My first impression of Dr. Brems is wonderful. His staff was very kind and professional. Dr. Brems was very focused, attentive, specific, pleasant, professional, and everything I was hoping for. I could not be more confident with my selection!!! I particularly like the fact that they do not advertise for bariatric surgery. They approach this as a medical issue as would be any other surgery... you are not shuttled through in groups, and they are not in this for the money. They are doing their job, which is to help people who are sick... and they treat it seriously that way. If you are looking for a lot of hype and commercialism, please do not go to him. But - if you are serious, have done your homework, and are looking for a skilled and professional surgeon... he is your man.

I have an appointment with Dr Brems on August 31.

Dr. Brems is wonderful. He answered my questions and was very straight forward with me and his expectations from me! He told me he demanded a great result from this surgery.

Drs.Brems came in the room and shook my hand. He was warm and gentle not judgmental. He listened to me, he let me answer questions, not rushing me. He seemed genuinely concerned for my health. He explain in great detail what was going to happen and why he does the surgery open as opposed to using a scope. His staff was wonderful. Dr Brems is a liver transplant specialist, so if someone needs a transplant of course they come first and your surgery may be postponed. He did tell me how long I would be off from work. How long I would be on light duty. I saw a dietitian that day to go over what I would be eating after surgery and when. Dr. went over the risks of the surgery and the risks of me staying obese.I have had plenty of experience with surgeons since having 11 different operations.
I thought Dr.Brems was great. I would not put my life in his hands if I felt otherwise.

My first impression of Dr. Brems was: I felt instantly comfortable with him, he was very attentive and listened to what I had to say, looking at me when I was talking.

Dr. Brem's office nad staff have been very helpful and kept me informed all through the process, answering my questions and concerns.

Dr. Brem's office provided me with pre-dietery counseling, pamplets and step by step pre-op, procedures, and post-op information. Very concise.

Dr. Brem's addressed the normal risks and addressed the risks due to my prior and present illinesses.

I look forward to his bedside manner being as proficient as his office visit was.

As far as his surgical procedures, I am sure his performance will be as great as it was for my daughter in October.

I had a positive impression of Dr. Brems. I am pretty imformed about this surgery from my own research. He answered all my remaining questions and seemed friendly. I'm not as concerned with his bedside manner as I am with his surgical expertise.

His dietician, Razi, was extremely helpful.

Dr. Brems was very understanding about my situation and what I was wanting to have done. The office staff were all very nice, the nutritionist who works with him was wonderful in explaining the diet. Dr. Brems wxplained everything about the surgery risks and all. I have a pretty clean scar whick I am expecting to fade and shrink. I think that things went very well.

He is a very professional, knowledgable surgeon. The reason that I went to him to begin with was because a friend's mother had successfully had surgery with him already. It's nice to hear good statistics, but it was an added level of comfort to personally know someone that had worked with him and done well.

The other staff there is incredibly friendly, and there is a dietician with the hospital that patients work with that is also very great. All of the follow-up visits have gone very well and he seems to be very conscientious about making certain all of your questions or concerns are addressed.

There is a monthly support group that meets for pre and post-ops, but it's unfortunately at a rather inconvenient time for me and it is at the same time every month so it doesn't leave much flexibility for someone whose schedule won't accomodate that day and time.

The risks of surgery were thoroughly addressed, and he really made certain that I was comfortable and ready to proceed before the surgery. Overall, it has been a really fantastic experience and I am very happy with how things have gone and are still going.

I really liked him right from the start. He was very open and honest about the risks and complications of the surgery. He took time to answer all the questions I had, no matter now stupid they may have seemed. I also liked the fact that I was able to get a surgery date that was only a couple months away so I don't have much longer to wait. His office manager is very helpful and let me know as soon as a date was scheduled and when I received approval from my insurance company. Very pleasant to deal with. He has a wonderful aftercare program that involves followup visits, meetings with a nutritionist and support group once a month.
So far I would recommend anyone interested in the surgery to consider Dr. Brems.
