The mission of the Division of Metabolic, Endocrine and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MEMIS) at Mount Sinai is threefold: to advance clinical excellence, education, and translational research. The MEMIS Division, led by William B. Inabnet, III, MD, serves as the backbone for several disease-specific multidisciplinary programs including: The Mount Sinai Metabolic and Weight Loss Surgery Program, which focuses on bariatric surgery and surgery for type 2 diabetes (“metabolic surgery”) The Endocrine Surgery Neoplasia Program, which brings multiple specialists together to treat thyroid, parathyroid, neuroendocrine pancreas and adrenal disorders The Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery Program, which focuses on minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal tract, solid organ removal and surgical innovation Our team of six fellowship-trained surgeons, numerous allied specialists, and ancillary staff is committed to our mission of clinical excellence, education, the advancement of science and comprehensive patient care.
