Dr. Kelly was attentive, kind and gentle. He is above average in my opinion because of how he cares about his patients. His coordinator Trish was awesome! She made sure we had everything we needed, such as meds to come home, water, jello, etc. She even took us shopping in the little mexican shops downtown Tijuana.

My friend Joyce and I had the surgery on the same day. I'm glad she went with me, but I would have done it alone. The nurses in Florence Hospital were very attentive. Dr. Kelly ordered pain and gas meds on a schedule, he doesn't like his patients to be uncomfortable.

We were picked up at the San Diego airport and taken directly to the hospital. We were in the hospital 2 days and in the hotel 2 days. Dr. Kelly's program includes the hotel stay also. Trish took us to lunch (chicken broth) and shopping. We were picked up at the hotel and taken back to San Diego airport.

We had a 5 hour flight home. We did fine with no pain, but were a bit weak. Now 2 weeks later, no pain, no misery and healing fine and down 15 lbs since surgery.

The experience was great with Dr. Kelly! I just had a gastric sleeve surgery on Tuesday (2 days ago) and here I am with no pain or problems at all today! The hospital was clean and the service from the medical staff was better than any service I had received in the U.S. at Kaiser Permanente. You have two beds, a restroom, and a TV in your room. There is always an attending Doctor on the floor at all times. I never had to remind them to give me my pain medications and they refilled my IV fluids promptly. Dr. Kelly knows what he is doing and he is confident in himself and he came to see me 2 times before the surgery and made sure all my questions were answered. He even came and visited us at the hotel after we were released from the hospital! All the pre-op and post-op tests were done in the hospital so there was no need to be driven around and whenever I called for help or was in pain, the nurse was there with something to make me feel better. One of the patients that had the surgery after me even came by himself and I don't think he ever felt alone. The logistics of getting to the surgery and filling out all the paper work was facilitated by Trish (whom is Dr. Kelly's patient coordinator). We were picked up in a van from the border parking station promptly at 7 am. I was welcomed at the hospital by Trish herself and she explained the whole itinerary to me and helped me fill out all the paper work. Trish made sure we got everything on time and she personally drove us to our hotel rooms and she even took us to downtown Tijuana for souvenir shopping. Overall the experience was great!

I can not speak highly enough about Dr. Kelly. He is the most sincere, personable man I think I've ever met. He has no problem just putting everything aside and sitting down with you and making sure that all your needs are met, questions answered, and that you are as comfortable as can be. Most doctors I know are just concerned about your money and how fast they can get you in and out. That's totally not the case with Dr. Kelly. I was just sleeved 3 days ago, still currently in the hotel. My experience has been great! Trish is amazing as well. If I needed anything else done that these people could do, I'd not think twice about coming down to Mexico to have it done. 100% over American doctors for sure!! Dr. Kelly gave me his personal email address where I can ask questions should I ever have any, Trish as well. I would recommend Dr. Kelly a million times, and I will as people see me succeed thru this new journey of the gastric sleeve. I can't recommend him enough!!!! Wonderful surgeon; great man!!!

Dr. Kelly is a very knowledgeable, experienced, professional and caring surgeon with a perfect balance of compassion, humor and great bedside disposition. I received the gastric sleeve surgery this past week from Dr. Kelly with no complications and thankfully in my case very little discomfort! I researched the Dr's in Mexico inside and out and found that Dr. Kelly was by far the best choice for me. Not only is he a dedicated bariatric surgeon versed in all of the various bariatric surgeries for the past ten years, prior to this he was trained and worked as a transplant surgeon here in the U.S. He works from a private fully equipped hospital that specializes in cancer treatment, all major surgeries, with a cardiac ward and a ICU. Dr. Kelly has the ground floor and the hospital is kept in immaculate condition and is very quiet. All rooms are big and fully equipped hospital rooms with an adjoining full bed and a lazy boy recliner for your guests. Without reservation - I highly recommend Dr. Kelly for your bariatric needs for sure!

Upon arriving to the hospital in the late evening prior to the day of my surgery, Dr. Kelly came in to introduce him self and then took me to be introduced to the other patients. He covered what would take place the following day; blood work, appointment with the cardiologist and x ray. He thoroughly explained the purpose of these tests and then proceeded to answer any questions or concerns I had. The nursing staff came by to introduce themselves for each shift and made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable.

