John C. Alverdy M.D. Bariatrics Bariatric Center
Back at you 2weeks post-op!! Still raving about Dr. Alverdy and his team. The process was set aside for some time for other health issues. At first I was very upset, but realized that this was being done for my own safety!! His team continues to be supportive and imformative.

My first thought when I met my surgeon was, "Man, he's a cutie!!" He was very kind and informative. He let me know that he is here to help and they plan to help me as much as possible. His office staff was awesome as well. I met with his nurse practitioner, Nutritionist, and psychiatrist. They too were very nice and informative. During the seminar I attended previously, they were very straight to the point. They went over all the surgeries available along with the pros and cons. I got a firm but kind vibe from them and feel that this team and I will work well together. I haven't had any other visits thus far and I'm sure there are some negatives, but haven't seen them yet.
I have been a patient of Dr Alverdy since 1999. My weight loss journey has been long and complicated. But one thing that has been consistent since day one, is that Dr. Alverdy and his staff have always taken amazing care of me and my family.
After performing several procedures on me, it is obvious that he is extremely skilled. But equally important, him and his staff care deeply about their patients, and desire nothing but the best for their patients.

As a CCU nurse at a Bariatric Center of Excellence, I knew what I was looking for when I was looking for a surgeon. I met Dr Alverdy and was immediately impressed. I had a lot of questions for him and he took the time to answer them all in great detail for me. Being a medical professional, he spoke in a language I understood, but because my mother was with me he also took the time to explain everything in a way that she could understand as well. She was very impressed and that is quite a feat!
I was so comfortably with him and his staff from the start and I was so excited to get my surgery scheduled.
Now that it's over and done with, I'm so happy with my decision. I'm happy with my choice to have it as well as with the surgeon as well.
The only negative I have to say is that the nursing staff at the hospital could have been a bit more responsive. Keep in mind that I have high standards as I am a nurse myself!

My first impression of Dr. Alverdy was that he was a kind, caring, and understanding person. His demeanor helped me decide that this was the correct action for me to take. His office staff has always been extremely kind and caring. Dr. Alverdy works at a teaching hospital, and takes the time to allow his residents to learn and discuss what the options might be. As a teacher, and a scientist, this was very importnat to me. I would recommend him to anyone anytime and everytime. His programs is extremely structured. I had to jump through many hoops, but that is okay, because those hoops were put there to protect me. Any time I have had a question for Dr. Alverdy or any of his office staff, my question and/or issue is addressed promptly and courteously. Dr. Alverdy's sugical competence is exemplified in his success rate. His bedside manner is displayed in the ways which he expresses his caring before, during, and after surgery. Obviously, I have a very high opinion of him, his staff, and his program. I cannot say enough good things about him. Overall, I would rate him as one of the best doctors that I have ever encountered and I have come across many in my short 51 years and for the rest of my life that will last way longer now that I have encounted Dr. Alverdy.

My first Impression of Dr. Alverdy was overall pleasant. He was straight forward and did not sugar coat anything. I was further impressed to know he was the professor of surgery and had been practicing I think 20 years. The staff was pleasant. Dr. Alverdy emphasizes aftercare and the taking of your Vitamins is a must. His bedside manner was brief as I had no complications Minor or otherwise. He and the surgery were a breeze and all is well today.
