Monmouth Medical Center Bariatric Center
I met with Dr. Borao on Aug.3, 2001. He is so young looking!! I was quite impressed because he was extremely informative. He explained everything from the wonderful success a person can achieve to the possiblity of death (unlikely, but possible). Because I am not exactly 100lbs overweight, but i do have some co-morbidity and family history, he said that I fit the criteria set by the N.I.H.(national institute of health). He also said that I will be the smallest person he has done the procedure on (I guess that is a compliment?)
I look forward to seeing him again about a week prior to my surgery, I will keep u posted when that happens.
I met Dr. Borao today and was really relieved that he has a great attitude and wonderful bedside manner. He was very thorough and over explained. He is well educated and very honest. His office staff was efficient and friendly. His office is small but clean and modern (for whatever that is worth). I can't think of anything I didn't like about him. HE IS SO YOUNG!! He told me honestly about taking care after the surgery (my husband has already had gastric bypass -open- so I kinda already knew the drill). He told me all of the risks associated with the operation and told me how he plans to reduce my chances. I rate him a solid 9. The bedside manner is important because my husband had Dr. Brolin perform his surgery and while I am aware that he is the #2 bariatric surgeon in the US (second to Carnie Wilson's) he had no bedside manner. I felt uncomfortable with him.
I have made an appt. to see him on July 27th. I am hoping for a cancelation so it can be sooner.I will update after my appt.
Very professional and explained things well. I felt very comfortable with Dr. Borao especially since he has special training in laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery. His office staff was very nice. I saw a few of his post operative patients in the waiting room and they all had only very good things to say. Overall I rate him a 10!
He was very confident, informative treated me with respect. Heard a woman scream when she came out she appoligized, asked her what kind of surgery she had. of course it was gastric bypass but her drainage tube was just removed and she assured me everything was really fine.
was a little annoyed when dr took in patient that came after me but she just had gallbladder surgery 3 days before and only took five minutes.
he stressed the risks over several time told me he had no fatalities as of yet.
I only met him once but i rate him a 8.5 out of 10. No one is perfect.
He trained under some of the finest drs
of course i can't remember their names but did recognize them when he said them.