The next morning, just like clock work the nurses arrived and placed me on an IV, took my vitals and then there was the progression of all the testing I was told about. Later in the afternoon after all the morning testing, the cardiologist came back and reviewed the results of my blood work in detail and his ekg. Approximately an hour later Dr. Kelly came in and informed me and my family that it was time for surgery and the nurses would be in to prep me, he also offered last minute reassurance and answered specific questions we had.

I was rolled into a clean, crisp, bright operating room. I remember the temperature was perfect and there was light soothing jazz music playing. Dr. Kelly introduced me to his team; second surgeon, anesthesiologist, attending nurse and off I drifted to sleep. I woke up immediately after surgery on the table. I was transferred to my hospital bed and rolled into my room. Sleeved in 45 minutes flat! All went perfect without a hitch. I have had many surgeries in the past, thus far this one was a breeze....I did not suffer any pain and did not require any drugs for pain. I attribute that to a skillful surgeon, a strict pre-op diet and lots of prayer. I was up and at em that night and haven’t stopped walking. I feel like a million bucks and do not even remember at times that I need to take it easy. I am 5 days post op. : )

Thank you to Dr. Kelly and his brilliant team!! I feel that I was blessed to find Dr. Kelly and even more so to have met him.

I had my surgery with Dr. Ramos Kelly on Aug 17th 2011. I spoke with him prior to my surgery (during the time I was making my decision on which surgeon to choose) and he answered all of my questions. I also had the pleasure of dealing with Trish his patient coordinator and she too helped me feel comfortable with my decision. She answered all of my questions and the questions she couldn't answer she made sure I was able to speak with Dr. Kelly personally to have them answered. I honestly believe she is the BEST thing since sliced bread. lol She was absolutely amazing before I went to Tijauna and once I arrived I didn't think it would be possible for her to improve on her perfection but she did! She is a loving, caring and wonderful person and she was truly a blessing to have around. Dr. Kelly is sooooo lucky to have her!
My surgery was pretty uneventful except for my reaction to the anesthesia. However, the day after surgery I was feeling so good I wondered if I really had anything done! lol Once I left the hospital and went to the hotel I was feeling even better. Dr. Kelly and Trish came to my room to check on me and Trish even took me shopping.

I had a GREAT experience with Dr. Kelly and his team and I'd recommend him to everyone!

I had surgery with Dr Kelly on May 31, 2011. My first impression of getting to San Diego was "what the hell did I do" . My husband was with me so I wasnt totally scared like I would have been if I was alone. We were picked up by Ricardo. SUPER NICE GUY!! He even took us shopping after my surgery. When we arrived at the hospital I was a little nervous. The hospital its self although older was still beautiful. There wasnt any lines to wait in to get to our room. We walked in and within minutes we were in our room.

My husband was hungry so Pepe went and got him some tacos. WONDERFUL!! The nurses and staff was so attentive. Not like anything in the states. If we wanted it, or needed it, it was there.

Dr. Kelly...I really liked him. He was a super down to earth man. He sat and talked to us like he had known us. He answered all my questions and helped ease my mind. I felt relief after speaking with him. My husband even liked him and he was VERY SKEPTICAL of going to Mexico.

I would and have recommended Dr. Kelly to my family and friends. I would gladly go back with anyone wanting to go. It was a wonderful experience.

Dr Ramos Kelly performed my sleeve surgery on February of this year. I was so glad I chose him as my surgeon. He is very knowledgeable and also a very nice person. He even has a sense of humor and I felt I was in good hands. I would recomend him to a loved one and would love to go back to Tijuana to visit him and the staff and thank them again for everything.

This was an older hospital, but the nurses and staff were excellent. Dr. Kelly was a very good doctor and took exceptional care of me. Dr. Romano came to see me at my hotel and as a very caring individual! And there was Trish! Trish was the nicest and friendliest person and I would highly recommend my experience to all.

