Dr. Magnuson is the best. He was very nice very detailed and seemed very concerned and helpful. The office staff is Andi she is overworked but very very detailed and nice! He is a very caring doctor. He is very detailed about who to see and aftercare.

As a very nice person.
He shows that he cares about you and well being.
I had no issues with the staff other that they were friendly and willing to help.
just be honest and tell him what ever you are feeling and ask questions.
He emphasizes after care alot, I still have appointments to see him.he tells like it is about the risks and he explains everything. Dr.Maguson is the best. Both are great. The only problem I had was that I got a leg sore because I was on the operating table for about eight and a half hours but there were no complication just that I was a big person. His assistant was also great. The after care staff where there for me all during my five day stay and the therapist was excellent she worked well with me.
This is just an update since my surgery went in nov. 4, 2003 for Recontructive Surgery At Bayview dr. Shermak Plastic surgery Doctor had to get Dr. Magnuson to come in and assist her because there was a huge stomach Hernia behind my belly button, they repaired it and all was well.

I met with Dr. Schweitzer back in November. He comes across as very matter of fact but was very informative.

His secretary has been extremely helpful in working with the insurance company and letting me know what is going on.

My surgery is scheduled for Friday March 12, 2004

I thought Dr. Schweitzer was really fantastic. He was able to do a laproscopic procedure even though I had had a full gull bladder operation 19 years ago. He had to work through a lot of scar tissue from this operation but was successful. I have had a great post op experience losing 90 pounds as of March 8, 2004. My surgery was performed on October 14, 2003.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Schweitzer.

Dr. Schweitzer was very nice and took the time to answer any questions that I may have had. I only had a few questions and he did not act rushed and was very giving of his time. I thought his office staff were very nice and friendly. They made me feel very comfortable and I would recommend him to anyone.

I have to say that since meeting with Dr. Schweitzer; his secretery Merry has really been extremely helpful. She has gone out of her way to help me find out the info that I needed to know.

My first impression was a positive one, I could tell that he was genuine.

My impression over time just kept getting better!

Dr. Schweitzer's staff is exceptional! Merry his secretary is dynamite! Everybody is more than helpful!

I dont have a least favorite thing about him.

Future patients should know that he is the best and they will be in the best hands!

Aftercare is very important to Dr. Schweitzer, he knows I traveled from out of state to have him do the surgery, he made sure to tell me the importance of finding a group in my state for meetings and how important it is for me to have a great support team.

I would rate Dr. Schweitzer on a scale of 1-10 about a million or more!

Both of Dr. Schweitzer's bedside manner and surgical competence is exceptional!

Dr. Schweitzer is amazing! He is kind, funny, and extremely professional. In a way he is less personable than others who are in this field, but very knowledgeable. At my first consult he told me everything I needed to know and was very enthusiastic about the procedure.
My post-operative visits have been short and sweet, it's not a very "Homey" atmosphere, but if you don't mind that it's all good. He helps you when you need it.
No complications, I trust him completely!

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR SCHWEITZER ... HE WAS A VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT WLS.
HE ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS (LOTS OF THEM!)
HE DID NOT RUSH ME. HE HAS A STAFF MEMEBER ASK MANY PRELIMINARY QUESTIONS.

YOU ALSO FILL OUT AND READ INFO BEFORE YOU SEE HIM.

I FELT VERY GOOD WHEN I LEFT HIS OFFICE.

THEY HAVE A GREAT SCALE ALSO!

MERRY (SECRETARY) WAS EXCELLENT ....I THINK SHE IS THE MOST PATIENT PERSON I KNOW!

I HAVE NOTHING BAD TO SAY SO FAR ...KNOCK ON WOOD.

Dr. S was very personalble and informative. He took time to answer our questions. His staff is great. Pat the PA is great. Merry (his secretary) is (I truly believe this) an angel. She should be showed with gifts. Dr. S emphasizes aftercare, but warns that this surgery will not fix bad habits. He addressed all parts of the process.I do think it is important to mention that he has strict protocol for getting out informationa and uses many people and modes to get different aspects of information to you. This leads me to judge not him personal but the whole office that he has set up. At this time I truly have had a positive experience. I will update after the procedure when I have had more contact with him.

So far, I've been very pleased with Dr. Magnuson. He met with me and my mother for almost an hour and answered all our questions. I was required to go through the Weight Management Center but the entire staff was very professional and respectful. I hear that Magnuson is tough on staff, but a strong patient advocate.....that works for me :-)

11/23/00 I'm now seven weeks out and 40 pounds lighter. I had no complications and I feel terrific. Dr. Magnuson is great: very caring, concerned and skilled. His office staff is also very competent and respectful. I can't say enough good things about the nurses at Hopkins Bayview....I simply couldn't have gotten better care and I never had to ask for anything twice.

10/03: I'm three years out, and down 200 pounds. Dr. Magnuson continues to see me about once a year. He caught a hernia for me that ultimately led to my getting a repair combined with a tummy tuck. He is simply the absolute best.
