I would, without any hesitation, recommend Dr. Lederer for bariatric surguery. What others have said in their more recent reviews are the same impressions I had of him six years ago when he performed my surgery. He was confident of his abilities and very forthcoming with the risks. Because of his thoroughness before surgery, I knew when I came to and saw the clock on the wall that something had not gone as planned. My surgery, which started as laproscopic, turned into an open procedure, due to the discovery of a leak that was not repairable laproscopically. Thankfully, Dr. Lederer was very thorough in his technique and tested for leaks before closure. Post-op, he and his staff were available for any concern I had. I lost all my excess weight in the first years and have been maintaining a healthy BMI ever since. I owe so much to Dr. Lederer and would recommend him to anyone.

I had Dr. Jacobs in 2003 at HCMC. Dr. Lederer did my revision in 2007. I think both surgeons are top notch and would have no problem going back to either. However, Dr. Leslie is now my primary surgical consultant and bariatric doctor.

I switched from HCMC because I was not getting fills that helped. They would tell me I was tight, but the reality was I was not, and Dr. Leslie proved it to me, allowing me to thus lose about 100 more lbs. I went over a year post revision before losing a single lb.

Surgically the physicians are awesome, post care was not good for me. I think perhaps because I was a revision that methods needed to be less traditional.

Overall rate him 8 out of 10. He is very knowledgeable about his trade. I adore most of his office staff, great team. My first impression was he is trustable. My impression over time still remains the same. I least like about him is that i feel rushed in appointments but then again that might bbe policy and not him. Both bedside manner and surgical competence was good.

I finally got to meet with my surgeon on June 5,09.People say first impressions mean a lot, and I immediatley liked Dr.Lederer.What I liked the most was he didn't sugar coat anything, and he made sure to point out that, there can be risks with the surgery, as well as with anyother surgery.I also liked that he didn't mind answering everyones questions,no matter what the topic was.His staff is great also,i'd definatley recommened someone to him.

I work at UMMC Fairview Riverside. Everyone seems to knows Dr. Lederer. When I first met him at the informational meeting-I was unsure having worked with Dr's all of my life I have good and bad experiences with all kinds of doc's. What impressed me the most is in the meeting-there was one other person. An average size person-I was thinking she was either getting info om a revision or doing some kind of research. When it became apparent she had other body image issues he could not work with. He handled it sensitively, professionally and prepared her for other types of treatments. She left and I stayed-not another word was said. He answered my questions-he is a % number guy and you can tell he is proud of the work he does.rnI do not have the personal experience as far as bedside manner. Trust me Me being a medical person and this procedure happening where I work there will be a lot of questions.rn

Dr. Krook is one of the best doctors I've ever worked with. He is very understanding and shows a general concern for his patients.rnHe came and talked to me once before surgery and once when I was in my recovery room and then twice the day I was discharged. He never once did all the talking but asked me more questions then I had but there was time for me to asked if I need to. He told me it was up to me if I wanted to go home and let me makes the decisons that would work for me.rnThe rest of the staff at the HCMC bariatric center are outstanding too, Beck and Kim went above and beyond and I was not used to be treated like this.rnI would tell anyone that is even thinking about surgery to check out HCMC first you will not be disappointed.rnThe staff on the floor of post op are to awesome to talk about I've been in other hopsital settings and HCMC blows all those away, Bobbi and Sarah the nurses are the best in the world.rnI beleive good Doctors surround themself with the best they can and Dr Krook has surely done thisrnrn
