My first appointment with Dr. Snow was Oct 24, 2001. He was very easy to talk to, he listened and answered my questions. He was very attenative and informative. We didn't really discuss much aftercare but, I have another appointment with him before surgery. His staff is very patient and also attenative to questions. I am very happy with Dr. Snow and his staff.

10/12/01 I have seen Dr. Weinstein 3 times so far.My initial visit,my visit after insurance approval and to set up date for surgery, and a meet with my husband. He is very reassuring! Explained in detail the procedure of RNY and any questions I had. He's very busy so there's normally a wait, but he always acts concerned for your wellbeing.

Dr Weinstein was highly recommended to me by another surgeon, my OBGYN and from a previous patient. I went in with high expectations of him and was NOT disappointed!
He was great! He is informative and understanding.
His office staff is very nice. Mary has been helpful, but she is the only one doing this and only comes in 2x's a week.
We discussed my history with my weight problem and the history of the surgery. I explained that I had been researching for a long time before coming in and I already had my mind made up to proceed. We discussed the risks but not aftercare. We will meet again for more details on type of surgery, aftercare etc. after I have been approved.
As far as which is better, surgical or bedside manner? Well I definitely prefer competence! The manners is a nice addition to have though.

Dr. Larmar Snow was a very kind and caring man around middle 60's in age. I had all my ducks in a row when i went to him. (letter of medical need, pros and cons of surgery, goals, medical history including weight history. He drew out what he would do during the surgery and answered all questions. My husband was also very please with him. His staff all seemed concerned. When anyone goes to him they should be prepared and have done their research. He says that the aftercare is so important. That for this surgery to be a success you should really follow all instructions and not set unrealistic goals. He did say that as in any surgery there are risks and went through them but that he felt the risks were so slight that in my case he felt like this would be the way to go. I believe he will be a very caring doctor all the way to the end of the recovery. He does want me to have a follow-up with my primary care doctor within two weeks of surgery so I can be monitored by him as well. I will be seeing a nutreionsit (spelling) for a period of time after surgery. Dr. Snow feels that a lot of my medical problems will be much better not long after surgery.

I was very impressed by my doctor. I had other doctors from other hospital tell me he is the best surgeon they know of. That said alot for me when other doctors think he is the best. His office staff was very helpful. They know your scared when you come in and they are very supported. There isn't anything I don't like about Dr. Weinstein, I would and did trust him with my life. Dr. Weinstein is very straight forward. He tells you just like it is no beating around the bush. I was only on Liquids for 1 day. On the second day in the hospital I was eating eggs. We have a support group at Mobile Infirmary Hospital the 2nd thursday of each month. Which I think is wonderful. They really help with questions that only post op can answer. As for as is surgical competence he is the best. I wouldn't of let him do my surgry if I wasn't sure.

Dr.Daniel Lane is a very wonderful, respectful, kind, younger surgeon with great wisdom. After my first visit with him, I found him to be very interested in "ME" the person to help me with the "problem" I was living with. He listen, he answered, then the steps began to get me to surgery - His staff of nurses, insurance people, secretaries all are so caring and friendly - they all care and are part of the big family, in my opinion..

I was very impressed with Dr. Weinstein, he did not get in a hurry, he took the time to answer all of my husband and my questions. He was not pushy or inconsiderate, he spoke to us in great detail about the benefits and never made light of the risk. He was very helpful in all aspects and I was very thankful to have found him.

His staff was very pleasant.

He is to the point, he does not suger coat anything. I respect that but do not go to him looking for a promise for a quick fix, or with your feelings on your sleeve, he is very nice but very honest.

Aftercare is very important and if you are not commited you are wasting your time as well as his. If you walk and eat all day you will still take in as many calories therefore not loosing any weight and putting yourself in great danger. If you follow his aftercare instructions you will SUCCEED.

He is a 10 in my book.

My first impression of Dr. Lane was that he was a very caring person. Marcella is very nice and understanding. I had to wait about one hour or so before I even seen the Dr. and I hate waiting.
