McLaren Health Care Bariatric Services Bariatric Center
My frist impression was that he was a very caring Doctor. He answered all my questions. My impression of him after awhile was better after hearing from people in the support group talk about him in Flint. I know knoe if there is anything I liked least about him. if you live in the in Michigan around the (Flint) area he is the Doctor I would hightly recombened my friends and family members to go to him. The aftercare I have not when thougt yet. That there are a risk in any surgery. That the risk wasn't real high. I would rate him at a 8. The one I would pick both, srgical competence, bedside manner. Both are importence.
Dr Daberdeen is the most kind, caring Dr. His whole staff couldn't be kinder. They have a very thoughful waiting room, larger chairs, etc, and most of their staff have had the surgery. He is very thoughful, and since I live 3 hours away, and can't always get back to Flint for checkups he will call me to see how I am doing. The dietian is very kind, and compentent. They follow up with you, and provide a support group. The whole team aproach was very effective, and everything was explained very well. I couldn't have asked for a better Dr. The nursing staff was wonderful, this is just a little over a year program started at Hurley. I would encourge anyone to visit him. It was a good experience, and not as bad as some have had. I being older took longer to recover, and had a infected site, but was still able to return to work 4 days a week after about 5 weeks.Thank you for letting me tell some of my story. God Bless Susie
he seems to be VERY busy. he also seems to be nice.
his office staff were really friendly and filled in while he was away.
what i liked least was he was REALLY late! almost 2hrs! butthe staff said this is typical for him to be late since he is also the main surgeon at the hospital.
what others should nknow about him is to plan on him being late.. bring something lengthy to read.
he explained aftercare breifly
he said the surgery is serious and that i will be a very different person afterwards.. alot of changes!
well, i find it hard to rate him being i have only met him the one time,so far,so i think it is best to wait until i know him more.
i think that surgeon competence is most important, it has to deal with my life, as for bedside manner.. i think it is important too, because you are at your weak point, and you are vulnerable. but if the doc isnt so great with this part, im ok with it.
He seemed every busy. Very smart man. Very to the point. YOu ask a question he give you an answer. I asked if I could die, all he said was yes.
I trust him. He's a surgeon. That's what he does and he's good at it.
Make sure you bring questions with you. He explains things but if you ask about things he goes into more detail.
His office staff is wonderful. They did all the work for me. If I call with a problem or question they help me right away.
They know their way around insurance people.
After care is really good. I live 3 hrs. away and I was really sick when i got home. I had to drive back up there and they wait for 3 hrs till I got there.
He does explain the risks. He doesn't sugar coat anything. His bedside manner stinks but his surgical competence I give a 10+.
