Some surgeons in the area
have done way more surgeries and have no support in place.
Dr Vohra respects my time by being punctual for my appointments
and having a staff that is available for me by simply picking up the phone.

Dr. Vohra and his staff were absolutely wonderful! I was a self-pay patient, and they made every concession possible. He is extremely knowledgeable and conservative when it comes to his approach to WLS - which I like. The hospital has a Center of Excellence designation, and he is the director of the WLS program. He is also the Chief of Laparascopic Surgery at the hospital, so I knew I was in good hands. After the surgery, the initial intention was to go home after one day - being self-pay and all. I was experiencing a severe bout of nausea, and Dr. Vohra insisted that I stay. He came to check on my numerous times, as did the other surgeon on his team (Dr. Nishimura), and his P.A.'s. Dr. Vohra also called me daily after my discharge. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend him HIGHLY to anyone in the NY area that is considering WLS.
