LivLite of Los Angeles, CA Bariatric Center
My first impression Dr. Nazarian was that he was very knowledgeable about the surgery and confident. He is a soft spoken man, but strong. My impression has not changed, though at times he did seem to come across a bit harsh. I think he knows what needs to be done pre and post op, and there are no if's and's or but's about it. Its just hard when you are hurting to be dealt with in an abrasive manner, but he is a good doctor. He is very conservative when it comes to aftercare, which IMO shows his concern for his patients. His office staff is absolutely wonderful. Rick treats you like you are his own, and answers any and all questions you may have. He is encouraging and understanding, yet very matter of fact and tells it like it is. Dr. Nazarian's other staff members are also wonderful people. I felt cared about and in good hands from the moment I met them.
Dr. Nazarian is an excellent surgeon. He is very experienced and skilled at what he does. I feel that he tailors the surgery to fit the patient and my results have been great so far. He is a soft spoken man who answers all questions intelligently. The risks were well explained to me. Rick Mark and the rest of Dr. N's staff are all excellent as well. They took care of everything for me and I was able to concentrate on my health and my responsibilites. I would recommend Dr. Nazarian to anyone.
Dr. Nazarian is quiet, gentle, sweet natured and caring. I liked him instantly. I still feel the same way about him now after wls. He really does care post-op. The office staff is AMAZING! Liv-lite is a wonderful program to go through to have WLS. I recommend it highly! After care is very important and strict! They give you what you need to know to recover and start a new life with eating issues, etc. All surgery risks were explained completely and thoroughly. I would rate the doctor's staff of an 10 and Dr. Nazarian a perfect 10! He's great surgically, I had no worries and his bedside manner was warm and comforting. Nothing negative!
I was nervous to meet the doctor at first, but when I met him he was so nice and caring, as everyone says he is very soft spoken, his office staff on wilshire is ok but I really love his staff at Temple Hospital, Sonja and Kelli are very caring and nice, and on testing day the nurse staff was great, everything is moving quickly from the day I called them, and on my second consult with him He gave me a date! Febuary 23 2005!!
He was great, very confident and put my fears at ease. I am thankful to have been so lucky that his office contacted me. He has given me a new lease on life. Never skimp on the surgeon, he is the most important part of your journey, with out a good surgeon you could die or be damaged for life. His bedside manner is priceless and he really does care.
Dr Nazarian is the best, from the bed side manner to the way that he talks to you before and after surgery. He goes out of his way to make sure your comfortable. Rick Mark his program director is wonderful also, he makes sure that the insurance is approved, get everything in order for you, helps with the aftercare and treats you like family. Liv-lite is the program that Dr. N goes through and they have a strict aftercare program which is nice because it doesn't persuade you. Overall he is the best choice that I made, considering I researched for 2yrs to have this done.
Dr. Nazarian is very kind and caring but is offten late but he will spent the time with you but he is not very good at cheeking in to any thing out I did sent him lots of information on the JIB and the problem that could come up and I did ask for a lower gi and did tell him of the problem I was having I feel he has added years to my life and was very interrest in my case but we were very lucky and I feel we he should have cheek things out a little bet better I picked him because he had lots of experance Dr. Nazarian had done many mnay revistion and I am so glad he did my revistion I had a very old JIB form 30 years ago and I knew there was something wrong but had idea . Nazarian Fixed me up and put me back together and did what he knew would be best for me I am feeeling better but I wish I had known what could have happen before hand. As for the surgery the pouch he gave me was to big or some thing is wrong not sure I he has been very hard to deal with my PCP is sending me to someone elst to look into this I wish I had gone to someone in my area and under my plan and not gone out of my PPO plan I think this doc. should Have Know this and should have known a little more about this and me before doing surgery I feel he was in too much hurry to get this done and make the money or maybe he had no Idea of what could go wrong I have sence leard of other people who have had JIB takedown who have had two dr who had every test that could have been done to be sure frist I am very up set about that but I am sure if you want a cookie cutter RnY you are in good hands with this doc but if you have any thing elst better cheek out a few more doc's
All I can say is that I think he is the most excellent surgeon. I do not believe I could have found a better one any where else in this country. I really seems to care about his patients greatly! He has been performing this surgery for many, many years. He is very conservative in his approach to after the surgery keeping his patients 4 extra days after surgery to make sure that there are not any problems. Most only do 2. He also does not allow foods or water for 3 days (to ensure that there is not a leak). You don't miss the food/water as you are on a IV. I feel that I was lucky to have him as a surgeon! I highly recommend him to anyone considering this surgery. He does not approach each case as if you are the most important. I know that he has a very good reputation and deserves it.
