Dr. Cywes is very straight forward. He has a good sense of humor and is very well knowledged in this field. His office staff is very friendly and a few of them have been banded as well so it helps to know you are dealing with people who have been there done that. His talks seem a little rehearsed like he gives the same speech everytime but if you have questions or concerns he will address them. He addresses all the risks and benifits of surgery. He also has the center of excellence award so that is a major plus. His team has had great success with their patients. I would recommend him to anyone in the Jacksonville, Fl area.

Dr. Cywes is the best! He is so passionate about the band and is so dedicated. He has never complained about any late night calls or weekend office visits. It is rare to find a doctor who will see you outside the realms of traditional office hours. As a patient, he is always there for you.

His staff is wonderful. I adore Jody, Christina, Karma, Nicole & Dana. They are truly wonderful people who are as dedicated to fighting obesity and who will also make the time to talk to you, support you, and uplift you. I love my band and cannot imagine my life without it.

Hey ya'll im Rhasha! And i had my surgery january 14th 2010. And my surgeon is Dr Cywes. Lets see...Dr Cywes is a great person, he really cares about his patients and lets you know if any thing comes up no matter how small call him and tell him. and he is very honest i think you can only be honest when you are dealing with someone life,cant afford to sugar coat anything.and even if he said anything that hurt your feelings his carm and good looks make you feel all better.and he has an accent .two thumbs up. his office is wonderfully staffed,very professional and down to earth.everyone has great humor and light hearted and know what there doing,and want to help you any way they can.if your looking into this surgery look him up.

I started the program in early June 2009, after my first visit to the weight loss center I was convinced this was the right direction for me. Dr Cywes didn’t try to get me wrapped up in the emotion of losing weight but instead explained to me what it took to lose weight and keep it off. And for the first time after many unsuccessful attempts to keep weight off, the light went off in my head. The very next day I started making small life style changes that would facilitate the methods introduced to me by Dr. Cywes and his Staff. And before I realized I was losing weight and feeling full. Then I had my Lapband installed in September 2009 I had already lost 75 lbs and with a goal of 180 lbs I knew I still had a ways to go but it seemed very easy because I wasn’t hungry and I didn’t miss the carbohydrates . My recovery from the surgery was rapid because I followed the Instruction from the staff of the Jacksonville weight loss center. Within two weeks I was back to normal excursive and couldn’t even tell I had a band installed my appetite was still the same and I still had no carb cravings. To date I have lost 145 lbs and am still losing, I lead a very active life style now because I can and it feels great. Thanks to Dr. Cywes and his awesome staff I have regained my zest for living and plan to push the wall of my box as far as possible.

Dr. Cywes is an awsome doctor! I had to leave recently because of my husbands orders and I hate that. He makes sure you are mentally prepared and really cares about his patients. I thank him so much for being such a wonderful doctor.

He's the man. No, and ,ifs , or buts about it

He is fantastic and is very knowledgeable! He is very strict and expects you to meet the goals he puts before you. His office staff is phenominal and very caring. He has an abrasive bed side manner so you can't be someone who needs a sweet/soft hand holder but his counterpart Dr. Baptista is that person so you can find the right match within their office. I was the first single incision lap band they have done and things are great! :)

He is a good doctor, respect him alot. rnA very matter of fact upfront person. Tells you how it is.

I dont know him very well yet, but im sure in time I can update this.The big thing I like about him so far is hes a no nonesense kinda guy.If you are not doing what you are suspose to be doing he will let you know.

My First inpression is that Dr Cywes truly Cares, and does not take any excuses. My Impression has not changed he is the best! The staff was Sensation. What future patients should know about Dr Cywes is that he does not except any excuses when you are not doing your part and I love that. After care is emphasize with a program to follow. Everything was covered for risk of surgery. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest I would rate Dr Cywes a 10 hands down. Surgical competence and bedside manner Awesome! My only regrest is that I did not do it sooner.
