St. Joe's Health Bariatrics Bariatric Center
I am two weeks out and I am thrilled with my care from Dr. Zeni and his staff. I call all the time with all kinds of questions and they always ease my mind and I never feel like I am wasting their time with my "stupid questions". They want you to be successful and will do whatever they can within their power to help you. I was so pleased with Dr. Zeni (and my husband liked him too whenever he talked to him) that we have decided to schedule my husbands hernia surgery with him. A couple years ago I was originally scheduled with Dr. Roberts and I liked him just as much, but I ended up pregnant and had to delay my surgery. It was just a scheduling reason why I switched doctors. Both doctors are fabulous. I highly recommend Michigan Bariatric Institute.
I had my Gastric Bypass surgery on December 8, 2008. At the time of surgery I weighed 265 pounds. Today I weigh 140 pounds, which I've maintained for the past 18 months. Dr. Zeni and his staff walked me through the whole process from getting approval from my HMO to maintaining my weight 2-1/2 years later. It's obvious that Dr. Zeni and his staff care about the patients and do all they can to assure their success. I'm such a happy person since the albatross of obesity has been lifted from me. I would highly recommend Gastric Bypass to anyone. In fact, I do recommend it to everyone I meet. My son had his surgery in January of this year and my daughter-in-law soon after. We are a Bariatric Surgery success family! Thanks Dr. Zeni and staff for all you've done to get us there.

My first impression was good. My impression of him now is the same. Although, I think he needs more than one day every 3 weeks for office consults/visits. He appears to be taking on too much in one day. He has a good bedside manner and he is a really good Surgeon. My incisions have healed up very well and are almost gone. His office staff are all very friendly and willing to help you with any questions you have. His aftercare program is structured. The only thing is some things are different than what were laid out in the handbook. That is my only issue.

Dr. Roberts has an amazing ability to make you feel comfortable even when you are really nervous. He was warm, friendly and very thorough. He took the time to discuss all 3 of the procedures and answer my MANY questions. Knowing that he has a busy clinic, he still took the extra time with me and I am grateful for that. Not many surgeons will sit and talk with you anymore. Dr. Roberts really stressed how important it is to follow up with him after surgery. So, even after all my questions, he still wanted to see me? Haha! But that was very comforting to know that it is necessary to follow up often with him and the registered dietitian they have on staff in order to be successful. They weren't just planning on sending me off into the wild after surgery. The office staff was also very friendly and considerate of the "bariatric" patients with their comfortable, wider chairs! It was nice not to have to worry about fitting into the chair while waiting. I would highly recommend Dr. Roberts and the Michigan Bariatric Institute if you are thinking about have bariatric surgery. I cannot even explain how awesome they are in comparison to the other programs I have contacted in the area.