Dr Ramos Kelly and his staff were absolutely wonderful. I am a resident of California ,and researched Mexico'a DR's.. did a lot of research on bariatric surgeons, and am so pleased with the team that I had chosen to do my surgery. I had the gastric sleeve procedure. Upon arriving down in Tiajuanna, I was greeted with smiles, professionalism, and true caring throughout the procedure. The surgery itself took only 45 min! the rest was preparing for surgery, lab work, visits from the dr and his staff continuously. And then the healing began. I definitely would recommend Dr Kelly Ramos and his team to anyone who is considering this type of surgery. He is gentle, caring, professional, and above all, very qualified. His pt care is nothing like I have experienced here in the states. Not to put a negative spin on our system and Dr's, it is just the difference between follow up care, and attentiveness. I was very blessed to have found such a wonderful team with Dr. Ramos Kelly and his staff!! (Trish and nurses) Thank you all sooooo much. !

My first impression of Dr. Kelly was that he was a very knowledgeable surgeon, comfortable in what he does and that he is really there to see you through this. My impression of his warmth and genuine concern for his patients grew every time I was visited by him. Dr. Kelly's office staff was great. The majority of the nurses spoke English, and only a few who worked at night, did not. The nurses, work very hard to tend to your every need, and were on it 100%. Trish, who is an assistant there, works the longest hours of any assistant I ever met, and she has such a huge heart and is able to answer any basic questions you have.

Dr. Kelly is open & honest about what his concerns are for your health, safety, during and after surgery. He shared info with me concerning my surgery, which I appreciated. There was nothing I didn't like about Dr. Kelly, he is a sweet heart, a good soul. Dr. Kelly will tell you straight up this is a life changing surgery and wants you to know there is responsibilities that come with any procedure. I rate Dr. Kelly a 10. There really is nothing negative to say about him, he is that awesome. He even brought his little boy over to meet me and spent quality time with us getting to know us and making me feel comfortable. He shared information and stories from his own life which also a special touch. His surgical competence and bedside manner is second to none!! I live in Alaska, that is along way to travel just to be disappointed and I wasn't. If I have to pick only one area for improvement it would be that all the nurses speak English, at night, after surgery, when your really out of it, it is a little challenging to play sign language w/ them when trying to get info across to someone one simply doesn't know what your saying.

I had a nurse who tried 4 times to get my IV inserted, but wasn't able to get it going, b/c I have tiny veins, when DR. Kelly entered the room & saw this, he called for another nurse, Alicia and she got it on the first stick, thank god! DR. Kelly was quick to see I was in pain and immediately dealt with the situation so I would not suffer. The hospital was clean, warm, and felt very safe. When I slept my first night at the hotel, (upgraded to the Lucerna) I wished I was still at the Florence Hospital, b/c it was so cozy and I felt really safe there and the aftercare there was amazing. My husband was able to sleep in the same room as me, he was given a full size bed w/ blankets and pillow and showered there as well. He was given a meal ticket for every meal he ate at the hospital, most were good, he said, some he didn't care for, but mind you my husband enjoys meat & potatoes and greasy cheeseburgers and fries, so go figure. That wont be found on this menu, sorry. They gave me a take home bag of meds and juices and jello's. They should include more jello. I still have some of the gatorade they gave me, it's in my frig. I tried to find more jello in town, but wasn't able to, so that was a little bummer. I am fully stocked now. Also they give one small box of pain meds. I would of liked 2 boxes, just in case, I have one pill left, and I am 1 week post op, and took a little bit of ibuprofen this morning, b/c unless the pain is really bad I am saving my last pain pill for that moment. The Driver Ricardo, is a trip. He & my husband really hit it off, I think. We tipped him, I don't know if that is expected, but it is how we do things, so we gave him $20 going in and $10 going out. Take cash with you, the ATM's charge and as my husband said can be a little confusing. The experience with Dr. Kelly was most memorable, and I am so glad he did my surgery. What a wonderful person. What a wonderful Dr.

My husband was not for me to have surgery in the first place and then when I said I wanted to go to TJ, he was really against it. After he met Dr. Kelly, his whole view on my safety changed. He realized just how "LUCKY" I was to have a surgeon like Dr. Kelly and said no Dr. had impressed him more than Dr. Kelly, and my husband has had some good doctors in his life, but he believes Dr. Kelly is above them ALL. I agree.

I am a blessed person. I have no major pain and have lost 10 lbs since my surgery. Looking to loose more in the weeks & months to come. Thank you Dr. Kelly for giving me the opportunity to regain my happiness. It's all about the simple things, as I told Dr. Kelly, like the desire to tie your shoes with out struggling. That's a goal of mine.
